Raccoon ran rampant around that place. Our room which was a swim up room had so many bugs in it. When we want to seaside grill there were roaches on the table one on the butter knife and one next to the plate on the other side of the table. We ended up switching hotels. Please don't stay here. They need a massive overhaul of the whole place. My cousins room was around the corner from my room in the wooded area. I didn't feel safe walking back there. I thought she was playing with me when she said she was in the woods. I was scared it may have been raccoons in the woods but there was definite something outside their room. I quickly moved them to my room until we could get another room for the night. On our way to the other room we encountered several raccoons and cats eating out of the uncovered trash cans. We hadn't ate the whole day ended up at the French restaurant which was decent but we were all reluctant to eat after the roaches in the other restaurant. The other room was better but they charged us extra for that room for the one night. We quickly checked out the next day. Breakfast was lacking breakfast food it was more of cold cuts and danishes. Too much money spent for mediocrity.
So let me start by saying this is an all inclusive resort so manage your expectations accordingly. My family and I go yearly to a resort so we know what to expect. Let's start with the room our room was very spacious with a full mini bar, Pringles and m&ms daily. We were in the preferred area of the resort so im not sure if everyone gets those snacks. The hot water wasnt the best, we were told that the water takes a while to heat up and it still never truly gets hot hot but it was bare able. Next the food, breakfast buffet was great. Omelets. Fresh fruit, pastries etc so good. Lunch and dinner at the buffet were ehhh but there was pizza and ice cream during both and pasta. Dinner in the buffet was always themed and no matter what there was always at least 1 thing you could eat. The a la carte restaurants were great we loved seaside grill and the tepinyaki station Next up entertainment- really good shows and the entertainment team was phenomenal They had water aerobics, games by the pool, Spanish lessons and guacamole lessons The staff is always super friendly, drinks aren't strong unless you're preferred Last but not last the beach, Tons of sargassm that smelled like death but they were constantly trying to clean it but it was just a lot. Overall I would definitely return
Had an incredible one week vacation over Thanksgiving. We were there with a large group wedding party. The hospitality from staff was professional and accommodating throughout our stay. Everywhere in the resort was picturesque and beautifully maintained. We enjoyed trying the many different restaurants onsite. There are two gyms, one indoor and one outdoor. They had ample machines, dumbbells and treadmills to get in a good workout. There is also a full sized tennis court. The poolside bar was conveniently located near the beach. We didn't have any issues finding a lounge chair or getting towels. The daily pool & evening activities were entertaining. We attended the most beautiful wedding on the rooftop terrace overlooking the ocean during sunset. Highly recommend coming here and I'd love to come back!
The wife and I decided on 2 nights to scout the place out for an upcoming family trip with the kids. Decent property, nothing bad to say about it, just not much wow factor. Having stayed at many Secrets and other Hyatt properties it wasn't as high a caliber as I was hoping for. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the place. In fact, the highlight was the beach- no vendors, very little sargasso, awesome sand/sea and it buts up against a national park- so no neighbors (both a pro AND a con, esp if you're wanting to find a $50 beach massage lol). I guess it just felt a bit dated... maybe it was the plantation/colonial style architecture? Fortunately we got bumped up to a preferred swim out room (globalist upgrade), which we enjoyed and used more than expected. The room was clean, service was always helpful and grounds well kept. The preferred club had a few snacks available and getting premium liquors was much appreciated. Overall, a good family friendly option with great safety and security. After this visit we are still considering returning for an upcoming family trip of 4-5 nights.
We found the staff very accommodating and friendly during our stay (thanks Enrique for keeping the pool drinks flowing!) and the food was good. While some reviews that the facilities are not in the best shape (our room ac had a hard time keeping up with the heat in late September) are true, we found everything clean and tidy in all areas of the resort. The front desk staff definitely pushed some packages and other things but you can decline those extras. The photographers around were fantastic and helped us multiple times get some cute pictures of our trip. Overall, if you want a brand new resort with all the bells and whistles, this isn't the place for you. But if you want a clean, friendly, nice resort with good food and drinks for a solid price, definitely check this one out.
Very disappointed considering it's a Hyatt property. We went during the hurricane and I will say they did their best to make sure we had food and were safe. No complaints there. Swim out room was nice. Property is cute but not as big as it appeared in photos. Kids club pool area is nice but only has access as a family a few hours midday or you have to leave your child. When we were there they ran out of towels and water for the kids. So I had to go on foot finding water bottles. Beach is nice and the pools are okay. Best food was when they did the beach bbq. Loved how secure and safe the property was. And they did a great job on the garden reception and balcony wedding. What was disappointing was so many things. Not one availability at hibachi restaurant, alcohol was watered down a lot, lines for bar, not a allergy food friendly place (glad I snuck in my own food into Mexico), first round of makeup and hair lady was horrible, slow slow service at restaurants, half the restaurants were never opened maybe that was due to hurricane, after hurricane beach was filthy with needles/razors/plastic/sooo much trash and treatment was just average. I wouldn't go back to this resort.
