I had a root color and hair trim scheduled with Sue on 3/7. (Scheduling over the phone is preferred.) I arrived a few minutes early and was seated while Sue finished with another customer. The layout of the seating is socially distanced, and everyone was wearing masks. When Sue was ready for me, she had me place my belongings in a plastic bin at the booth I was sitting at. She took a look at my hair and went to go mix up the dye. She also came back with those plastic ear covers that are supposed to protect your ears from the dye, but I could tell they had been used on another client because they were stained. Another thing I found odd was that she didn't brush my hair (typically you would expect that for even color); she just kind of freehanded it. But, whatever, I would wait for the final result. After the dye, she walked away. No communication, no timer set. I just took out my book and started reading because I expected to be sitting for about 20-30 minutes. She returned around 30 minutes later and rinsed my hair. Before I sat down in the chair, I pointed out to her that I had a new piercing in my ear so she would be careful. She washed my hair and I think she left in conditioner (didn't rinse it out). Then she started towel-drying my hair and hit my piercing hard, causing me to bleed. She did apologize, but come on.... She brought me over to a drying machine and had me sit there while she worked on another customer's hair. At this point, I was nervous about getting my hair cut by her. I waited until my hair was dry enough and I told her that I changed my mind about cutting it. I didn't even want her touching my hair anymore. When I went up to pay, I heard her tell the guy at the desk taking my payment to charge me $80 in Korean (I speak and understand Korean but I don't look it.) I just thought that was an absurd amount of money to charge for a root touch up, and especially since she wasn't careful with my ear. I tipped her $10 because she did SOMETHING, but gosh it wasn't a good experience at all. I won't be returning.

I am here to tell you that Gina is that hairstylist. ABSOLUTELY AVOID HER. I came here a few days ago and received the worst haircut imaginable. First, I told Gina that I did not want to wash my hair since I had just washed it. Instead of telling me no, she pretended to not speak English. After my wash, she asked me if I only wanted a haircut....in english.... I was then charged for this wash. Then I showed her a picture of the cut I want, which is shoulder length. She cut my hair so short it's about 3 inches away from my shoulder. While she was cutting she seemed distracted by a conversation another hairstylist was having with her customer. I ask for Kelly and she does an amazing job with coloring my hair. I've gotten a balayage from her as well as highlights and the color lasts for such a long time. She does a very thorough job and really takes her time with you, while staying extremely professional and also very sweet. I am also satisfied with my haircuts by Kelly as she can always pull off whatever style I ask for. The salon is very clean and cozy and they're great at offering tea/coffee/water while you wait to be seen. And you are tricked because you're not told upfront. So for a 10 year old I paid almost $300. Insane!!! If I knew that's what they do I would have never even booked an appt. I find it crazy that someone would feel good charging $281 for a 10 year old. And to be quite honest my child's hair looked horrible after. No one would ever guess $281 for just paid for her hair. I have to write an even MORE raving review. I just recently turned 30, and have been feeling hella old. My hair color from my last salon, well, I felt it aged me. It was this warm blonde color and was a very rooted look. I never really loved it but my old hairdresser insisted it was perfect for me due to my age and complexion. Unlike the previous salon, Larissa took my image of what I wanted during my consultation and made it into a reality, and assessed whether it'd suit my skin tone and everything. She even added a shadow root (her image) to make it look more seamless as it grows. Such a difference that even my mother and father in law liked it and could tell a noticeable change in my hair (words like softer, healthier, more blended.) And they used to HATE my blonde hair. :-O The first time I came in, she fixed my "heavy" layers and I haven't had a bad hair day since. Def my forever hair salon and hairdresser now. I've finally decided to write an accurate review. The first time I went in to color my hair black and silver from virgin light brown hair(which should cause no damage). I somehow ended up leaving with my hair not anything like the picture I requested but also the black was bleeding onto the silver that I had just spent over $200 to get done. I had to return because my hair was splotchy and uneven, somehow I ended up with such badly damaged hair that all the silver hair pretty much fell out over the next few months. I went back for a simple haircut about a month ago and the same person cut my hair and somehow my side bangs were a blunt cut that didn't make any sense and I was able to do a better job myself fixing it up. I think with all the drama right now with hair stylists charging "luxury prices" for mediocre work, I'm just going to continue to do my own hair in the future because nothing could be worse than what I've been getting. I think the owner purposely makes you leave with wet hair so you don't realize how bad of a job it is. I always like giving smaller businesses a chance and go a few times to help them out and try to give good reviews, but I can't justify the amount of harm done to my hair and I think other people need to be warned before all their hair falls out as well.

