Jonathan handled it exceptionally well from start to finish. One of the things that really sets Jonathan apart is his ability to understand a customer's vision and turn it into reality. He is genuinely willing to take on challenges and explore solutions that may be outside the typical scope of landscape construction. Rather than steering customers toward what is easiest or most familiar, Jonathan takes the time to understand what they want and works hard to figure out how to make it happen. That willingness to go beyond his comfort zone in order to deliver what the customer envisions is something we really appreciated. Despite the size and complexity of the job, he completed the project on time and within budget, which is something that is increasingly hard to find in landscape construction. The quality of the workmanship was excellent, and he was committed to making sure everything was done right. What really impressed us, though, was what happened two years after the project was completed. We recently had a few landscape lights that needed attention, and Jonathan came out and repaired them at no charge. He claimed that he thought the appt was the day before, either way, I was home all day, no one called or texted. He said he tried, but neither went through. I gave him another chance, we set a time for Monday, the next day. At 1:20pm I got a text confirming he would be there at 3pm. No one showed. He never answered the phone or returned my text to see if everything was ok. I sent a long text the next day, no response at all. This is low bar for professionalism. He doesn't show up, can't return a call or text, why even bother. So very disappointed!

David met with us a couple times and gave us several recommendations on what was possible and where to go to pick out materials. Note that everything about this build was custom. We provided David with a general layout, picked out the materials and David and his team did an excellent job of bringing it to life. David and his crew handled every aspect of the build including general construction, electrical, plumbing and gas lines. I found David to be easy to work with, very responsive and transparent about costs and timing. We did make some changes along the way, which David was more than happy to accommodate. Each change and addition resulted in an amendment to the original quote so we always knew what we were being charged. We also added a few additional landscape jobs which David was able to seamlessly incorporate into the kitchen build. David's crew members were a pleasure to work with. They were always respectful of our property and did an excellent job cleaning up the work site at the end of each day. Ultimately, we got exactly what we wanted and are very happy with the final product. I would highly recommend Groundworks Landscape Co for any type of outdoor project. I am an interior designer so I had high standards for how the process would get to the end result. Joslyn, the landscape designer, starts the process. She came over to see my sad patch of weeds for a yard. I told her my wish list and the aesthetic I was going for. She drew up the most beautiful plans and right from the get go I could see my vision and her design come to life. Joslyn gets it. SHE REALLY GETS IT. After the design phase, we smoothly transitioned into 'budgeting phase'. That is when Jon takes over and goes over pricing and budget. He is very honest and clear about what can be done and not done within the allotted budget. Although we couldn't get everything we wanted, (due to budget), we were happy with what we ended up choosing to achieve 90% of the backyard we dreamed of. After budgeting, we scheduled the work to be done. When production started, the crew started on time and began working on time and extremely professionally. From the start I could see they really cared about their craft, as the work was done beautifully and professionally. Matt and Marcus became our buds. I can't say enough about how meticulous and thorough of a job they did every step of the way, we REALLY appreciated that. They knew how much this backyard meant to us, and they did everything in their power to deliver us an excellent experience all through the process.