I have been wanting to check out Tulum and I was excited for this quick get away. This was my first time at a Dreams resort and it was underwhelming. After arriving I realized that Dreams is not in Tulum proper and that was my 1st mistake. I was treated by a friendly staff named Jazmin (later found out she was trying to sell me a package) but she was friendly and offered me a drink (well 2 as requested by me lol). Checking in was relatively easy and I was carted off to my room in the Adult only side. The rooms are a bit dated but my room was clean and spacious. The balcony has a hammock and a great view of the pool. The overall grounds were dreamy (lol) and well kept. I stopped by one event after dinner and it was great. The service staff were awesome and very friendly. The check-in, concierge and bell hop staff were unhelpful and at times dismissive. On my last day I requested for my luggage to be picked up and after waiting more than 30 minutes I walked with my luggage to the front lobby to catch my transfer because no one showed up nor apologized. Juan, bell hop was rude and dismissive and Sergio was apologetic and helpful. The food was medicore at best. I ate mostly at World cafe because it was the only place always opened with seating. I also did order often from room service. Alejandro was an awesome sever. It was hard getting a seat at the Mexican restaurant when it was opened. I fell asleep waiting to go to the Italian restaurant. The seafood restaurant was really delicious and I enjoyed my meal. The coffee shop was really good. I never made it to the smoothie shop. Cocktail drinks had an odd flavor or aftertaste. After a new gross drinks I stuck to the basics and requested it to be made a specific way. The weather was horrible so I did not get to enjoy the pool or beach. All in all, this was not a great stay and I would not return or recommend this resort. If I ever return to Tulum, I will stay in the hotel zone.
We've been staying at this resort for the past 5 days with a group of 14 friends. We have stayed at other dreams and secrets properties and have never had such a horrible experience. The rooms were in poor condition . Several rooms no ac, 1 room no working toilet for 2 days ; several rooms flooded. We have preferred which was a waste, food horrible and not many options. The 2 pools were severely overcrowded, with limited seating and hardly any available spots to relax . Foam party whack, alcohol all watered down. The resort overall felt outdated and poorly maintained. 0/10 do not recommend.I would not recommend this resort based on our experience.
Dream Tulum Resort by Hyatt Inclusive collection is my first all inclusive resort. We attended this past week for a wedding. It offers a luxurious all-inclusive experience with beautiful accommodations, six restaurants, bars, pools, and a spa (which we unfortunately didn't get to try). Sit down restaurants include: Himitsu/Teppanyaki Table - Asian Inspired Gohan - Japanese/Sushi El Patio - Mexican Portofino - Italian Bordeaux - French Seaside Grill - Seafood Rooms are a bit outdated, little bit of rust and upkeep is needed. Top floor had low water pressure and rooms were not consistent when compared to others, but the service here is excellent. Room service is a hit-or-miss. I had to ordered items for the room through the Hyatt app or concierge for the building whom I saw over the weekend, didn't see during the weekday. I asked for a steamer to iron my clothes, three times, call and concierge, and never got one. The resort provides a variety of activities for guests, including swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and tennis. While the resort is generally well-regarded, some guests have reported issues with the sales staff's push for UVC memberships which we experienced. They provide a $200 coupon voucher that is split amongst $40 increments, but with massages at $189 it was still pretty expensive. Plenty of liquor but I never saw them ever open a new bottle. Everything is from the back and already opened... I would suggest 3 nights here if you're resort hopping, as you can see all the restaurants and offerings in three days.
It was a nice resort but not perfect. The drinks were pretty watered down the staff were semi attentive as long as you were tipping them every ten seconds. The food overall was good had difficulty with the specialized restaurants and reservations. They could not always accommodate our large group or gave us hard time while doing so. The rooms weee nice and clean. The facilities overall were clean and well kept. We booked an excursion. With them the excursion was late for pickup and some items were taken. Staff was helpful when locals called to try and ransom my property back (unsuccessful in redemption). The nightly entertainment was mediocre at best but when your in an all inclusive resort you make do. Karaoke night was fun. The club in the evening was fun the music was pretty much the same each night though but when you chose to have fun you do.
