This is a super cute little tea room in the heart of Marysville. I have taken two friends there for a birthday and it was lovely both times. They offer packages which include sandwich bites, scones and delicious baked treats. My one friend is gluten-free and they also offer treats she could have. The place is decorated lovely and they have an amazing assortment of tea to choose from. Just a nice little place to drop in and have some tea or make a reservation for a special event. Cute and nice Tea Room to go for birthdays! We went here to celebrate my friends birthday since she wanted High Tea and we got the Grand Lady for three of us. When we arrived we got to choose our own special teacup to drink out of. I liked having the option to choose. The Tea Room is all decked out in well decorated spaces to enjoy high tea with a group of friends. Compared to another High tea place I went to it's not as fancy and more casual and more affordable option if you want a lowkey place to enjoy the activity. In the Grand Lady option, we got a sorbet with a savory. The sorbet was watermelon flavored and I really liked it. The savory option was this little bread with cheese? It was alright. We had tiers for our desserts and sandwiches. There was a variety of six different sandwiches and about five different desserts. I really liked the jalapeño jam sandwich, it was different and I also liked the bread pudding. In the middle tier of the desserts there were these big scones and we each chose our topping. I was expecting the topping to be in a ceramic container but it was in a plastic one. Nothing particularly bad about that just something to note! I liked that Attic Secrets actually has a wide variety when it comes to tea options, like the list is long to choose from. I really enjoyed my Summer in Seattle black tea. Attic Secrets is Marysville's best-kept secret. In our quest to find an affordable high tea experience under $100 per person, we decided to venture outside of Seattle, and I'm so glad we did. Heading north, we found ourselves at this charming tea house, where even Santa and Mrs. Claus made an appearance. They were incredibly kind to the children, taking the time to walk around the tea house and chat with guests, adding a special touch to the experience. From the moment you step inside, the place feels incredibly inviting. I could write a novel about how adorable it is. Each tea room has its own theme--ours was Alice in Wonderland, which was perfect for our 4-year-old companion. Kids are warmly welcomed, and they even have special kid-friendly plates. The food was average, but the tea was the star of the show. We tried several varieties, sharing among our group, which is definitely the way to go if you want to sample a bit of everything. I left with a bag full of tea, and each one is absolutely delicious! I'm puzzled why they have 3.3 stars. Go and see for yourself. read more

I came here for a nine-year-old tea birthday party and it was adorable. GLOWS: - I loved how there were individual rooms for different groups of people so it felt very private for parties. They were all decorated differently so you had a whole thing going on and it was all very cute. - We liked all the teas we tried, and there was a very large selection of teas. - Were our favorite. They were moist and really buttery and yummy and I loved eating it with the lemon custard and the whip cream. - the cakes were given that were very moist and flavorful and there was a chocolate one and a vanilla one - their gluten-free was very impressive, and my friend was very pleased that she was able to eat something. She said her gluten-free items were all very good. GROWS - The first savory item that the tea set came with was not good at all. I'm not even sure what it was, but it tasted like cardboard. It was like a cheese and chive biscuit or something and it just tasted like cardboard. Not to mention it was tiny. - the sandwiches that the tea sets came with could've been filled with a little more filling. I felt like there were quite thin for what they were. Some of them I couldn't even tell what the fillings were because it was like a sliver of an apple or a sliver of spread. - though all the rooms were very cute, Everything seemed a little outdated and older looking. It wasn't modern by any means. - I don't think a lot of people work here so sometimes it was hard to get the attention of the servers. As long as you are aware of this, it shouldn't be too bad because you can just make sure you have everything in advance or go to the door by the kitchen to get their attention. They just seem understaffed so they don't come check in with you as much. Also, because the rooms are all separated it might be hard for them to know you're trying to wave them down. Overall, the nine-year-old had a wonderful time and so that the adults that were there. We enjoyed the meal and we were full by the time we left. We even took home leftovers. Looking back now I would not get Grand lady because that was not really necessary And the price was not really worth it so next time I would get one step down. read more

