We hired their artist, Mike, to draw our guests at our wedding, especially during "down time" such as pre-ceremony and during cocktail hour. Out of 150 guests only about 19 were drawn. Mike was barely seen and I have no idea where he wondered off to during our wedding. Many guests had no idea he was even there and wished they had gotten a drawing done. When I spoke to the manager the customer service was awful and I was given excuses for Mike such as "the sun was in his eyes," "he didn't know where the guests were," (we were the only party at the venue that day), and he needed a place to plug in what was advertised as a mobile printer. Not worth a single penny, we were better off without hiring a live artist for what we received, which basically was nothing. Our experience with Boris and the drawn together team was quite disappointing, as Boris and his team dropped the ball on several separate items over the course of our event booking. We booked Boris and two other artists to create live sketches during our wedding cocktail hour, for our guests to take home as a special keepsake. We discussed with Boris how we envisioned our event to go, with his artist floating during cocktail hour to sketch our guests and proving both portrait sketches as well as full body sketches of our guests all dressed up for our wedding. We discussed how we wanted this to be and interactive experience for our guests with the artists floating and sketching on their iPads, and sending an emailed copy to our guest as well as a print to the print station for guest to pick up at the end of the night. Instead, only two of the three artists ended up showing for our confirmed booking and of the artists that did show they remained seated during their entire time and barely interacted with our guests. Over the course of our three hour booking with drawn together, our artists only provided 18 sketches (one of which was our wedding coordinator), which is lovely but we hired drawn together to sketch our guests not our other wedding vendors. We had booked the recommended number of Artists for the recommend time frame that Boris suggested, and only a tiny fraction of our guests received a sketch. We knew we would never capture every single guest, but Boris and previously told us that sketches should expect sketches to take between 7/10 minutes each, which should have netted approximately 36-54 drawings for our event. We understand there might have been an emergency for one of the artists, however we are disappointed that Boris did not have any contingency plan. Boris could have easily stayed an extra hour or two to make up for the missing artist, or arrange to have another artist from his team join. Instead, Boris and our other artist left after our 3 hour booking, and informed us everything went "smoothly", which was certainly not the case. In addition, the sketches were suppose to be emailed to our guests with a curated message that we had outlined with Boris and his team in advance. However, the artist never emailed any of the sketches to our guest. Boris claimed there was a server issue on his end which was a blatant lie, as they never even asked our guests for their email addresses. After our event we were promptly shared a bill for the balance for our event booking and a link to the artists work. We reached out to Boris to express our deep disappointment from him and his team after feedback from our guests, and he agreed they did not perform as expected or follow any of the prior procedures we had outlined and discussed well in advance. Further, after speaking with Boris we got the impression that he was not interested in offering any means or suggestions on how he might make us whole for what we had contracted his team for. Overall we had a highly disappointing experience, especially after working with Boris on a corporate event. Unfortunately we can not in good faith recommend Boris and his team to anyone. read more

Michael was great!! The guests loved their drawings. He took their photos and then hand painted each one. He created portraits for individuals, couples or families. This worked so well because guests could continue enjoying the party and didn't have to sit while he painted. I am so excited to frame mine!! We worked with Boris on the invitations for our upcoming wedding in June 2014. Prior to contacting Boris we had planned on sending e-save the dates and invitations as we didn't feel the expense would add much value to our wedding. Well... Flash forward a few months later to when we found Boris. After brainstorming some ideas (all by skype/email as we live on the other side of the country) he worked with us to develop some non-traditional designs we wanted (succulents, the two of us sharing a bowl of spaghetti, a menu-style invite), and was able to transform them into something really special and elegant that set the tone for the event. Friends and family have continued to comment on how much they enjoyed receiving our unique stationary in the mail. Where do I begin? I cannot thank Boris and his company enough for making my proposal as special as it was. I am glad I found him and I am honored to have him be part of our special day. I went to a wedding that Boris was doing portraits and it was such a fun time! Basically, you go and sit (you sometimes have to sign up because lots of other people want their portraits done too) and he will draw your likeness in about 10 minutes. He gives you the option of having a caricature or something more serious/realistic (I chose caricature) and it's done with this very pretty light-colored markers. The final product is beautiful and yours to keep. You can have a wedding or other event and get a photo booth but really, how many more photo booths photos can you have on your fridge?
