My child attends the Early Engineer class during their school's after school time and she really likes it. This is her 3rd year taking the class and it is the only class she actually wants to participate in after school even though there are many other fun and educational offerings at her school (from Dream Enrichment Classes as well as other vendors/providers). This year has been her favorite b/c she really likes her teacher Ms. Tina. She says there's much more freedom to interact with other students and the noise level/interactivity isn't as much a concern with this teacher as previous ones so then the kids are more free to really get into their various weekly projects. Even though my daughter isn't especially into science/engineering/other STEM subject matters, she loves EE. She says it's just so fun and interesting. I'm glad for this program at her school and hope it continues. She enjoys it so much and the pictures they take show how much all the kids learn through all the weekly challenging projects. It is not cheap, per se, but for less than $400 for a whole school year's worth of classes, averaging out to less than $20 per class, my husband and I feel it's a good investment of time and money for our little one. We're glad she likes EE and hope she'll continue to grow in knowledge and understanding of STEM through this and other similar enrichment classes, even if she doesn't enter into a STEM career path, we still want her to be enriched through these experiences. read more

If only I can give ZERO star! They cancelled the winter camp last minute due to location issue, and now we are left with no care for winter recess. Because of Dream enrichment winter camp, we cancelled the other arrangement that we got into before decided to enroll in Dream winter camp. This is not the first time Dream cancelled a camp due to location issue! Refund alone is UNACCEPTABLE, and we expect a better compensation than that! Very terrible place. I was hired by an Indian guy who selected me because of my loss of income and need to support my family instead of my experience teaching kids. I only worked for three weeks and got terminated (by the women who observed two of my classes) after failing the third observation, which is obviously done when a new instructor teaches a class. I really wish I dipped after the first day of training, where we all had to read several pages of rules, or anytime before I received all the supplies for my classes. That way, I don't have to teach nor keep the supplies. Since I was assigned to teach Honeycode, even though I wanted to teach chess, I was responsible for charging over 12 laptops! Now that I think of it, I should've either threatened to quit if I cannot teach chess or said to those ugly women that the Indian guy forced me to do Honeycode, which is why I wasn't passionate when teaching. I really wish there was more training for noobs like me and that they can have me work in a different position if the instructor position is not right for me. Instead, I got treated like shit, had unrealistic expectations, and received no help whatsoever. Don't get me wrong, this business has good intentions and is supposed to help children after school. However, they cannot get away with false job advertising. If instructors need teaching experience, THEN MENTION THAT! If they don't, THEN OFFER AN EASIER POSITION PLEASE! read more