I came here to celebrate my grandmother's 90th birthday. This used to be her favorite tea house until the this recent trip. Immediately upon walking out we as a group decided we don't want to come back. I'm so appalled that I'm writing this the same day we went. The only shining light was our gracious server who happily took our photos and accommodated our large group with grace. She handled our large orders and many teapots as our group of 9 chatted away. Even making reccomendations on tea which ended up being excellent choices. As someone from the hospitality world I understand how demanding a group of our size is paired with the experience they offer here and I can see our server was clearly young. Regardless of age she balanced our multiple tiers of sandwiches, teapots, and did so with a positive attitude. The reason for the one star was the ruckus in the kitchen. We could clearly hear a man yelling and trying to intimidate another person in the kitchen by hitting something followed by a large crash then more yelling. That same man seemed to be stalking around the kitchen from our view point. My cousin could hear the same man yelling at someone about the silverware. Clearly no decorum or ability to communicate with others if he is yelling at full volume in a tea house. Whoever owns this business needs to do a gut check on the temperament of those they hire. There is no place for language and attitudes like that in the workplace. Kitchens I understand can be high stress but these are finger sandwiches for crying out loud! Abusive workplaces need to be a thing of the past. I would rather go somewhere that the owner has fostered a positive work environment for their employees and patrons alike. There is no tea or sandwich that is good enough to sit in a tense environment while the people working in the kitchen are ripping each other to shreds. I'm leaving this review because I recently saw a post on FB where someone was trying to rally others to leave negative reviews. That doesn't reflect the reality of this place at all, and it felt important to speak up as someone who actually comes here regularly. I've been coming to this tea house for over seven years, and I've had nothing but wonderful experiences every single time (their service IS slower, but this is a place meant to unplug from every day). It's one of my favorite relaxing spots in town, and I've been bringing my child here since he was a newborn. This tea house is child‑friendly, but like any calm, cozy environment, it's not meant for kids who are allowed to run around, disturb others, or treat the space like a playground. If your child can sit with you, enjoy a snack, read, color, or just relax, you'll have absolutely no issues here. My child has always been welcomed and treated kindly. The staff works hard, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the community they've built is something I genuinely appreciate. I'll continue supporting this tea house, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a calm, respectful environment, with or without kids. If you're on the fence, I really encourage you to visit and decide for yourself. The owner was screaming and threatening a mother and her very well behaved children scaring them out of his business today. They had to close the door on this man because they feared they were going to be attacked by him. Don't advertise your business as child friendly if you don't have the patience to give a KIND verbal warning. If you don't want to give a verbal warning then maybe post a sign? Many APPROPRIATE ways to handle this but what happened today was NOT Attic Secrets etiquette! Please rethink when wanting to bring your children to this business as you run the risk of this happening to you as well. The space is quaint, and we were initially charmed. Unfortunately, what we witnessed during our visit left us deeply unsettled and I feel compelled to share. Our server was very sweet and attentive young girl. During our meal, we suddenly heard a loud crash from the kitchen, followed by yelling and what sounded like someone in distress. It was jarring enough that the whole tea room stopped mid-conversation. When we went to pay, we noticed the young server was visibly upset and crying. We tried to offer her a few kind words and she forced a smile, but something felt very off. There was clear tension as we left.  What I observed when I briefly returned inside was deeply upsetting. The same young girl was being loudly berated by two adults in the kitchen - relentlessly criticized for what seemed like every aspect of her work, from how she handled utensils to how many plates she could carry. The tone and volume were aggressive, cruel, and entirely inappropriate for any employee, let alone someone so young.   It was later confirmed to us that the two adults are the owners. I left feeling truly heartsick. I rarely write reviews, but I can't in good conscience stay silent. What we witnessed was not just poor management. It felt like something far more troubling. I sincerely hope the young server is safe and receives the support she deserves. No matter how cute the decor may be, nothing can make up for an environment that feels unsafe and unkind behind closed doors. read more

We were here 2x but it was over a year ago. We had a fun time then and food was ok but service was great. But now, the service was somewhat lacking. The 2 women weren't welcoming, didn't smile at all. The sandwiches were bland and simple for the price (bread/cream cheese/slice of deli meat or apple slices) no special flavor. Not sure what to say about the cake/scone/cookie, my kid who loves sweets took one bite of each but didn't care for them, neither did I. The place looks neat/clean but the lights were flickering. they should consider fixing the mini chandelier or turn it off. This place is still over priced but with worse food and service. I belong to a group of woman who routinely frequent area tea shops. We have been to attic secrets several times before and enjoyed it. However, this time it was awful. We were served mango sorbet that smelled and tasted like fish. Fish! When we politely brought this to the owner attention she gave us attitude. When our sandwiches arrived they were sparsely filled and not at all as delicious as they've been in the past. The service was terrible including the fact the offensive fishy sorbet remained at our table throughout our meal. We will never go back. read more