I have no point of reference as this is the first time I stayed at an all-inclusive resort as an adult (with kids and with our parents) so I'll just go based on how I felt overall when I left, and I felt pretty darn good. When you first arrive at Dreams Tulum, it's beautiful. The landscaping and grounds are well-kept, the staff is friendly and greets you kindly, and as you walk out the back of the lobby you walk into what you'd imagine to be picturesque of a resort. It's the sort of lobby balcony you'll want to take romantic or family photos as a memory. Be sure you do, we didn't and I regret it. I love all the iguanas they have roaming around the grounds. They are more scared of us, so if you're scared of them just let them be and they will run away. My son wanted to hug most of them and gave them names which was pretty adorable. I love that they have golf carts to help you get around the resort if you need it. There were times when my dad's knees were hurting and he needed to take the cart to get to dinner since his room was far from the restaurants. It was also very beneficial the night it downpoured and we all crammed in to get back to our rooms! The day we checked-in we had to wait a while for our rooms. My husband and I were the last to receive our room and when we did we were disappointed. It was in a slightly secluded part of the resort, the room was very dark, dingy and had a smell about it not to mention lots of mosquitoes. We went back to the front desk and Angel was quick to help us find another room. They resort was booked and the only one they had available was an oceanview and we had to pay for the upgrade, but there was no way I was staying in the first room. Angel was by far my favorite front desk agent. He was on point with helping us with anything we needed and even though he knew my husband and I had been married for over 10 years he still had a "Honeymoon" sign put up on our door and sent a bottle of champagne to our room because he knew the kids were staying with the grandparents. It still makes me laugh to this day. He checked in with us whenever we saw him and was quick to provide anything we needed. Staff in general here are extremely kind, courteous, and quick to help. I wish they staffed the restaurants a bit better. There seemed to be a shortage of help in this department, but more on that later. Our second room was beautiful and modern and had an incredible view and a hammock on the balcony. The one thing I noticed was that our bathroom was installed different than our parents. Our parents had better water pressure, got actual hot water and had a better working toilet. I ended up having to go to their room to wash my hair, but that was my only real complaint. All three of the rooms were clean, a great size and maintained well daily. I love the easy access to the beach and how simple they made it to get towels and set up your things on the beach for the day. They have a small little playground on the beach for the kids, but they had a lot of wasps around it so we kept our distance. The pools were also well made and my daughter spent a good amount of time there while our son enjoyed beach and sea life. They do have a kids club for children 3+. Our daughter only attended one afternoon, but that's because she was too excited to see her grandparents (we live in different states). I love all the activities they have each day for them. I'm sure she would have enjoyed it if she went more. The afternoon and nightly entertainment for kids was awesome. That crew has some much energy and they give everything they have everyday and every night! Everything from dancing to acrobats. It was impressive. There are a few independent companies that work on the resort that make it easy to either go sailing directly from the beach or to book excursions. We did both. Sailing was included in the resort fee so we went twice and it was perfect. 20 mins out on the water. Excursions can be booked through the lobby. They are pricey, so you might want to book in advance on your own. Coco Cafe and the ice cream/smoothie shop was frequented most by us. They had the best staff and the yummiest stuff - naturally :). I still dream about my Coco Moka iced coffee. The coconut gelato was my fave. That said, I was disappointed overall with the food and the fact they only had two restaurants open a night. They don't take reservations and there was one night we waited 2.5 hours just to eat and then another hour for food. They were very short-staffed. The food itself was ok. Nothing to write home about. As a vegetarian, we always found something, but after the second day it was the same thing over-and-over with no variety. Water bottles always readily available. All-in-all, I left very relaxed and happy. I'm not sure if I would stay at Dreams again, or any all-inclusive for that matter, but that's just because I like to have more food options!

This place was awsome I came here to celebrate my wife's 30th bday and we had a blast. We booked an all inclusive suite and we were treated like royalty. The food was good room service was perfect and the mix drinks were the cherry on top. Anything you can think of they mix it up 4 you. Overall this place was amazing very clean great staff me and my girl was super happy. read more
The resort overall was beautiful! However, the food and drinks weren't great and room service took forever. The AC in our room also went out like halfway through our trip and we called to request someone to look at it and never heard back. They provided no updates and the AC never ended up being fixed. It was so hot and humid in our room it was definitely disappointing and hard to sleep. We were there when hurricane grace hit and they did their best to keep everyone safe and fed which was fine. It was cool that they kept us updated about the hurricane via the tablets in our room. We got massages that were good but not great. The only reason we chose this resort is a family wedding. And I was correct. This is the worst resort in Mexico we have been to. Let me start with the food they only have one restaurant open per night. Both nights we ate at the restaurants the host told us 45 min and we had to Wait over 2.5 hours all the food was subpar. As for the beach I know it's seaweed time but they need more than 2 guys a atv and small trailer. The final straw was when checking out and I told the desk person I didn't feel comfortable fill out the review so he filled it out giving the resort 5 stars. So know I how they are getting good reviews cheating and lies. I would never recommend this place read more

