After a bit of searching, I stumbled upon a place called 'Good Hair Day Salon', and let me tell you, the name totally delivers! I seriously couldn't have made a better choice. Booking was a breeze, too; I just zipped through it on the Vagaro app. I was looking for a fresh start, so I scheduled a relaxer, a new cut, and a fantastic style. And then I met LaTarah, my stylist - she was an absolute dream! From the moment I sat down, I felt completely at ease. She really listened to what I wanted and worked her magic. I needed to get my side bangs trimmed, and also a blowout with a styling and they got me in for me a couple hours later. It was my first time there as well. When I first walked in, I honestly thought it was a boutique because they also sell clothing and stuff and they immediately asked me if I wanted something to drink and I was so tired. I said a coffee and I was not expecting them to have different milk options! The guy was so kind and asking me if I wanted anything else, and I just felt really nice and welcomed. I'll insert some photos of the coffee because it came in the coolest mug I've ever seen. I honestly need to get my hands on it. The coffee was also amazing. I got it with oat milk and they did that little latte art on top. I don't know they went above and beyond. onto the actual service: I got put in with Lauren, who before I go on with this review I have to let you guys know: She's the SWEETEST most professional BEST stylist I think I've ever had in my life. I'm being completely honest. I have really thin hair and every time I have tried to get a side bang everyone tells me that it's not possible because my hair is so thin that it would make me look like I'm balding on top if I try to take any front hairs away. I showed her my reference pictures and how I really wanted side bangs if it was possible but if not, it's OK just a trim on my regular curtain bangs and she was shocked that anybody would say I couldn't get them done. I'm 28 years old and I've never gotten told that it was something that could look good on me and not only did she do them, but I don't think I've ever been happy with bangs ever in my life. She also curled my hair to perfection cause normally when I ask for curly blowout waves, I get these really identical looking waves that are pretty much only curly at the bottom and it's just not really what I'm looking for, but she gave me this natural curl that had volume, and it was just beautiful. I'm actually planning on getting a full haircut with her in two weeks because I think she's the only person who I can trust with my hair forever. I also saw a bunch of other people there getting their haircuts, and these girls were walking out with the cutest haircuts ever. You know like those haircuts you see on Instagram and Pinterest and you think you'll get that when you go to a regular salon, but you end up with a kind of normal looking haircut and not at all what the Pinterest girl has? OK well this salon GIVES you that Pinterest hair. The places like 40 minutes away from me and even with that it has to become the new place. I get my haircut because it was just amazing and everybody was so sweet and not only mine but everybody's haircut that I saw walking out. That door was incredible. I was also thinking of just not reviewing this place at all and gatekeeping it because I swear Lauren ever gets so booked up that I can't get an appointment with her. I'm gonna have to look chopped until she has a slot available, but it felt wrong because I know that when I was looking for a salon, it would've saved my life to find this place earlier.

Laura, who did my hair, was very sweet and polite -- this review is not about her personality, but about the service. I had an important photo shoot for my business the same day, so I was very clear about what I wanted: a lot of volume and defined curls. I specifically mentioned wanting more curl and body. Unfortunately, the styling did not reflect that at all. At first, my hair was styled using just a brush, which resulted in very loose waves -- not curls. I expressed that this wasn't what I asked for and requested more curl. She then used a curling iron, but it didn't change the result. My hair ended up looking almost the same as before, with little to no curl or volume. No rollers were used, no setting spray, and nothing that would actually help the curls hold. I didn't want to complain a second time, but I left feeling really disappointed. The final result honestly looked like something I could have done myself at home, which is frustrating considering I paid, drove 20 minutes, and was counting on this service for an important shoot. Laura mentioned that layers would help, but I don't believe that was the issue -- it felt more like a lack of technique and attention to achieving the look I clearly asked for. The salon is cute and the staff is very nice, but if you're booking for something important and need volume, curls, or polished styling, I would recommend going somewhere else where more care and technique are used -- especially for the price.

And they ghosted me at the last minute. I was going out of town, so I had to look for someone to do my hair. I found Grace. She was actually able to fit me in the very next day. They did an excellent job; even though the person who was supposed to do my hair had picked out very bad hair. They still used it anyway. I was very grateful. They were very very kind and gentle. They did an outstanding job! The braids were beautiful and on point, I got Boho braids. I'm tender headed, so I was prepared to hurt, but they did not braid my brain. My head was sore, but I didn't get a headache. Again, though I'm tender headed. The braids were on point as they should be without being too tight.
