I've gone to a couple of events recently that had Dreamy Drinks, and I am a HUGE fan of their mini boba sizes! I feel like it's the amount I want to taste any single boba. \ This is especially true because.. I find their tea okay/mostly too sweet. Even on lower sweet levels, this particular boba place tends to use sweet syrups. Additionally, I don't personally like their boba; I find it a little on the flavorless side. There are a few things on the walls and a little counter to order at, but there is no seating or space that would encourage people to stay and hang out. I happened to find Dreamy Drinks in the area after grocery shopping, so I decided to make a stop at their boba truck over the weekend. They claim they are the first Seattle boba truck, although they also have a B&M location in Marysville. I'm certainly not traveling all the way up there just for drinks, so I'm glad the truck is around! Classic Milk Tea w/ Boba, Iced 22oz, 50% Sweet, 50% Ice ($7.45) - This drink tastes watered down with a thin and weak black tea flavor and very light sweetness. The ice level is just enough to cool down the drink, so I don't think it's the over-addition of ice that contributes to the weak taste. While there's clearly creamer added to give a milky look, the taste is also not very apparent in the drink. It's like drinking tan colored water. This drink comes with boba by default. The boba seems to be soaked in a sugar solution, but probably not for very long given that the pearls are only very slightly sweet. They are pretty smooth, with a very thin velvety layer on the exterior, and have a pretty decent bouncy chew. This is one of the few places where I enjoyed the boba much more than the drink itself. Milk Tea Rating: 2/5 Boba Rating: 4/5 Overall, the drink I received was just okay. I don't think this is a food truck that I'll ever try to track down again, but if it happens to be at an event that I'm attending, I might get another drink. read more

Finally saw a Dreamy Drinks venue that aligned with my schedule perfectly and took the opportunity to try some drinks. They had a limited menu which was unfortunate as I was really interested in the dragonfruit yogurt. We ended up picking the Matcha Brown Sugar Boba Latte and Strawberry Matcha Latte. The drinks are pretty pricey being just under $8 before tip. The taste to price point ratio is fairly low because of this. Overall, there's a higher ratio of milk to anything else in many drinks and the upcharge doesn't quite hit it for me. Boba is chewy, but not sweet. Pretty decent boba but could be improved in that regard. Overall, enhances drinks here rather than being a jaw sore. Matcha Brown Sugar Boba Latte - the matcha is basically irrelevant here, so it really is a brown sugar boba fresh milk drink. Brown sugar is definitely noticeable and makes up the entire drink. Strawberry Matcha Latte - aesthetically, looks like Boba Guys which was neat. It's basically strawberry milk though. A coworker told me this was his favorite boba shop in Seattle after I told him I had trouble finding a local spot that could beat out Happy Lemon. Felt like I was chasing this truck around Seattle for awhile until I finally caught them at their usual spot at a convenience store around Greenwood on Sunday. They were out of their black tea and boba but I got their infamous strawberry matcha latte (no tea or coffee?) instead. It was tasty, a bit sweet but the matcha wasn't overpowering just provided a nice creamy earthiness to a great drink. I would have preferred it with tea but it was fine as-is. I came back a second time to find them at the Bellevue Farmers Market where I finally got my hands on the classic milk tea with boba, my go-to to test the mettle of any boba shop with the basic drink with nowhere to hide. It was very mild and nothing special to me, and the boba itself was too soft and overly chewy. Definitely a "once is enough" type of place. Their drinks are nothing special aside from the pretty packaging and the adorable truck. Their prices are high and their flavor is a bit lacking. I got their classic black milk tea (no boba because they ran out). It was 100% sweet and normal ice. I had them from their food truck coming onto the University of Washington Campus. I thought the drink was alright. Like it wasn't an insanely good milk tea because it didn't have a good balance between sugar, milk, and tea flavor. I think the tea flavor was pronounced mostly from the fact that the drink wasn't creamy. The drink felt like a milk tea that I could've made from home. There was some tea flavor, but not enough creaminess to make the drink feel like more than just normal tea. Also, the sugar content in the milk tea was really low for 100% sweetness. I'm surprised that it was their level. Sure, the packing was pretty. But they also forgot my drink during the consistent flow of people that they were serving. They checked in with me directly, which was nice, but still something to note. I also tried my friend's sparkling strawberry drink and I didn't like it. I love pink and I love unicorns so this boba truck definitely caught my eye. My friend and I ordered the brown sugar latte and the strawberry matcha latte (two of their more popular drinks). The cups are unique and so cute. They're really killing the aesthetic game! Strawberry matcha latte: To really get the full taste, I would recommend using a coffee stirrer to mix it. It is a little stronger on the strawberry side than on the matcha side but it was still really tasty! But the blend in general was great since I was able to taste both strawberry and matcha. Brown sugar: this one was really good. The boba was super chewy and the drink is going to be sweet from the brown sugar but that's just its trait. So if you're not a person into super sweet things I would recommend getting another drink. 