Brought the fam jam for a special treat out. Unfortunately, they were out of sago bubbles and didn't have 1/2 of the other stuff we asked for. Pretty disappointed given that this is a bubble tea house and you are paying a premium for a drink. My fave here out of our group was the Earl Grey Salted Milk Top. The yogurt bubbles were okay... I think it would have been much better with sago. The inside is bright with numerous seating options and they've got a little shelf with games (though it was empty when we were there). They do offer a few snack food options - thought there was signage over some pics saying "not offered at this location." Um, then why have the picture and the sign? Also, be prepared to wait here. People were lined up out the door when we were leaving about 10pm. Someone commented that they waited about 30 minutes and I was like uh-oh, I hope they are okay with being out of sago bubbles :-( Can't say I'd make it a priority to come back here given the fact that there are at least a dozen other options in town for bubble tea.

    Sustainable straws!

You can't go wrong with Dream Tea. I've always had a 5/5 experience at this location. My favourite boba here is the "Dream" (fitting)! It is a mixture of Taro and Coconut with tapioca pearls and lychee jelly. If that doesn't get you going I don't know what will, seriously. Its amazing. The boba is always pretty big as well - don't worry I always finish it. Service is great and the boba is usually ready really fast. I find if you come around 3PM it's usually not too busy. I've found it to be very busy during about 5 PM. There is a seating area and they also serve some snacks like fries and onion rings if you feel like staying. I often see people here just hanging out. One thing that I noticed recently that I really loved was that they've moved towards more sustainable straws! I thought this was awesome. I've never seen this at any other place before, so I'm happy to support Dream Tea if they're making an effort to be more eco-conscious! :)

    Taiwanese chicken bento box ($10.99)

Dream Tea House has FOUR locations now? Seriously, whyyyyyyyy. Located in the sadly departed digs of Bistro Saison (RIP you rare French bistro), they've done some renovations but randomly kept the Eiffel tower mirage. I was wondering why there was French inspired design on the walls but don't worry, it all makes sense now. The inside is pretty spacious compared to most bubble tea places in town. Quite modern and clean looking with a few booths and tables set up. I should probably confess that I've never been a big fan of Dream Tea even though they've been around for years. Mediocre and overrated in my books. But after going out for dinner with the 'ol squash team, we got screwed trying to go to Dessert Island(their hours aren't the best - queue sad face) so we weren't left with many alternatives for a late night hang out. The Oliver Square location has a hugeeeeeee menu. But seriously, what's with the prices? It's almost $7 for a fresh fruit bubble tea. That's just absurd. - 2x Dream, mango tango, red bean and cap tea ($5.25 each) - let's see, two of my buds went with the Dream (taro mixed with coconut) which comes with tapioca and lychee jelly. I went with the mango tango (mango and pineapple) and subbed for grass jelly. Red bean is pretty straightforward and cap tea is a new item on their menu (dare I say copying Gama Café). My bubble tea was pretty meh. Like I said, it's pretty sad that there's no one in town that can make a quality BBT. Business opportunity?! - Taiwanese chicken bento box ($10.99) - came with rice, salad, Taiwanese chicken, and yam fries. The chicken was lightly seasoned and surprisingly done well. Salad was as my friend put it, a bunch of lettuce pieces. Pretty sad effort there. Yam fries were okay but could have used more time in the deep fryer. But hey, who comes for real food at a bubble tea shop? Grab as a snack only. Honestly, quality bubble tea just doesn't exist in Edmonton. Do yourself a favour and skip out on Dream Tea's. So meh.

I'm getting right into bubble tea! Each time I order a different flavour because I'm trying to find my favourite. This time I tried avocado and it's by far the best I've had. So filling and yummy! The avocado is sweetened just the right amount and the tapioca balls were fresh and chewy. I ordered my 2 year old her first bubble tea, the mango flavour. She thought getting the balls was a funny game and enjoyed it. My hubby tried the butter beer bubble tea. This one was too sweet for me, but he was happy with his choice. The place itself was quite aside from our table playing games, chatting and enjoying our beverages. We also ordered two portions of fries which they put into one basket. The portions were small but it was only a dollar when you order a bubble tea on a Tuesday to add fries to your order. Quite a good deal actually. So far tastiest bubble tea for me, the decor wasn't much to write about although I did appreciate the couple of sofas they had for chilling with groups. When you park outside you need to remember to add your licence plate to the digital tracker they have at the cashier. Otherwise you'll get a ticket. I'll defo be back to try more!

Shrimp Tempura. Tasty, and nice dipping sauce.