Tldr; I would not recommend this place for waxing services, but the eyebrow threading was nice, and other customers rave about the hair services. I went 2x on the same day: first appointment was eyebrow threading & lip/chin waxing. It went ok enough that I came back for a full body wax including Brazilian. The second appointment did not go so well. The same person did both and she was so sweet, but I don't think waxing is her specialty. The *application* of the wax hurt. Outside of the bikini area they use the handheld rollers instead of fresh sticks, and they kept pulling and pinching and did not go on evenly. Waxing doesn't feel like a picnic anyway, and we had such nice conversation, so I let this slide. For the bikini area they do use fresh sticks. As she left she mentioned I had "a little bruising" because my "skin is sensitive." When she left and I was getting dressed, I saw how bad the bruising was, and I was bleeding where my skin *tore open down there.* This was not a follicle here and there bleeding where one hair came out, I had a 1/2 inch section of skin that was open and bleeding. If I moved my leg it could "talk." This was complemented by substantial bruising on my thigh: very visible/impossible to hide in a bathing suit. This is the day before I'm going on a beach vacation. So I am now very upset. As I'm checking out she mentioned giving me a discount on my *next* appointment which made me irate. The skin I had only *just* looked at when the service ended, she had fully seen during the service. The results were impossible to miss. It's a pretty bold assumption to think I would come back after the bleeding and bruising I got. When I started to freak out, the staff said they would wave the charge for underarm waxing as a one time courtesy ($15) and acted like they were doing me a favor. Then they asked me about if my hair is curly or not which was so confusing to me. Turns out they were writing a gift certificate for a blowout, which... huh? I didn't come for a blowout and wasn't upset about a hair service? (And again it was a bold assumption that I would come back *another time* instead of making sure I felt ok while I was standing there). When I had arrived, customers were raving about their hair. So maybe this is more of a hair Salon? Which makes sense why they'd push a blowout on me. But very strange to do that in this scenario. I felt uncomfortable escalating because the lady who did my waxing was so nice: I didn't want to hurt her feelings or make her feel bad, and she had another client there waiting for threading. There was no such concern for *my* feelings. No "I'm sorry" or "can I see how bad the bruising is?" or "if it's bleeding, we have bandaids/first aid." Maybe they are used to seeing this so it's not a big deal to them (yikes) but it was a big deal to me to have my bikini line botched before a big trip. I can forgive a hair stylist not knowing how to do waxing, but then don't offer those services if your people are not trained to do them at the same standard as your hair services. And if that service is botched: own it and try to make it right during that visit. Don't ask the client to come another day for a completely unrelated service. Don't tell the client nothing is wrong when it clearly, visibly is. Don't blame it on the clients skin: as sensitive as my skin may be, I've never had bleeding or bruising like this, and I was a training model at a cosmetology school getting waxed by trainees! Plus at that point I just wanted to go to urgent care considering the only aftercare advice I got from them was to "put Vaseline on" and I had a hunch that was insufficient. At urgent care they gave me stick-on sutures to *hold my skin together* so it heals with less scarring, and I got RXs for both topical and oral antibiotics to prevent infection since the open cut is on a sensitive area. And just in case you, reader, or the business have questions: Q: "The staff tried to make you happy, maybe you are really hard to please" A: Here is the bare minimum to make a client happy in that situation: - Apologize. I can't believe this needs to be said. - Credit the *botched* service in full. Not a different service. The service that was botched. - Never blame the client, or the clients body/skin, for a poor service rendered. - Acknowledge some re-training is necessary so this doesn't happen to someone else Q: This doesn't sound like us, you must have made it up! A: I have the geolocated pictures I took at the salon while I was still in the room, and more at home after urgent care placed the stick on sutures. Receptionist asked if she can assign me with someone else. I said anyone but Jimmy (owner). My son and I had him once before and he did not do a good job. When I walked in today, they gave me Leo. He took over Allen's station. I asked for 2" off with lots of layers to give my hair some volume since I have very thin hair. Leo showed me how much he would cut off and I gave him the go ahead. I thought Asians are supposed to be great at math but holy shhhh he started cutting and cutting and cutting and it got shorter and shorter. At this point it was hard for me to say something. Pretty sure that he cut off FIVE whole inches. Not only did he cut off 5" but the layers he gave me were very choppy, it looks like he hacked it with a saw. The receptionist came by to sweep up my hair with a dust pan and my eyes were bugging out because I was in shock at how much he cut off. I spend an obscene amount on high quality hair products at home to keep my hair healthy. Now it looks like shhhh. Never in my entire life have I ever gotten such a bad cut. I know it's just hair and it will grow back but I felt I need to write this review to warn others. When layers are trimmed, it should fall softy and naturally. He also thinned out my ends so much that it looks weird. OMG!! I can't!! The strange thing is, all the best stylist at this salon, Allen, Ben, Jackie left. Now I will have to go into NYC to find a new salon. This has traumatized me.

Staff was helpful and attentive and seriously blew me away at the haircut I got. I even got a snack! Seriously, if you're hesitant, don't. They are incredibly nice, fast, and accommodating.