4 stars for Seattle bubble tea, 2.5 stars for my standard. I had the Ovaltine crema with tapioca. It was a ok. The Ovaltine is not fully cold, more to a warm side..Not even chill is warm! And the tapioca is only a small hint of brown sugar. I can tell it's cooked with water then soaked in brown sugar instead of cooking with the brown sugar. The creama is basically cream cheese flavor cream. Had better before so this is really mild and took me a while to get the flavor. Texture also is more liquid than creamy. Yup, basically a total disappointment. But hey I knowwww it's Seattle! Also they have Ovaltine creama in the first place already made them somewhat special here. I guess I would recommend it if you want the experience.. but is it really worth a try? Depends. Hard to judge because it's already consider great milk tea for Seattle, but for Asian born this is really mediocre. It wasn't too sweet but not as watered down as I thought it would be (other reviews say it is very watered down). They have this topping called crystal boba which you just have to try because it's different. I'm not sure how to describe the taste but the texture was chewy yet jello-y? My friend is obsessed with the taro bubble tea. I refuse to try it because I'm not a fan of taro but I'm gonna go ahead and tell you if you like taro, you should definitely try it!! You can't go wrong with it. Normal milk tea- was actually really good! It tasted very authentic and actually reminded me of home when my mom used to make me milk tea when I was younger. I love this place! I get off at Westlake station every day when I'm coming home from work and it's a challenge each day deciding whether I should let myself indulge in some of their milk tea. I had recently just discovered the oh-so-wonderful milk tea from Happy Lemon so I was not expecting this to even compare, but I was happily surprised. The milk tea was delicious! It's not as great as Happy Lemon milk tea, but it's definitely a great substitute for when I don't want to bus all the way to Bellevue Square for it. I love that it's very sweet and tastes like real, quality ingredients. I recommend getting it with the cheese foam. So yummy! I've also tried their taro smoothie and this is SOOO good! This item they definitely do better than Happy Lemon. I think they use a combination of the powder and real taro because the pretty, bright purple color is definitely powder-esque, but there are also chunks of real taro in it--yay! It's really delicious and I can't wait for it to get warmer so that I don't freeze even more on my walk home cuz I'm drinking this. Not sure why it surprised me to see a boba/bubble tea drink truck. But Dreamy Drinks has lightened up the Seattle scene with their dreamy unicorn boba truck. Their menu isn't too crazy, but some of their short term lingo was a bit confusing. For instance there are a couple drinks that has the words "no coffee", next to it. It means that you can ADD coffee to some of their drinks if you need that extra caffeine hit. Looking at the menu they will make other drinks upon request. Not sure how crazy you can get but someone go try it out! All their drinks range between $4-$6. Some including toppings some not. If you want to add toppings they are an extra $0.50. Only 2 of their drinks can come hot their classic milk tea with boba and the jasmine green tea with boba. I ordered the well known Strawberry Matcha Latte $5.50, & you get a free topping when you check-in with Yelp. I'd advise to change the sweetness level... then again I'm old ... and can't handle my drinks as sweet as I use too. For bubble tea on the go, Dreamy Drink is alright. My friend and I checked their schedule and saw that they set shop at Westlake Park every week, so decided to go on a Tuesday after work. While my friend ordered the Strawberry Matcha Latte I ordered the Taro Smoothie (I can't ever resist taro!). When you check in on Yelp at Dreamy Drinks you get a free topping, so we both went with the boba. Drinks didn't take long to get, despite there being a line of peeps waiting for orders. The drinks sure did look pretty! However, my friend mentioned that her Strawberry Matcha Latte tasted watered down, so didn't have as much of that matcha flavor she hoped for. I did like my Taro Smoothie. I ordered mine with zero sugar and less ice, and have to say, it tasted sweet even without sugar. Taro flavor was certainly there and liked that it didn't have a lot of ice blended with. I would definitely get the Taro Smoothie again, and recommend for any taro fans to try. Spotted this boba truck by accident on Friday, and decided to give it a try. Obviously what stands out is their superb marketing. Uniquely designed cups, stoppers, logo, etc. Everything about this place screams Instagram. The drink itself is easily better than Oasis and on par with Young Tea. I ordered the black tea with cheese foam and boba. What I appreciated off the bat is that the standard flavor is not overly sweet like most boba chains. No need to ask for half or little sugar. They also don't overdo it with the ice, maximizing the tea to ice ratio. Ona related note, the black tea flavor comes through and doesn't taste diluted from melted water. Cheese foam seems to be the trend the last few years, and I'm sold. It's a good subtle combination, and Dreamy Drinks delivers here. In terms of the boba balls themselves...they're fresh, smooth, with good firmness to them. But if I'm being nitpicky, I was left wanting on chewiness. That - and honestly not enough boba for the price (~$5.50 for a medium drink at a food truck) - are the two reasons why it falls short of 5 stars. Dreamy is the perfect word to describe the drinks here. I love everything about this truck! It's purple, has a unicorn for its logo, and it serves bubble tea! Ballard doesn't have bubble tea options and I was thrilled when this truck was posted nearby. I hope it becomes a frequent location! This truck seems to be primarily in downtown Seattle based off the schedule I've seen so far, but check their IG for updates. All the pictures on their Instagram look beautiful! There is so much variety, I wanted to try them all. I settled on one of their specialty drinks; strawberry matcha latte. I added boba and it was delicious! It came out to be about $6 which seems in line for a speciality drink. The cup was so cute! It came with a stopper that was a pink heart. Literally exploding with cuteness! There are two slots to easily insert straws (thick and thin). Less of mess than trying to jam it in like most bubble tea places, so I appreciate the thoughtfulness of that lid design.