We took vacation here for a week at the end of May. We decided to switch it up a bit since we have gone to the Dominican Republic for the last several years to a resort in Punta Cana. Dreams was vastly different to where we have gone recently. The resort is somewhat compact compared to where we normally go. We opted for the Preferred Club option which gave us some upgrades and room options as well. We had a swim out room which I wasn't sure how it worked when I booked it, but we loved it. You open your back slider and it opened out to a courtyard with a pool that wraps around to all the rooms on the first floor. It was very convenient and refreshing after all day on the beach. The food was really good if you stick to the local Mexican fare. They had an Italian restaurant that wasn't good at all. The French and Asian restaurants were ok. The best part was the service. All around really good service. Everyone was very friendly and smiling. We had outstanding service from Carlos our bartender/beach attendant in the preferred club section. There was another server that was also outstanding, and I feel bad for not recalling his name. Bring a stack of $1s and $5s with you and if you tip the servers throughout the week you'll have a way better experience because most people do not tip at all. The rooms were nice however we had a major issue with mosquitos. I mean major issue. The way our room was situated they lingered in the hallways and when a door opened they swarmed in especially when the room was being cleaned. We killed no less than 25 mosquitos per day in the room. I was constantly on the hunt. The mosquito issue is hard to overlook, but the service would bring a lot of people back for more. Enjoy! read more

I really enjoyed my time here. Here is why i have gave only 3 stars. I have never been to an "all inclusive" resort, normally I travel and rough it but Raj and I did this for my friends wedding. Pretty expensive when we think about all the activities we could do with the money we spent on this. Our room is really nice, but not as nice as some 5 star hotels I've stayed at. We choose a room with a swim up pool backyard. I have a lot to say so I'm going to bullet point them. Pros: Bed was very nice and comfy. Comfy Sheets. Nice bathroom with separate bath and shower and toilet area Room service 24/7 Food at the French restaurant was AMAZING!!!! and the Ceviche at the Seaside grill was dope Cons: Ants- if you had ANY food or sugar left beyond the time of eating (maybe even during) at your room, you got a crap ton of sugar ants. Expensive spa on American dollars.... everything else is in pesos but here, the spa is extremely expensive and I couldn't use my 100% spa coupon on the one thing i wanted, a pedicure. The coupons dont work for salon services. The massages are extremely expensive. Long shuttle to resort- took us over an hour with all the other resort stops Definitely water down alcohol at certain bars (not the vip preferred bars tho) The World Cafe food got really old really quick. I really liked the place but I just don't think I'm cut out for resort life. read more
I visited this resort for 5 days in September with several friends for a birthday trip. We lucked out by going during the off-season as we got great deals on our rooms (upgraded to the adults-only swim out suites) and the resort was less crowded. The highlights were my spa treatment (only got a facial, but you could literally spend the day there relaxing, drinking cucumber water, and doing the hot/cold pool rotation), and our reserved sommelier-hosted dinner in the wine cellar of the Italian restaurant. Overall, the resort was beautiful, we had great weather and we could be as active or relax as much as we wanted, which was our goal. Pros: Very friendly, smiling staff Rooms are beautiful and clean Variety of activities and restaurants Close to Tulum ruins Beautiful, manicured grounds 24-hour room service Great musical entertainment at night Cons: Red meat at restaurants was usually sub-par (but we found plenty of other tasty dishes) Inconsistency of drinks from the pool bars (not made correctly, no booze) Premier club beach was not as nice as regular beach for swimming Evening comedy shows were pretty hit-or-miss For us, it was just the right balance of being removed from the party crowd of Cancun with still having a lot of luxuries and things to keep us occupied right on the resort. It's probably not the most luxurious of hotels I've stayed in, but for an all-inclusive resort it was very nice. I would go again! read more

My husband and I stayed here for a week starting on December 19th, 2020. This place was truly a dream and I didn't want to leave when it was time to pack up and go. They really went above and beyond to make our stay special, every employee is gracious and goes out of their way to accommodate you. With Covid 19 going on, they are practicing safety measure with all employees wearing masks at all times, they require you to sanitize your hands before walking into a restaurant or bar. You do have to wear your mask when you go into the restaurant's or when ordering drinks from the bar. If you decide to stay in your room every room has an iPad which allows you to order room service for breakfast, lunch and dinner and of course it's all inclusive so that includes room service. I would definitely stay here again and next time we want the 1st floor for the swim up pools! read more

This was absolutely the worst resort I have ever stayed at in my entire life. The customer service is the worst, I have never experienced so much racism in my life. We can in for a wedding booked our room about 8 months in advance, why we get here and our room is not available??? We booked a double jr suite with an ocean view and pull out couch and they gave us a king room with one bed, partial ocean view when we complained and said it was unacceptable we had to wait hours for a manager to come talk to us to fix the problem. How did they solve the problem you ask??? by bring us a dirty cot so instead of 3 people having 3 separate beds to sleep we only had 2. We were promise a lot things but didn't get crap and we complained and complained. Next I went to breakfast at one of the restaurants o Put my name on the list and was asked to step to the side didn't think nothing of it because I thought they were waiting for a server, a white man behind me steps up puts his name on the list and they immediately sits him. For me, spending my hard earn money here at this resort and get that huge slap in the face was the nail in the coffin. Not only is my room not what I paid for, it was disgusting and dirt, then to experience blatant racism in my face that was it for me!! I will never ever recommend this resort to any family, friends, co-workers, not even my worst enemy! If I could give the resort 5 negative stars I would, even the food was bad, Worst vacation ever! read more
