Great experience with this salon & highly recommended! I booked a haircut midweek - called the morning of and got an appointment at noon. The receptionist who helped me was super welcoming and knowledgeable. I arrived 10 min early to check in, and as soon as I sat down Brittany came out to greet me. We hit it off right away: she was friendly, easy to talk to, was super attentive to my needs and worked with me to get exactly what I wanted. Important to note here that I am VERY particular about my hair, especially after getting it bleached and colored purple, it really needed special tending to. I've gone to a wide variety of salons over the years across Manhattan, Queens, NJ, overseas in Asia, and I will tell you it is very difficult to find a stylist that just clicks with you right away like that - someone who recommends but isn't pushy, gives advice without constantly trying to sell you a service, and will really listen to your needs and adjust accordingly. The 45 min wash/haircut/blowout just flew by. I don't live in the area, but the whole process was such a great experience that I will definitely consider waiting until the next time I'm in town to get a haircut here. Great salon, all the staff is happy and friendly. Kelly is my stylist and she is amazing. She listens to any hair concerns that I may have. My Keratin lasts a full year when Kelly does the treatment. Wow, great salon! I have never been more impressed with a haircut. I called to make an appointment, and they could gladly fit me in. Staff is super friendly here, and this is the first time, someone actually listens to the instructions I give when doing my hair. I told my haridresser, as I don't like the way it feels in my hair, and she said that was fine, and she didn't use it for the entire trim! I have been to so many places, where I tell them about this rule. and they just blo dry it, because they can't cut my hair that way, even if they say okay at the beginning. Here, they really listen to you! This place is super clean, and I saw that they're always cleaning the place up, even after hair drops! It's also very convenient for me, as I live a mile away from here as well! it is a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth it! Overall, do come here! Especially, if you're in the area! read more

I've been coming to Drama since mid 2015 when I followed Jen Guiamano from her former salon. She is the only person I let near my hair and would follow her out of state if it came to it. She's that good. Sure, it's on the higher end of the price scale, but you get what you pay for. Jen is constantly attending classes to further master her craft. That makes it worth the price. Everyone is very friendly and the place is very clean and sparkling. The only reason I took off one star is for the appearance of some of the staff. This is a salon - put your best foot forward. I don't want to be greeted by someone or shampooed by someone who doesn't even bother putting them self together in the morning. I used to work in a salon setting and the number one rule was to make sure your personal appearance reflected the salon atmosphere. Sure, we all have bad days and days we don't feel well or feel like doing our hair and makeup, but don't come to work in a salon looking like you took zero effort to even make a messy bun look presentable. read more

I started coming to Drama on reccomendations for a specific hairdresser after my regular hairdresser from another salon moved out of state. I was greeted very nicely and got an appointment for a consultation. On my first appointment for hair color and cut I received a discount for being a new customer. As I have been coming to Deanna for several months now I've come to know her and very glad I chose her as my new hairdresser. Yes the prices are a bit higher than average. My stylist, Cheryl, stay up-to-date on training and trends and is a great counselor in preparing me for self care of my style and color. The cuts and styles are easily maintained, especially considering the counsel. I got my hair done in June 2016 for my bridal shower by Deanna. My updo came out great but I was disappointed with the price. I felt that I was overcharged and noticed the salons overall prices seemed a little ridiculous even compared to other high end salons I have been too. I will say they were super friendly and it looks like they do a nice job. I don't know if I would go back for an up do because I've gotten just as good work done for $30 less. Otherwise, I know some of the other stylists from my other salon and they do a good cut and color. read more

This is best place for hair. I've gotten my hair done at salons much more expensive than this, but the stylists here seem to do a better job at creating a flattering cut. So yeah....very nice, friendly (but professional), experienced staff and very fair price. One time I realized that I didn't have the money with me to pay and the owner was there and he was very cool about it. I mean, what could he have really done...called the cops? But still, he was very cordial considering the situation, telling me to come back later when I had it, no problem. read more

I went to Drama salon for the first time for aBrazilian keratin straightening treatment. I have done this many times before in NY and have fantastic results with my hair being frizz-free and straight for almost 4-6 months. That sadly didnot happen this time. I was truly disappointed because they charged me $250 for frizz-free sleek hair for a week. It was almost like when I washed my hair for the first time after the treatment, it had washed off whatever fake product they used. Truly disappointed and feel like a fool for wasting my hard earned money. Please do not go there if you want to just give money away for no service.!!! read more

