I booked a retwist appointment weeks in advance, and on the day of my appointment, the stylist, Heather, asked me to come in two hours early. I explained that I couldn't because I would have to leave work early. She responded that "she didn't ask me to take off" which rubbed me the wrong way since I had already told her no. About an hour later, she canceled my appointment, saying she was "uncomfortable" servicing me. The entire situation felt rude, unprofessional, and inconsiderate. Clients schedule appointments around their own responsibilities too, and it's unfair to expect people to rearrange their whole day last minute due to the stylist preference. No means no. Reliable scheduling and communication should go both ways. read more

In my rushed efforts to find a stylist my last day in town I was referred here. With bad weather in Dallas the shop was open and fully operational. Even though my appointment stylist was unable to make it they have a team of stylist that are great enough to fit me in between their other clients. So So So greatful they didn't turn me away. So my stylist Nyke welcomed me in and got right to it. Even when I was waiting for the next steps I felt waited on. I feel the service is very efficient (in and out) with very clean amenities. 10/10 and this is my first visit. Will be back! Very happy with results! read more

I did a walk in on Saturday morning. I walked in on faith the last few experiences I had with shops had been rough. But not here! It was a great experience when I got to the door. I told them I was a walk-in. They told me is would be about a 1.5 hour wait. I took my seat on the black bench and enjoyed the shop camaraderie. Queen Chan started my hair process about a hour after I got there. The best wash I have had in a long time and a sweet deep conditioning. After that my locs were retwisted and I was sat under the dryer. Out by 1! That was a miracle for a Saturday walk-in. read more

The shop was absolutely adorable, and easy to find even for a geographically challenged person such as myself. It was clean, quiet, good music, and an overall chill vibe. They offer two drinks, which was nice. They were social distancing, as each chair had a space of an empty station in between when I was there. And mask are required. I walked in early for my 9 o'clock by a few minutes, and Nyke didn't even hesitate to set her breakfast down and start working on me. She was open to answering all questions during the consultation, and even after despite my thick hair causing her to spend extra time. The wash she gave with those nails was LIFE! She was professional, though busy. My hair can be knotty, and despite me giving the "I'm not tender headed, so do ya thang" disclaimer - she was still gentle and a few times I almost drifted to sleep. My starters came out great, and she let me know what areas needed to be trimmed for best results. Overall, quite the great experience. UPDATE: I've had two retwist appointments, and each appointment has had to be rescheduled due to issues on their end. I was told my stylist wasn't there, only to come in with another stylist, and the original was there with another client at the time they rescheduled me for. Another was less than 48 hours before my appointment before Christmas (with no appointments available for a time I needed until 10 days later). They didn't call - they just rescheduled me for an inconvenient time, & I was only notified by a confirmation of appointment reschedule by text message. I love the work they do, my hair is always nice. But I can't keep up with the inconsistency for appointments as I work two jobs & go to school. Unfortunately I'll be moving on to another salon & docking a star. read more

Customer service is lacking. For a simple loc retwist it's not bad. I ordered some blonde loc extensions and when I asked for updates I didn't get a response until they arrived. I also wanted them colored and sent picture examples but I didn't hear anything for over 2 months. After never getting a response to my messages I just drove to the shop (from Austin) to get my locs and no color had been added to them. So I still have blonde locs that took months to get. Second time around here, my original stylist, which nothing less of phenomenal referred me to Rae as I wanted to get a thinning dread repaired and the retwist. How about Rae canceled my appointment last minute, saying I didn't add all the details to the appointment. How about getting a more innovative app for booking so that all the services can be selected that's needed. Crowned By Queens(All Female) Barbershop 2607 S. 2nd Ave., Dallas, TX 75210 The atmosphere is dope, warm, rustic, masculine. Think...man cave spa. This is a spot you can get your hair loc'd, nails and feet(fellas we need this too) edge up and shave. Either way, Dotie does and amazing job. DO NOT book with this salon! Very unprofessional. This business was recommended to me. I booked an appt for a Sisterlocks trim online. Their website says that they don't service Sisterlocks so 8 days before my appt I texted the stylist I booked with to confirm the details of my appt. I live in Little Rock, AR. This salon is 5 hrs away in Dallas, TX. My appt was confirmed by email and text in the days leading up to my appt. Then 90 MINUTES before my appt (while I was on the road) I received a text that my appt had been canceled. I called the salon. The stylist texted me back saying they don't "service" Sisterlocks. I clarified that I simply wanted a trim. Most locks salons don't "service" or retie Sisterlocks, but they do wash, color, and trim them. Anyway, the text exchange ended with no response. The appt time passed and my hair never got trimmed. I think this could have been handled more professionally. Very disappointed. read more

I ventured in for a silk press during my Winter Break. I had a good experience and was very thrilled with my results. Dotie has a lively assistant who is full of joy that is very professional and friendly. She handles everything outside of Dotie's chair. Dotie was very professional as well and informed me of the products she would be using on my hair and answered any questions I had. She tends to the work which is fine by me as I am not a talker. I am more of a relaxer so I may even go to sleep from time to time. It's my retreat. Anywho, my hair was fabulous and I would definitely recommend her and will go again in the future. I love her location as well. She is in the Casa Linda area in Dallas,TX so getting to her was very convenient for me. Her suite was clean and comfortable. I never had to wait either. Her assistant took me to the shampoo bowl immediately and I was steadily moved throughout my appointment. I value customer service, efficiency, low wait times and quality outcomes and I got that all. I know that probably over 90% of her clientele are locs but she definitely has the silk press down too. My hair is very coarse and thick so I am vouching. Highly recommend. read more