I am not a fan of bubble tea, but I was introduced to Dream Tea by a friend, who very much likes their Green Onion Cakes. She asked me to stop by to pick up an order to add to a dinner menu. That was a Sunday, about 5:30PM, and the place was not very busy. I waited in line for about 10 minutes while the counter staff muddled through the ordering process, which gave me time to peruse the menu, which is surprisingly large for a tea shop. I determined to come back and try some of the food at a future date. I eventually ordered and received my G.O. cakes, and they were well cooked and tasty. This simple transaction took about 20 minutes in total. Fast forward to yesterday, I was in Oliver and considering a bite and a coffee. I recalled Dream Tea had a large coffee menu, and figured I would try a couple of dishes and a Latte. I went in at about 2 PM and the place was busy and loud, with a lot of backpacks and electronics. It appears to be popular with the McEwan crowd. I got in the long line-up to the counter, which again gave me an opportunity to check out the menu. I decided on Shrimp Tempura ($5.95) and Spring Rolls ($3.95) As step by painful step I inched my way to the front of the line, it became apparent that a new counter person was being trained, and more attention was being paid to said training than to the growing line. When I reached the counter I placed my order only to be told, "No spring rolls..." I said, "Fine. Just the tempura and the Latte, please. The coffee order seemed to have them confused and flustered and I got the impression they do not sell much coffee. I was given a pager disk, and found myself an empty booth. The Shrimp Tempura came in good order, with 5 pieces served in a small fry basket, with dipping sauce. The portion size was decent and worth the price. Still no sign of my Latte... When I got called for my coffee, I went up to the counter to get it, but could not find a spot with sugar, and napkins, etc. When I asked I was told, "No sugar..." They offered to get me some in the kitchen, but my notion that they serve little coffee was supported. I said,"That's ok." and returned to my table. The tempura was tasty and enjoyable and helped fill the gap. My Latte was well made and as good as most, sugar not withstanding. This is a nice little place, though you can tell that there was not much investment, as one whole wall is a mural of Paris, left over from the ill fated French Bistro that preceded Dream Tea. One also gets the impression that the owners/operators do not have much restaurant experience. There is no flow or efficiency in their system, with the exception of the kitchen. Both dishes I have eaten were quite good, but the ordering and expediting needs much work. The staff, however inefficient, were pleasant and helpful and the place was clean. I consider it unlikely I will be returning.

Jasmine green milk tea with tapioca

We visited this Dream Tea house location after sushi dinner and a walk around the area. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had expanded their menu. Atmosphere: 3.5/5 Overall pleasant atmosphere. It was not too busy or loud; overall clean. We didn't stay too long as we decided to take our drinks out to walk around the area. Good location and adequate parking. Food / drink: 3.5/5 I was happy to see that they had expanded their milk tea menu to include types of tea other than the standard original black and green tea. This time, I decided on the Jasmine milk tea with tapioca but no sugar. The drink turned out milkier than I thought and was almost white, but was quite good. Tapioca was ok. Service: 4/5 Quick Price: 3/5 Reasonable for bubbletea Overall: 3.5/5 I would come again for a quick bubbletea and try some of their other menu options; the area is quite convenient and may be less busy / loud than some other locations.

Ordered the dream bubble tea that consisted of coconut and taro with lychee jelly and tapioca. The drink was okay. That tapioca pearls are some of the worse I have tried in a long time. I usually do not get pearls but this time I figured I would get some. They were chewy in the undercooked sort of way. They were just bad and not edible. We also stopped by at 10:30 pm as a group. The staff were very prompt to turn off the lights and stop the music right at 11 pm when there was still a crowd in the store. The staff were very blunt at sending the message that they were closing. 3 stars for the actual liquid portion of the drink and lychee jelly.

I've been to a couple of Tiger Sugar's in the past, but I never really found a drink on their menu…read morethat was perfect and not too sweet for me. But from what I ordered recently, I was pretty satisfied and finished up my drink quickly. I ordered the Earl Grey Milk Tea with boba, 25% sweetness and 25% ice. The sweetness level was exactly what I liked in a boba drink. The boba pearls were nice and chewy. I didn't realize that I could get 3 toppings for 99 cents altogether, so next time I would get pudding too. Last time I got the Mango Sago drink at another location and it was just too sweet for me. I should've known because I couldn't adjust the sweetness and drinks tend to be too sweet for me in general. However the Earl Grey Milk Tea was such a great option for me. My boyfriend got the Taro Pudding Milk Tea. It was delicious. He couldn't adjust the sweetness, but I didn't think it was too sweet to enjoy. The taro pudding was delicious. There wasn't much space to sit inside. There was a large group at a seated in the middle, but we managed to get a table to ourselves at the very end. Inside the shop, they only have three tables. Service was quick, wait time wasn't too bad. There is a bathroom inside but it ended up being out of service when we went. Overall, I liked my drink. The menu is pretty extensive and there's a bunch of options to choose from.