I've been to this salon a few times and the stylists generally give good haircuts. But they are extremely scissor-happy--they will cut lots of little choppy layers that do not fall into place when styled and take a long time to grow out. The cuts I've ended up with are very hard to manage and take a lot of time to heat style each morning, even after I have mentioned that I like to wear my hair naturally curly. If you are looking to grow out your hair or get an easily manageable style, I would NOT recommend this salon. read more

Myself and my 5 yr old boy both get our hair cut at Drama. We love both Anna and Kelly. They both cut exactly what we ask for and also make great suggestions to make our hair look better. Price is reasonable for the area, although kids haircut is a bit expensive ($25). The staff is always friendly. As soon as we walk in they offer coffee, tea and cookies. The owner is very nice and always makes sure we are happy with their service. We have been going their for a year now and have never been not pleased with everything. I highly recommend. read more

I had my hair trimmed at Drama Salon today by Jennifer. As I was in a hurry I did not have it shampooed and just asked for a trim of about an inch. She spritzed my hair, trimmed it and asked if I wanted her to "run the hair dryer over it" which I agreed to. She did a nice job blow drying it and the whole thing was done in under 30 minutes. Imagine my shock when I received the bill for $60!!! Thinking there was a mistake I asked the manager if that was the correct price for just a trim. She told me that the charge was not based on what I had done but rather on who did my hair. That price was set by the hairdresser! I asked how would I know that I would be charged an excessive charge? I was told that I had to ask when I came in what the charge would be!! The posted price for a shampoo cut finish was listed on the wall as $40+. I later returned to confront the hairdresser but she left for the day. The manager refused to refund any money to me even after I pointed to the price list on the wall! She said that Jennifer was top rated. I said I would never return because I did not like the way they did business. Wish I made $2 a minute with my masters degree! read more

I called up at 12:42 to make an appt for a fill in n pedicure, they tell me to come at 1, I try to explain it'll take me more then 20 min to get there and to make it for 1:10-1:15 but she insists on 1pm n tells me not to rush. I get there at 1:25 and at the time it's no problem, yet. I show the salons one n only manicurist a picture of how I want my nails and made sure not to pick anything complicated since I don't know her skill level yet. As for reconstructing and filling in my new gel nail set, she did great and explained everything as we went along. This is when she tells me we wont have time to do my pedicure after my nails and Then we start painting... In the picture I have for her, the thumb is all white with 2 gold-glitter stars, index finger is light pink, with one white thin white stripe outlined in the same gold-glitter, a stripe of the light pink base color, and another white stripe thicker then the top one also outline in the gold-glitter, middle finger is solid gold-glitter, ring finger is white base color with 2 light pink stripes outline in the gold glitter n separated by a stripe of the white base color, and pinky is solid gold glitter again. The 2 sold gold glittered fingers are fine. The striped, she tells me they don't have a light pink even tho I ended up spotting one on the shelf of polishes right next to her but by then it was too late, the gold outline is embarrassing there's just a mess of glitter in some spots and none at all in others. By then she starts noticing she's doing a horrible job and can tell I'm not going to be happy with it so now she starts bitching how I'm a half hour late and why no other nail artist would want to do this since its so time consuming, when I've had more complicated done better in less time without getting bitched at, this is your job, you don't get to pick n choose which designs u do and don't do that's ridiculous. The stars, come out as one gold glitter glob on each nail, and according to her it's my fault because I didn't go buy some special stickers before I came, this is the first time I'm ever hearing of these stupid stickers, and not like I would've had time to even if I wanted to, and I told her she should've told me before she started painting and told me if she didn't have all the right supplies or just couldn't do it in general. She took off the thumb polish mess and repainted it plain white and left. She was also very file happy and kept filing filing filing the sides, taking off nearly half the gold glitter polish on the middle n pinky fingers so then she had to redo one of those too. And the one middle finger, my nail isn't attached to the gel so when I touch my hair for example, it gets caught between the two nails. Overall, she doesn't have a lot of tools for designs, not a lot of polish choices even, she makes the gel nails good but design is not her fortè. She also gets an attitude when she sees she's doing a sucky job. Don't let her file ur nails after they're painted either, I don't know why she does that but she shouldn't. I left nearly with tears in my eyes knowing I'm stuck with this horrible polish job till I can afford to go somewhere else. Oh, and in the midst of all the horror my nails were getting, a big huge centipede walked by and made me jump so high. DISGUSTING!!!! I ended up paying $40 "for the fill in" (who charges $40 for a fill in?? RIPOFF!!) and was given a 20% off coupon for any hair service, but I don't think ill be using it any time soon. I'll be back at my old salon this week for damage control... Don't go here for nails unless u want the simplest of simple designs! read more