Check in started off a bit bumpy. We're normal average Joe people, but we do like to travel well. They did not have us as Preferred and lead us to the main lobby to check in. When you upgrade to Preferred you get a private check in in a private lounge. It just makes things so much easier with kids. Especially after the long travel time. They did get it changed rather quickly and carted us over to the Preferred Lobby, located inside the same building as Cocoa Cafe. It rained the first 3 days. Not the resorts fault. The storm brought TONS of seaweed to the beach. Making it completely unusable. There's no way the staff could keep up with it. We didn't use the pool, only the swim out lazy river outside of our room, which was always clean. World Cafe is the buffet of all sorts of foods from all over the world. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. While my husband hates buffet style eating, I LOVE it. And my kids could eat pizza, nachos, burgers, fries, desserts and assorted fruits. I could partake in a steak, fish or mussels made to order from the flat top grill. Same with breakfast, omelets made to order, bacon, eggs, toast, sausage, tortillas, chorizo, pastries, pancakes, waffles....you name it, they have it. And of course mimosas, orange juice, assorted milks and my favorite, Horchata. 24 hour room service was always timely and orders correct. This is where you tip well. Order ice from RS as well. We ate most dinners and nighttime snacks from RS. El Patio serves buffet breakfast, menu lunch and menu dinners. We ate lunch there one day and it was incredible. Fresh guacamole, chips, black bean dip, to die. I had chicken fajitas with fresh tortillas. Sizzling and full of juicy flavor. Hibachi Grill. Reserve this at check in! It's a 48 hour advance reservation and you do not want to miss this show! Best steak I've had in Mexico. My kids even devoured the food! You're served in small courses and drinks refilled throughout. Again, please tip well here, the show is amazing and the servers are very attentive. We found no reason to tip the mini bar/fridge attendant after the 2nd day. He was subpar. We had to order sodas from RS and basic snacks were never once restocked. Housekeeping was great, they put things orderly, made beds and did a quick mop and wipe down of the bathroom. There's a sort of turn down service, they come to your door to exchange towels and give you bedtime chocolate mints. One night they brought us chocolate covered strawberries! The staff was overwhelmed with the rain, (from a hurricane) the resort was max capacity since no one could venture out, this is a very rare occurrence in this part of the Riviera Maya. They were still friendly and working hard to be accommodating. Explores Club. My kids enjoyed this immensely. Bungee jumping on a trampoline, crafts, painting, video games, took them to lunch and dinner. My 8 year old could not get enough. Dreams Resorts are the best way to travel all inclusive with children. read more

Dreams Tulum! Getting away from our every day life and arriving here was great! The location is beautiful, the hotel is beautiful. Staff was always wearing a mask and the hotel was always clean! 97% of the staff is Amazing! When we arrived they gave us a deal to upgrade which we took however, we had to wait an extra hour for it to be ready. They also didn't decorate it for the birthday we were celebrating as promised. They did come with a cake shortly after we got to the room. The room well it was gorgeous we had our. Private pool outside, the beds were cozy and the room was spacious there was 3 of us. The sheets to the bed always felt humid and no matter how cold or warm we made the room the humidity never went away. Upon our arrival we went to the seafood grill, food mediocre to be honest. But we met Rosario! Who set us up with our drink of the trip!! Bartender Limberth hooked us up with the Mexican mule or like he calls it "pronto lloraras" translation you'll cry soon, get in your feelings basically. It's tequila, ginger syrup, crushed limes and mineral water. It's so refreshing! Honestly he's probably the best bartender in the whole place has been working there for 15 years and he caters to his guests. Even brings his own stuff to make specialty drinks my cousin asked for mezcal and by the next day he had gotten the front staff to bring it to the bar. Rosario was also very attentive greeting us when we would arrive to the world cafe for breakfast with our specialty drink! The best restaurant by far was portofino and el patio. They're the spots for dinner. To be honest I didn't even take photos of the food because it was just so ehh and then these two spots blew me away! So I'm sorry for the lack of photos. I added the video outside of the room to the public posts. I would totally stay at Dreams Again! It was a great experience overall!! PSA: when the signs say slippery when wet believe them! We came here for a Friends wedding. Overall I would give it a B- RESORT: beautiful grounds and buildings! The grounds were kept well, it was clean, with a great resort feel. BEACH: this beach was better than other resorts I have been to. It was bigger with more room for the chairs, umbrellas, spacious for activities such as volleyball, snorkelling etc. But beware rocks in the shallow areas! ROOM: very pretty room! Clean with a nice resort feel. Turn-down service and great upkeep with timely cleaning. BUT the shower water wasn't hot enough for me (I love a hot shower) and the products provided (although nice they offered) were not great quality. We also had ants in our room if we left room service in the room. FOOD: probably the least Favorite part for me. All inclusiveness are notorious for having crappy food. This was the case for me. They had plenty of options but each on was similar options with low quality food. The Buffet was ok, but the fruit and veggies were too ripe or not ripe at all. The entrees were ok (pastas, pizzas, meats,) but really not as good as I