They officially opened last week and I stopped by at my first opportunity. The space is fair small with just a few tables for those who want to eat in. Right now it is still decorated with tiger balloons for their grand opening. I ordered the strawberry mochi drink with oat milk and the staff member was kind enough to confirm that while they could do this drink with oat, it would still contain milk ingredients. While that isn't an issue for me, just a preference, I was happy that she checked to be safe. This drink might possibly be the prettiest tea I've ever had. It is full of colourful toppings and the cup was streaked with strawberry (their signature "tiger stripes"). After giving it a good shake, I took my tea to-go. My only very minor complaint is that their straws are very flimsy and I wasn't able to puncture the seal with it.

What started as a small home-based pandemic project has now grown into Tealicious Blend, a cute…read moreshop in St. Albert that offers not only a wide range of bubble tea but food options as well! Named as Favourite Handheld on the Edmonton Food Faves We Crave 2024 list, I had to make the drive up to St. Albert to check them out for myself! Located in a strip mall type of shopping area in the heart of St. Albert by the river you'll find Tealicious Blend's storefront. The outside signage advertises bubble tea, Korean egg sandwiches, wings, salads, and more. Stepping inside of the restaurant space on my Saturday evening visit I was greeted with a cheerful atmosphere straight out of any K-pop lover's dreams! (They were quite literally playing 'Golden' from KPop Demon Hunters as I walked in.) Faux cherry blossom branches decorate the space while bright lime green benches serve as seating. There's even a claw machine filled with plush versions of bubble tea that customers can challenge themselves to win (and people were continuously attempting to do so!). Everything about Tealicious Blend is upbeat and you can't help but feel the joyful and lighthearted vibes for the duration of your visit. The menu centers around two main items: Bubble Tea and Korean Egg Sandwiches. There's a small handful of other food offerings; including a bowl of tonkotsu ramen specially for "cold season" and even some hamburgers. However, most customers likely come in to try the popular Korean sandwiches. Tealicious Blend also has three different combos to choose from if you really want to build a meal out of your visit. I started my journey with a bubble tea - which sounds simple but with so many flavours to select from it always takes me way too long to make a decision. Milk tea is always a solid option and they're also serving the ever-trendy brown sugar type of bubble tea that is all the rage these days. In the end I found myself landing on the Taro Cheesecake ($8.50 for large) from the Cheesecake Series Milk Tea part of the menu. This drink is also on the "Best Sellers" list, which made it seem like a safe bet. As is standard in most bubble tea establishments, you are welcome to specify your preferred sugar level. For me, I always just want to enjoy my beverage as intended. I think that I also just really wanted something cute and purple to sip on if I'm being honest!! Taro milk tea was mixed with swirls of whipped "cheesecake" and the bottom of the cup was filled with chewy tapioca pearls. This bubble tea was very good and almost impossible to stop sipping (until there was none left). Taro, a tropical root vegetable, is known for its distinct purple hue and nutty vanilla-like flavour. Mixed with the sweet and tangy taste of the cheesecake, this bubble tea flavour could not go wrong! Next time I'll be interested to try Tealicious' Classic Milk Tea, the Match-A-Green Smoothie, or the Brown Sugar De Luxe. So many bubble teas, so little time!! For my meal I knew that I had to try one of the signature Korean Egg Sandwiches and I was pretty excited about it! There are twelve types to choose from, each one sounding interesting and delicious in its own way. Ultimately, my choice was made easy because they serve a Spam Egg Bite Sandwich (Fluffy scrambled egg, Spam, cheddar, cabbage, mayochup, egg bite sauce - $8.95) and I think that I've made my position toward Spam pretty clear. Served in the most adorable cardboard sleeve, I have heard these sandwiches described as thiccc... And that was no lie. Also known as Korean egg drop sandwiches, the common denominator is always a fluffy, perfectly folded egg and soft buttery bread. Milk toast or brioche is commonly used. I personally can't go wrong with Spam and I love the salty mystery meat with my whole damn heart - especially fried up with a nice sear on. The cheddar added a sharp and melty edge and the cabbage (a classic Korean sandwich ingredient) brought a satisfying crunch. They might use the term "mayochup" at Tealicious Blend but in my world it's called fancy sauce!! Mayonnaise and ketchup combined is pretty fancy, no? Sinking my teeth into every bite of this formidable sandwich was a delight and a celebration of delicious flavours that came together in the most satisfying way. The value of this sandwich cannot be overstated, in fact every Korean egg sandwich on the menu is under $10 except for one. I can't wait to return so that I can try some of the other available types! I see you Spicy Beef Bulgogi! I'm sure that there are other restaurants in the Edmonton area that do Korean egg sandwiches... But are they as good as these ones? Certainly worth the drive to St. Albert, I loved my experience at Tealicious Blend! From the uplifting environment, to the delicious food, to the excellent value, there's nothing not to love about this cute bubble tea shop! 감사합니다!
