I delivered two broken exhaust parts to Dreamworks Metal. They were a very thick stainless steel plate and a stainless steel pipe that needed to be welded at a specific angle and solidly connected. My desire for this to work was strong since this was a second welding shop--the first failed. The guys at Dreamworks Metal looked at it, said no problem and told me it would be ready the next morning. When I arrived I could see my parts (now a single part) on the work table. I walked over and picked it up to see beautiful welding. It wasn't just welded, it was beautifully welded. I often hear the good welding looks like a stack of coins that was pushed over. Like fish scales. This work was like rainbow fish scales. Just perfect work. The guys there were super friendly. This is THEE welding shop for me and should be for you. These guys are the type of guys that care about their work. What a pleasure. I was charged $100. A new part was $1700. Not just a savings but a great savings. I was thrilled. Thank you to Dreamworks! OjO scooter rides again! Scout does amazing work. I have a 7 year old electric scooter that is out of production. The cargo rack had broken where it bolted on to the body. After consulting with Scout over the phone and texting photos of the repair needs, he was confident that he could make it even more reinforced than before. Two days later it was ready and exceeded my expectations. He was open to slightly expanding the seat post clearances and also drilled holes for bolting to the body. All I had to do was re-paint the sanded areas and BAM better than new! I will definitely contact Scout again should I need any similar work. read more

The rear glass door assembly on our pick up cap came apart and the glass fell out. we took it to a place close to home in Amador county and while they were helpful, they didn't really want the job. We drove it into Scout and just in a matter of an hour and a half everything was back together and we were good to go at a very fair price. We were very happy. read more

If I could give 0 stars I probably would. I had a customer that needed a bracket for custom handlebars for his bike. I got in contact with Scout and said he would do it for $400. It took him over 4 months to complete (still not done actually) after telling me that it would be done in a few weeks. He kept putting it off and kept telling me excuses. My customer at this point is gettin frustrated because it's taking ages and his bike has been in our shop since we started it. After months he finally got around to finishing it. We decided that we wanted to engrave a symbol on the bracket and he said it would be done in a couple of days and that it would be done that Sunday. Again weeks have past and my customer is waiting on me. When I confronted Scout about it I said I just wanted it back and to forget about the engraving since clearly he hasn't started it he told me $550, which wasn't the agreed amount to begin with. He apparently told me that he said it would range from "400-550" which again in the beginning we agreed on a set amount of $400 (I should have asked for a written receipt, that's my fault). To this day he still hasn't finished the project. Not reliable and a big waste of time, and will not put your project as priority. read more

Extremely happy with the work I had done. I needed a large, automatic gate for my side yard access to replace the preexisting, flimsy chain link one. I ended up with a robust, secure, and extremely high quality fabricated gate that will probably outlast the house itself! Mr. Handford, the owner, was professional, flexible, and very knowledgeable throughout the process and gave me several options when trying to figure out the most appropriate gate opener for my needs. I ended up getting a higher end model than I was initially looking at and, after almost two years of daily use, am so glad I did because I've had zero problems with it. I have known the owner of Dreamworks Metal for some time now and have seen first hand the kind of work he produces. It can only be described as art. From the rod iron fencing to the custom commissioned pieces Ive seen are breath taking. I have referred many people to Dreamworks and have never heard a negitive report on their experience with them. I recently had some work done there and was more than impressed with the turn around time. I know each job is different in its complexity and may take longer but its so worth the wait. BEWARE...do not work with this company, or in general the owner, Scout, whom does the work. If I could leave a zero or a negative number I would. I have never had to deal with a more upsetting and frustrating situation and in my life. I unfortunately got into contract with Scout and promised the job would be done in 2 days after the product arrived in a week. It took over 3 months. My gate was completely broken and I had a new born baby. I had to get out the car to push open the gate, which is not light and put a boulder in front of it to prop it open then move the Boulder to close it, in the middle of the hottest summer. I begged and pleaded for this guy to come finish the job. We had already paid him money up front to get in contract and after partially beginning he disappeared on us. We would call and text and he would not get back to us for days and weeks at a time. My mom came to help me and the gate slammed closed on her car, causing $1,200 worth of damage. It wasn't until I called and threatened to sue that he finally showed up, 5 different times to finish the job, worked as slow as possible. His response when I did reach him via phone was that he had a high priority job that he needed to finish first, I argued with him that my job was high priority at those point as he was in breach of his own contract. When I negotiated the final price with him due to the fact that he did not follow through on his contact he sent me a letter from a lawyer, threatening to take me to small claims. He also raised the price at the end of the work. He gave me a defective gate opener that did not work, which I paid for. We asked repeatedly for him to replace it after the job was done & of course never heard back from him. I will add the screen shots of texts as the other reviewer did, as I had the same experience. I typically do not leave reviews, but I this cannot go unnoticed and businesses and people like this should not get away with such cruel behavior. I am shocked and disappointed that there are people out there that treat others this way and have the audacity to run their business this way. Great shop and a great work by a great proprietor named Scout. I had a very small job that was beyond my ability to do myself, so called around to a few places to see if they could and would do it. Scout assured me that he could and would, and gave me an upfront price that seemed very reasonable. It was nearly time for him to go home, but said he would wait for me, which he did. His work was detailed and precise and I was very happy with his work. He is friendly and has a great work ethic. He has a very clean and organized shop and was happy to tell me about and show me some of the other major projects he was working on. I could tell from those projects he is very skilled and proud of his work. I would highly recommend him. read more

We've been fortunate to have DreamWorks Metal for a number of very difficult jobs. The owner totally rebuilt a destroyed metal bucket on the front loader for our tractor. It came out better than new. He also did a refurbish on a 16' flatbed trailer needing welding and wiring repair and the wood deck replaced. He did a beautiful job. He has also provided consulting and equipment for the solar back up on our automatic gate. A little out of the ordinary, but he customized hoof rasps for the specialty work we do in equine hoof trimming and rehabilitation. He is also an outstanding instructor for learning to weld. Besides this work, he created a very large metal sculpture that was given an award at the state fair a couple years ago. There is much more to say, but, in short, DreamWorks Metal is our "go to" for high quality metal, electrical, and glass work. Highly recommend! read more

I normally don't leave negative reviews for businesses, but I think he has definitely earned this one! I would not recommend this company/ business owner for automatic (Security) gate repair. I know that this individual does provide other services that he may take more seriously, but as for warranty of work already paid for?? Disappointed is an understatement. After multiple attempts to reach this guy and weeks later I finally reach him and he explains that his cell phone was damaged and lost all contact info etc... He says that he is sorry and I am at the top of his list and will call me back to schedule a time to come out to fix the issue with my gate that he just "fixed" approx 4 weeks prior. I would recommend trying another company that cares to warranty their work and will call you back after the 1st voicemail or shall I say actually return your call or show up as promised to fix the issue. I actually really liked this guy/ owner and was willing to continue services, but he seems to not take the simplest courtesy (Business 101) and follow through with his promise to show up and fix the problem and warranty his work . After much dismay, I finally decided to call someone for a quote on a new system due to this problem (Gate would not close all the way, so much for security). The guy from the new company not only showed as promised after an already busy day and traffic, but also asked if he could look at my gate to see what was going on and I obliged him of course. It took him less than 10 minutes to detect and fix this dilemma that I and my family have been living with for 8 weeks UGH!! BTW he didn't charge me a penny..