would have hoped. The Mexican restaurant was ok, portions were small, and not the typical Mexican I was hoping for. Sushi was fun! But the rice on some of the rolls was dry. Italian (in my option) the best place to eat. Really good and great service! The snack hut made cheeseburgers (excellent and prob my Favorite on the whole resort) and pizza (not great...) DRINKS: good! Great and fun bartenders. I always asked for a double bc they tend to be weaker drinks. Don't expect top shelf here!! It's all "well" type alcohol. SPA: all around I loved it! Great massage, great service, lovely facility. I liked this part a lot. WEDDING: if you are a casual, easy going bride, this would be a good option. Their price point is good! You meet with your coordinator a few times for a few hours and do the run through etc. But make sure you ask about options such as (of it rains) or (of it's too hot!!) both of these were things my friend had to work around so her reception ended inside. Horrible food! But great DJ! And great drinks/service! STAFF: all around super nice and helpful!! Very hard workers with a fun flair! This made my experience better! But if you are checking in or out prepare for a wait!! You are on the "Mexican Minute" meaning everything takes Longer. WiFi: excellent in some areas (pool and bar areas) not great in our room! We had several times when it stopped working. Also, our TV stopped working the second night...really annoying but didn't ruin our night :) Overall it was fun! And beautiful great service! Overall the experience here was a pretty good. But they did have a few MAJOR screwed ups. I was here as a bridesmaid for a friend that was getting married at the resort. Let's start with the bad: Lack of maid service. We stayed here for 4 nights and only had our room cleaned up on the last night we were there. I called so many times prior to have them come clean up the room and for whatever reason no body ever came. The woman on the phone kept on telling me that it was because of some red light that was in front of our door that was turned on so housekeeping didn't come. We later discovered the light was in fact there but there was no way of turning it off and why wasn't that explained to us when we checked in?! And even after I specifically called for them to come, even if the red light is on, please do still clean our room! But nope. No one came until the last night Service at restaurants was extremely slow. Food took a good half an hour at least to come out over all. Even the drinks took a long time to come to us. And the portion was also very small. Towards the end, I was just ordering two appetizers and two entrees for myself. We were all getting ready at the spa for the wedding. One of our girls dropped something and broke the glass top on one of the tables. It was totally an accident and hotels should definitely have insurance for that but they insisted on having us pay for it. Which was totally crazy and unacceptable. Accidents do happen but ok if that is the case than so be it. The bride's dress was hanging on the mannequin the whole time we were all getting our hair and make up done. When the bride was getting ready to put on her wedding dress, we discovered that they had teared up the bride's dress by accident. Yes you read that right, they had RIPPED the bride's dress by accident while putting the dress on the mannequin. And keep in mind this was 10 minutes before the wedding. Instead of apologizing and mending for a solution, like bring threads and needles, they showed no remorse and did NOTHING about it! But thank god it was only the inside layer that was ripped and the bride could still wore the dress, but it did not look the same. We than offered them to not charge us for the broken glass top since they ripped the wedding dress and they were ok with it. But this was nearly a 10k dress and the broken glass top would have cost them at most 200 bucks to fix. The check in process was less than grand. I was instructed to go up to one of those guys at the front after checking in so he could take me to my room but he told me oh it's just right here and told me to go myself. And no, it was not just right there, the resort was huge and I was lost while trying to roll around the resort with my carry on luggage. Unacceptable Some of the staffs at the resort were rude and not helpful. Especially the female staffs. A lot of times, you ask them questions and they just brush you off and direct you to someone else with an attitude. Now let's move on the the good. Drinks were top shelf liquors and bartenders were very friendly and made the drinks esp strong for you. I remember Moishe at the pool bar was awesome. Every time when I finished my drink, I turn around and a new drink was waiting for me. Food was not bad and actually pretty decent for all inclusive. We especially liked the buffet with all the different varieties of different food, fresh fruits etc. The resort itself was very clean, and beautiful. You definitely feel like you are on vacation the minute you step in this place and the place is huge! The nightly entertainments were great. There was shows, music and lots of dancing. Overall besides the bad, this was an okay stay but due to the major screw ups, I lowered the stars because I really just think they were unacceptable. read more

We have been to Dreams Tulum twice now. The first time in February 2016 for our wedding, the second time in May 2017 for a return "honeymoon", with two nights free that was a part of our wedding package. I cannot recommend this place enough for a beach wedding, Nayeli made everything so easy and the whole ceremony and reception well exceeded my expectations. These guys know what they are doing with a wedding. The honeymoon suite was very good as well, spacious, with a jacuzzi in the room and on the balcony. Our second trip was in one of the ocean view suites which was a great view. We did have an issue with our AC not working that took a few days to fix, but the night temps weren't too hot and the room cooled off by the time we got back from dinner. Alfredo, our bartender at the beach and the three or so bartenders at the sugar reef bar all remembered our names, preferred orders, and were very quick with service. We also did a wine tasting with the sommelier at the Italian restaurant's wine cellar. It was well worth the experience at $40/person for four hours of entertainment, education, drinking, and eating. Snorkeling with Pierre from the dive shack was another treat, well worth the money. Be prepared, there can be a lot of seaweed and crushed shell on the beach; this resort is protected by a reef and this stuff does wash up. They are very good about getting seaweed off the beach every morning though, and it is a small price to pay for being isolated in the jungle area near Tulum as opposed to being just another resort in a long line of resorts. read more

