There's no clear view of the daycare portion of this place. The fence outside has an ugly black tarp all the way around it, and the inside is very closed off. I had that really uneasy feeling but thought it was just "first time mom" nerves. I had seen good reviews about this place, and it was really busy with several people dropping their dogs off for the day, so I figured I was just being overly protective and was just in the middle of the morning chaos. When I arrived in the afternoon to pick my dog up, they brought her out to me caked in mud and smelling like dog pee. She looked as if she was on the bottom of a dog pile getting pummeled by other dogs all day. My dog, who never wants to leave anywhere that I take her, was desperately trying to get into my car before I could even get the door open. This review unfortunately doesn't stop here. I got my dog home and gave her a much-needed bath because of all the caked on mud and smelling like dog pee, and as I was washing her paws I noticed LARGE slices in BOTH sets of pads on the bottom of her paws. It truly looked like someone took a knife and sliced my dog's paws open. I had to take her to the vet and they said that if the cuts had gone any deeper it could have caused significant tissue damage. When I called Bark Central to speak with someone about my dog's injuries, I was told by the staff on the phone that my dog had been playing on the "gravel lot" and the gravel may have cut her feet. No concern on the other end of the line, no apologies or offering to make the situation better. I was given the runaround - "I'll tell the manager to call you." I never received a return phone call. Needless to say, my dog will never return to this awful place, but I will tell everyone that I know to never take their dog to this hell hole. Listen to your gut, and ask for a proper tour.

Most were booked & I found Tamora on google maps. I found positive reviews but no website so I called. She had an opening & seemed very nice over the phone. She said she wasn't booked because she doesn't advertise. The day of drop off at 8:00 am, she called & said she had some medical issues with her arm going numb & was waiting for her Dr to call. She said she would call back when she was ready for him. At 11:00am she called & said we could bring him over. So we gathered up his stuff & headed her way. We pulled in at 11:43am, 13 minutes after our originally scheduled time. As soon as we pulled in, my phone rang & she said "I thought you were bringing your dog this morning". She had us meet her at a side door to the kennel. The outdoor runs are gravel laying on the ground. It's not possible to fully clean urine & feces out of those rocks with a pressure washer. We put him in the kennel she pointed to & told her he drinks a lot of water. She grabbed a large bucket of water that was already filled 3/4 of the way from another kennel & put it in his kennel! Reusing water from the last dog? The reservation was 6/30-7/6 but plans got messed up. On 7/2 we called to say we would pick him up 7/3. For 5 minutes all she did was complain about how horrible our dog was. He knocked over his bucket of water & she had to clean it up. The water soaked his blankets, which we brought from home, which made them extremely heavy to carry. He pushed his food bowl with his nose & knocked it over so she had to put a big rock in it. She said she's never had so much trouble with a dog before ..... my husband said "do you want us to just come right now?", she said "yes & I only take cash". She also made the comment over & over while she was complaining that she should charge us extra for all the extra work she had to do!!!! We pull in, my husband knocks on the door & I go back to the kennel. His door was closed to the outside kennel! How does she expect him to poop outside if she's in the house in the AC & leaves the doors shut so the dogs can't go outside?!?! She opens the door to let us in & his wet blankets are laying in front of his cage, a huge rock sitting inside of a small bowl that barely fit 2 cups of food & the water container was hooked to the kennel, which is where it should have been in the first place. She started pointing to the blankets, to the water bucket, the bowl & was complaining non stop. I said "the water buckets should always be hooked for larger dogs so they can't knock them over & he knocked the food over because he was probably bored." My husband was putting the wet blankets in a trash bag & I was getting him out of the cage while she was non stop going off. Then she looks at my husband with an attitude & says "are you gonna pay me?". I couldn't believe her attitude & I pulled his leash & walked out the door. We gave her an extra $10. I put him in the back of the car & jumped in to turn the AC on. We were both so mad, we got out of there before we really told her how we felt. We got about 15 minutes down the road & stopped for food & to get him a treat but when we checked on him, we saw this horrible wound on his snout!!! He was only there for 3 days/2 nights!!! I called & asked her how he got it & she said she never saw anything on his nose. I offered to send her a picture via email or text but she apparently doesn't have those or didn't want to offer them. She kept giving me excuses that dogs like to root around with their noses & my husband hung up the phone. She called back twice after that & I didn't answer. She left voicemails stating that she didn't do anything to him & would like us to stop by do she can see it herself. She changed her attitude & said he had a great disposition, he just did a few bad things. We live 20 minutes from this kennel & the last thing I'm doing is going back there!! He has been home now for 3 days/2 nights & he's still very quiet, depressed & not himself at all. He seems like he was really traumatized & anybody who knows our dog, knows he is high energy all the time. We are so mad & upset & the only thing I know to do is write reviews letting people know what happened there. I wish he could talk & tell me.

On a whim visiting family, I decided to give a new groomer's a shot. Her prices were comparable to what I would expect from anywhere locally, and definitely cheaper than urban areas. She was very friendly and it was easy to get scheduled within a few days. I appreciated simply being able to just text or speak directly with her. The location is convenient - downtown, but with plenty of parking space in free lot. It is close enough to walk to Montezuma's, and a short drive to run errands at Martin's, CVS, Truist, Post Office, etc. The business is inside of a little strip mall. Her salon space is very, very clean and tidy. You can see into what appears to be the main grooming area. In comparison to both PetsMart and small/private groomer's I was impressed... In the best way possible, it did not sound or smell like a dog groomer's. It was quiet. She was grooming a gorgeous Husky when I came inside. She was completing some artistic styling with multi-colored sections of the coat with stars, etc. I know nothing about the technique used, but the design was crisp and neat. I was equally impressed that the dog was so relaxed and comfortable having her complete this. My own terrier wasn't terrified when I left, nor did he have Puppy Traumatic Stress Disorder when I returned for him. He looked great - this was definitely the best haircut + claw care that he has ever had. He has a soft and dark coat, but he looked gorgeous with an ideal, breed-specific style. The price felt like a good value - I was very satisfied both in her pleasantness and professionalism all around. Finally, despite having seen her 3 weeks ago and in summer, my dog smells beautiful. I have no idea what products specifically she used in grooming him, but it's miraculous. He didn't have any skin irritation or dander afterwards, nor does he smell "perfumed." Just clean-smelling, soft fur. I would take him back just for the smell of the shampoo alone... So, all in all, I would definitely recommend her services without reservations. The whole experience and quality of his grooming, AND ease of scheduling, cleanliness, and smell were outstanding. I plan on trying to coordinate future appointments for when I'm in town and able.