Customer Service is deceitful I'm a black business supporter!!! True to it, but the customer service I received at this salon was horrible. I actually visited this salon a few months prior ( I walked in because I was not familiar with how things worked) My mother and I sat there for about 20 minutes and no one assisted us... so we left... Honestly that was the first red flag. I decided to visit again in 2021 of February because I had been following the owner on Instagram... This time I booked a consultation on the website. I was given the option to choose a stylist ... I chose the administrative assistant, who is also a stylist,because the owner was not an option to choose from.. I'm thinking the administrative assistant would do an excellent job ... I had a consultation with her and she never even touched my hair... I told her my concerns... she assured me the job could be done...she suggested that I get small loc's... As I was leaving the owner asked to see my hair and suggested that I get extra small loc's....100 extra small loc's... The hair cost around 700 dollars... When I was ready to get an install, I attempted to make an appointment by phone...I never ever got an answer... I reached out through Instagram... spoke to the owner about booking an appointment... The first thing she asked was if I had my hair handy...Second red flag...I would have never attempted to make an appointment if I didn't... She told me someone would call me shortly and asked for my phone number... I was a bit confused because I had a consultation.. there should have been a record of it... my number on file, my requests that I made for my hair should have been recorded... But she asked me to send pictures...even though I had a consultation... perhaps the pictures should be taken during the consultation... I did as she asked and about 3 to 4 hours I received a call from a stylist that I never met...The only reason I believe I got that call was because I kept contacting the owner through Instagram... The administrative assistant that I had the consultation didn't contact me. Turns out my consultation was with someone who was training to install loc's, at least this is what I was later told from my stylist. So basically I had a consultation with someone who couldn't do my hair at all... They just took my money... Silly me... I'm excited and I really want my hair done so I agree to book with Nyke ... I again explained exactly how I wanted my hair to look... she said no problem... I had to cash app her half of the money... Which I was uncomfortable with because you don't get a receipt... When I paid for the consultation I paid through their website...for some reason I wasn't able to pay my deposit through the website...or at least that is what I was told..perhaps she just wanted the money to come straight to her..who knows... The day of my appointment this young lady tells me that I'm won't have100 loc's... I asked her how many would I have but she wasn't able to tell me...I assumed at least it would be close to 100 loc's... However when she was done I had around 58 loc's....which means I lost over 200 bucks purchasing hair that I couldn't return... She proclaimed " loc to hair ratio" after I expressed my disappointment with her work...I asked for fullness with no style or tightening of my roots...I told her the parts that I wanted but she did something totally different...My parts are spaced out too much and my edges are exposed..and I have no middle part... She said I did ask for one... I'm sure that every woman reading this review would want a middle part and a left and right side part... it's Automatic.. smh This young lady assured me that she could do what I asked and she did the complete opposite... She later told me that she would have suggested that I get micro loc's... which let me know that she knew she couldn't provide the service I asked for in the first place... she simply took my money... 3 stylists told me three different things which is totally unacceptable...not to mention confusing and negligent... If I would have purchased the small loc's as I was advised by Bree... I guess Nyke would have installed 25 loc's in my hair... This was clearly a rush job... At one point my stylist was about to eat chicken while doing my hair and I told her to take a break... she's pregnant...I get it... I went to my car to make a call and before I knew it she was texting me ... I was told that the install would take 8 hours but It took half the time because she did half the work... She rushed through my hair, because she was more interested in hooking up with the person she was speaking with on the phone... The excuses she made about the poor customer service was unacceptable... She claimed to be busy, but I witnessed people taking breaks, eating, and leaving. She took the time out to take my deposit... I found this shop, went in and was amazed at how great the service was and timing. I was running a few minutes behind and still got serviced as soon as I walked through the door. Today I started my loc journey. I was super stoked to start a new relationship as I start a new journey in life. I've been trying to book an appointment for two weeks. I finally was able to get in for an appointment. I book with Rae. She texted for her confirmation and request. Two hours before my appointment she requested that time gets pushed back. I compromise because I know how work can get backed up sometimes but also mention I like early appointments due to me having to work. I get there a little before my appointment time and I walk in. The owner greets me but it's dry and everyone else just stares and says not one word. I brush it off and head to the shampoo bowl per the owner's request. I get shampooed and get places under a dryer for a deep conditioning. I'm waiting and waiting. The stylist I booked with has two other clients. Mind you I am a licensed cosmetology and very particular about my hair. Rae comes and tells me the assistant Shimmy will be doing much consultation. Next thing I know shimmy is placing me in a seat and saying she's gonna start me off. She is already busy she has consultations talking to ppl and I'm just in the seat. My appointment was at 10 and got pushed to 11 by this time it's like 1/2pm already I've basically seen everybody leave, come in and leave. Shimmy is talking to me and I'm expressing my concerns. The owner of the shop is two seats down doing some extensions and not once offers anything an apology ask what's wrong. Instead she wants to take shots with the Gemini's who have come and gone out of the shop. I appreciate Shimmy she was definitely a whole vibe and apologized many times but I don't feel that was her wrong doing. The person I booked with Rae had no communication and was right next to me hearing everything and said nothing. I witnessed her having at least 4 more clients coming in at the same time. I did not leave the shop until about 4pm. After staying I work and this should be the time that I am clocking in. I was here from 11am-4pm for simple comb coils. There is no point in having a booking system and not using it to the best of your ability. She also had a girl that booked for extensions and acted clueless and had no idea what she was there for and was not prepared. I get it sometimes you can be overbooked but handle Paying customers accordingly. I know a lot of ppl and my reputation and word of mouth is pretty wide ranged. I work hard for my money and services are not cheap and neither is my time. I will not be returning with my business nor will I be recommending! read more