Where to begin ..... ? The staff was very good to us BUT the room amenities, food and drinks need to improve seriously! The excuse of only 30% capacity doesn't explain the quality at all. We have visited many resort and know the food and drinks are usually at best a B in my opinion. Our room refrigerator had to be worked on twice, the door cards and actual lock had to be worked on. Oh that was fun when trying to go to bed. I don't know how time we requested for colder beer or actually to blend our drinks. Overall the visit to Tulum Mexico was a great trip. Dreams !! Nah more like a waste of time and money ! read more

This is a long review, but that's because there are so many good things to say! We had a wonderful, relaxing girls vacation 5/8-5/13/2019. We decided to splurge and stayed in a Preferred Deluxe Garden Swim Out room in the Adults Only section and it was completely worth it. Upon booking we did not realize all the advantages that came with booking a Preferred Deluxe suite - immediately upon arrival we were whisked away in a golf cart to a private check-in in where you're seated at a table and they bring you a drink while you complete the check-in paperwork (we obviously started with champagne) - this is in a lounge area reserved for the preferred guests - drinks available at the bar, a little snack room, and a TV with a couch to watch whatever you like. Our hotel room was lovely - though there was a strange through-window from the bathroom to the main room.... no matter, we just kept it closed. The space was clean and the mini bar was well stocked - and remained so throughout our 5 night stay. The room was serviced daily without us ever being interrupted and turn-down service was provided each night. They seem to be a little stingy with their towels (what hotel isn't?!) but we were able to get extra whenever we requested them. The second morning we woke up to a little stream of water coming from the ceiling just above the bathroom entryway - the engineering team sent someone right away, it was fixed within a few minutes and we never had the issue again. The swim out "lazy river" thing was AMAZING - honestly why doesn't every resort do this?! Granted, we had this in lieu of an ocean view but we were fine with that! There are servers who come through that area regularly to take drink orders as well. Room service for food sometimes took a little while, but it was fine. The in-room dining menu doesn't say anything about drinks so we would add something like "Please bring 2 glasses of red wine!" to the special instructions section and we got our drinks every time :) We tried all but one restaurant - the Italian place (Portofino) was the only restaurant on property that has a strict dress code and we were not prepared for that. Did not matter one bit, each of the restaurants was great - we were really wary of the food because All Inclusive resorts have a reputation but we were pleasantly surprised. At each place we were seated and greeted quickly & provided water right away. Gohan, the sushi place, was a little funny - I mean we were in Mexico, we didn't expect it to blow our minds, but they had cream cheese in almost every roll which is a little odd (and certainly not my preference). The sushi also had the longest wait time. Himitsu is the Habachi grill and is the only restaurant that requires a reservation at least 2 days in advance- I definitely recommend it if you can make it, the food was great and they really seem to enjoy putting on a show. The World Cafe has a buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - our first day we had breakfast at El Patio (which might only be available for preferred guests, not sure) but once we discovered the buffet we didn't go back. I was really surprised at the selection and how flavorful everything was. At each of the bars/lounges we were served quickly, and the drinks were well made. Bordeaux is the French restaurant and was hands down our favorite - we started with mussel appetizers and had steak and pork for dinner - each dish was truly delicious (again, so surprised by the food quality for an all inclusive!) - however the soups did nothing for us and totally missed the mark. Sooo appetizers and entrees are fantastic, but maybe avoid the soups? Every single time we passed a staff member walking around the resort they smiled and said hello - clearly a service requirement but it was very well received. The service was outstanding throughout our stay. I made two visits to the spa - one massage and one facial. The massage wasn't the best I'd ever had, but I left feeling very relaxed which was the goal! They offer an "after sun" facial which I did our last day there - good timing because I was turning into a lobster - and it was lovely. Very calming and soothing and there was a noticeable difference in my skin right away - I think this helped a lot in transitioning back into dry Colorado weather. Funny enough, we spent almost no time on the beach. Part of the "Preferred" package is one free day in a reserved cabana and we didn't even use it. For the last few years the coast has had unprecedented seaweed issues and our time there was no exception - every morning there was a group of staff raking the seaweed that had come ashore overnight and then a bobcat would come through to shovel it away. The resort staff did their best at maintaining the beach, but it's a difficult task. The seaweed was unsightly and smelly, so we just parked our butts at the pools which was fine by us. Moral of the story: I would 100% come back here. read more