My 9 year old just completed his 2nd week of camp. The first week was a computer coding camp, and this week was a stop motion/animation camp. I'm not exaggerating when I say that he came home everyday energized from camp activities and their projects. He hugged me and thanked me for signing him up. What's great about that is he whined in the car on each Monday about going to camp from 9am-2pm, and having to go 2 weeks in a row. But after his first day each week, he couldn't wait to go back! The instructors each week were wonderful and I could tell the kids related to them. I know from reading about Dream Enrichment that it's a small business, so I couldn't be happier to give them such a well-deserved, great review. This place used to be great, but no longer. A rude teacher and on site director lend a whole new feeling to this camp. Heavy punishment for kid like behavior including punishing the whole group by restricting access to toys for one child's misbehavior. This was a class for six year olds! This is the only teacher my child has ever complained about. I also overheard lots of criticism to parents about their kids behavior. Probably due to her lack of classroom management skills. Finally, I had to take turns with my husband for the final show because of a sleeping child. She had the audacity to tell me my baby should just miss his nap! Rude! My 6 year old just completed a week of summer camp with our local CSD and she had such a blast. All of the instructors were super sweet and she would come home telling us about all of the amazing things that she learned in class (a very basic intro to coding). She made some new friends and had a great time learning (and staying entertained which is sometimes hard in the summer!). My son attended his Early Engineers class last school year and absolutely LOVED IT!!! The classes are engaging, hands-on, individual and group oriented. They use various different types of building materials from Legos to K'nex to everything in between all the while learning about physics. This class awakens the scientific minds of children. I really liked that a paper would be sent home talking about what was learned, including some vocabulary words and some definitions. My daughter is in 2nd grade and has been attending this class at her school for about two months now. She is really enjoying it and it has opened her eyes to new toys (mainly CitiBlocs) and new career possibilities - YAY! My only complaint is the age grouping. My daughter is grouped with K-2nd kids and, in my opinion, kindergarten kids should have their own group or no class at all. They don't have all of the skills for this class so they take the majority of the instructors time, which is very unfortunate. We absolutely loved Early Engineers this last school year! My son took it after school at Theodore Judah and he really looked forward to his class each week. Not only was it fun, but educational as well. After discussing what they were going to be building in class, he also walked away with a worksheet each week that showed him how to recreate the project at home and talked about what they built. This is our 3rd summer using Dream Enrichment Camps, and I am always so blown away!! My kids have done the Engineering, Firefly Art and Honeycoding camps in the past. This summer, my son will also try out the Stop Motion Animation camp. This is the first website I look at when planning our summer activities. They are professional, the teachers are exceptional, their customer service is outstanding.... but more than that, the content they cover at each camp is truly amazing! I absolutely loved, valued, and truely enjoyed working here, that is until I participated in a Summer Camp. I experienced so much drama between staff members it was horrible. I attempted to quit/ put in a two week notice and was denied that right because the guy said I was being "emotional" staff was also very limited to the point where one six hour summer camp teacher had 16 students, and trust me it was hard and also against summer camp polices/ laws stated by the state to have that many students under the care of one UNcertified teacher. Overall just drama, the programs are great, but from an employee view it's pure drama, coworkers talking about one another, office staff making lies to get others fired etc. stay clear of this company if you seek employment! read more

My 10-year-old daughter took the Stop Motion Animation camp and absolutely loved it. Stop motion takes a lot of time and patience, which aren't her strong suits, but the camp leaders and the projects got her so inspired that she invested a lot into her work and was thrilled with the results. It is a great program because it helps him to socialize in a natural setting doing something he loves. My son just completed the Honey Code Camp. On my goodness! I've never seen him so excited. As soon as he got home every day, he wanted to tell us all about his day and he wanted to do extra work to program his game. He now wants to be a computer programmer when he grows up. My son attends Oak Meadow Elementary School in El Dorado Hills. This is his third Early Engineers class session. These classes take place on Tuesdays right after school, on his campus. They are an hour long. He really enjoys attending these classes, and looks forward to going. At our school there are two teachers, usually in a different classroom. Kindergarten through 2nd and sometimes 3rd grade, and 3rd grade through 5th grade, which helps the teachers to teach to the child's abilities and understanding. Every week they have a flyer sent home with your child that explains the "Key Words", "Food For Thought" , and "Facts" that was covered in class pertaining to that particular project. Early Engineers instructors use different materials each week to complete the lesson. Materials used can be: Legos, Citiblocs, Play-Doh, K'Nex, etc. They use engineering concepts, and describe basic engineering principles in easy to understand language and demos. Concepts like conductivity, lift, thrust, amplitude, and many others are covered. The instructor is always positive and encourages creativity. She has good control over the class, and really motivates the children to try new things, and use their heads. She is always taking pictures of the kids finished projects and gives us a gallery to go to online to see what they have made. This class is perfect for boys or girls. We have an even mix in our class. Worth the money to have an educational, and fun after school activity. read more

My son attended a session in Davis and neither he nor I was happy with it. He was in the younger group (K-3) and I felt the size was too large. Lessons were loud and chaotic. The teacher was often absent and so different substitutes came regularly. There was no real consistency from one week to another. I was disappointed. We will not be enrolling again. read more