We arrived at 4pm starving only to find that we had to wait until 6pm to eat anything. I've never experienced that staying at an all inclusive resort. Also the beach front is not really large so they have the volley ball area set up right in front of where guest lounge. Unfortunately while laying out I was hit in the face with a volley ball. When I went to the front desk to ask for help with an ice pack or something due to not wanting my eye to swell up. This is what they gave me. They weren't apologetic. They just pushed me on my way. The food is not good at all. It's just been a horrible experience for me. I paid $1200 for 3 nights. I'm regretting it. Please spend your money on something much better! My brothers tub was leaking. So far my stay has been ok, I say ok and give it a three star review because there are a few things that so far have not been up to my expectations. The food is good overall, I recommend the skirt steak here, its good. The breakfast lunch and dinner is buffet style at the world cafe. The wait time to for the restaurants is very long and frustrating. We had to wait more than an hour to be seated for 4 ppl. The food is average and as expected, nothing too special. For the activities, there aren't very much, but that is ok because I prefer to lay and relax. We upgraded to the preferred package, not so impressed, the drinks are top shelf but the mixed drinks are not that great. I do have to mention that for some reason, the beach at the preferred section has a strong smell of sewage that was very noticeable despite the ocean breeze. The beach here is not swimmable because of the excessive amount of seaweed. This was a major turn off for me because that is one of the main reasons why I like to vacation near the ocean. I am sure there is a reason on why they don't try to keep the resort area clean of seaweed. But not all is bad, the staff is friendly but some of the hosts at the restaurants are a bit timid and seem untrained to attend the guests in a timely matter. So far I have not seen this resort overcrowded nor too many kids here so it is a good place for adult relaxation. read more

My fiancé and i had already decided to make our wedding a dreams tulum wedding from a previous visit the year before (oct 2020). We booked a week vaca to meet the wedding coordinators and tour the wedding venue locations on the property. We made an appointment a month prior to visiting with the dreams tulum wedding team (Victoria Arista, Landy Cahum). Our vacation dates were Oct 7-14 and initial appointment was for Oct 8th. Right when we landed on the 7th, Victoria emails us to reschedule our appointment "due to" other wedding going on. I'm not an overly fussy person but planning a wedding myself, i know it takes months and this should have been seen earlier and an appointment not made if they were that busy. She offers her apologies and askes if the 13th will do. This pretty much takes all the opportunities to use the time and space to plan our own dream wedding. So driving down the the resort when we landed has us pretty bummed out already. We get to the resort, 2 hours to check in, then the gentleman at the desk says "oh, we have a special room waiting for you", so maybe this is looking up again, we get excited as we already liked the room we booked (JR suite, which we stayed last time and loved the rooms) and now were getting a special room. The bell hop takes us to the most furthest back unit closer to the highway than the beach and the room is absolutely filthy. black mould in the bathroom, leaking water in the closet, bug carcasses on the floor. I went back to the concierge to ask for a room change to the original room we booked, They were all full he said. Day 1, not so great, its late and we just use a towel to mop up the bugs and I open my travel bottle of scotch. Next morning we make the trek to the beach to enjoy the beautiful weather, its about 10am as we like our sleep-ins, a massive line at the pool bar, about 20min wait for drinks, so we bail on that and just grab a seat hoping for a server instead. not a single server all day. So im forced to wait 10-20min per round of drinks and because of this, everyone is ordering like 6 drinks a piece in the line, understandable since its that long to get another. We pop to the pool side snack hut and i order a pizza from the guy and he says "ok" then just leaves the hut for 15min and comes back and asks to take my order again. about 40min later my fiance and i have chips and cheese and a pizza, both of which were subpar, even for mexico. we have a laugh and tell eachother the buffet for lunch tomorrow. We enjoy the rest of the beautiful day on the beach, without drink service and call it a day. Back in the room by 5, changed and out for dinner by 6pm. We go to the italian place and they say 30min or so. Now for a fully booked resort (and it was truly fully booked) they had only 2 restaurants open a night so wait times were a nightmare, even for buffet, which this night they had closed and only 2 ala carts open. after about an hour i went back into the front door as we were loitering outside the door and asked how the table was coming, the woman replied that it shouldnt be too much longer. Another 30 min passes and she says 20min at most. 20min later, she tells me "someone else is sitting at my table". I reply "Like you sat someone down at my table instead of me or the table isnt ready yet because someone hasnt left?". She just repeats, "someone else is at your table". So due to the shit lunch and sun all day, im pretty hangry at this point and my fiance is even more upset waiting 2 hours for dinner. I ask to speak to someone else, she grabs another gent and he says, "come with me" and seats us at one of the many empty tables in the restaurant. about 30 min late a waiter finally comes out with bread and as we try and make our drink and food order, he says :ill be right back for your order". 20min later he finally comes back and takes our drink and food order, 15min after that our food comes and no drink. Eventually he comes to see how the food is and to bring next course than asks us if we want a drink, keep in mind there isnt even water on the table yet. Absolutely nightmare. my fiance and i get back to the room and ask eachother if we can really ask 80 people to pay $2400 each to come here????? Next day we tour the wedding venues ourselves and and shake off the day before. We tour for an hour or so and then head to the beach, this time we took our own big cups because again, no servers on beach or pool. For lunch we skip out on the pool snack bar and head to buffet, my fiance is in a bando tube top looking item and i respect sometimes a little more is needed, we ask if its ok and the lady greets us and seats us. I look around and multiple women were in sarongs and bikini tops and gents in T's with swim shorts. So seems all good, we get up to grab plates and start getting our food, on the way to sit down the same woman who seated us tells us we have to go. READ MORE IN PHOTOS read more