Used to love this place! NOT ANYMORE. I will not be coming back to this place. The last couple times I've been here it has not been cozy or comforting. There is no music and the ambient lighting is very sterile. It's cold and unwelcoming. There are only 2 employees and they don't clean up after tables leave, they leave food sitting there. The host doesn't smile and doesn't seem happy to have customers. The owner is extremely unorganized and forgot half of our order. A couple of years ago when the old owner was running this place it was amazing but now I would not recommend this place to anyone. It's not worth your money and time. read more

Absolutely whimsical and wonderful. I've been coming here since I was 5, and as an adult I still love coming here. A small slice of heaven. The service is wonderful and the decor is BEAUTIFUL! Many complain that it takes a while for food, but this is not a café. It is similar to a European dining experience where you enjoy your surroundings and your company. This is one of the few remaining tea rooms north of Seattle, so that alone should be worth multiple stars. The decor is the pink, floral, dainty style one expects. A fun feature: each guest chooses a tea cup from a display to take to their table for tea. The shop has an array of small rooms, which is very cozy. There are so many tea varieties! Our selections were brought promptly. The menu is varied: it is possible to have lunch if dainty sandwiches are not your thing. The scones are clearly the featured item, and they are huge, not at all the little triangles or rounds served elsewhere. There are a number of toppings from which to choose, served on the side, plenty to dip into multiple times to cover the king sized scone. All of that said, I don't think one comes here for the food. I had soup and a half panini, with a scone with lemon curd for dessert, and all of it was fine, if not memorable. I think where Attic Secrets shines is that it's a place to celebrate a special occasion with other girls or women that is different than a coffee shop or pub. If you enjoy tea, they offer a variety of teas that one wouldn't find at a lunch or brunch place. read more

The staff was kind and English was the primary language. I requested a highchair for my 2yo child and requested a table by a window to help keep my kid "happily distracted." I was assured a window seat would be available. In person: Attended at 11 AM on a Friday. We were 2 adult women 2yo toddler. Dining as a friends brunch. Decor: light, bright, and bold feminine decor. I noted they had a "princess" room with a Disney princess theme while we were being shown our table. Highchair was provided, but they took us to a windowless room. The entire space hardly had any people (3 other additional people in the entire space), so I don't understand why they didn't honor my reservation request. It made it more difficult to keep my toddler entertained during our time there. Tea choices were excellent! Flavors I hadn't heard of before. Both adults ordered the full $28 afternoon tea. I tried the pineapple upside down tea, perfect temperature, and HIGHLY recommend the flavor! It had a strong pineapple note with more of a maple syrup flavor rather than caramel, and a slightly thicker and smooth mouthfeel. I can't wait to go back and try more flavors in the future. Served with a strawberry sorbet. Tasted homemade, had seeds still in it. Refreshing and light, perfect palate cleanser, not overly sweet. Food: Scones were fluffy and dense in heart shapes, devonshire cream was silky and light, and lemon curd had that sharp, sweet tang. All were excellent with good texture flavor and temperature. The small finger sized desserts were okay, but too sweet for me. I'm Asian, so I don't prefer overly-sweetened things--it's a personal preference. I took some home, and my Caucasian spouse loved them. He enjoys sweeter treats. Sandwiches were excellent. We tried all of their flavors. Each sandwich type had its own shape, well portioned fillings for tea, and tasted fresh, a variety of plain and bold flavors, and the amount of filling for the sandwiches was satisfying. A variety between soft fillings and crunchy fillings to provide texture. The tea trays, saucers, and cups were lovely, looked well cleaned and cared for, and added to the lovely atmosphere. I took one star due to slow service, despite only 3 additional people being present in the dining areas. An additional 4-top table was filled and still looking at the menu by the time we left. The star was also removed due to not sitting where we requested 1 week prior. These two reasons made keeping my toddler entertained much harder. Despite those 2 things, this would be a great place for single person dining, couples, friends, and families with children kindergarten age and older. I don't recommend for toddlers unless you have a larger group to keep your toddler entertained. I will definitely be going again, but will plan when I'm child-free for that period of time until my child is older and can handle being at a table long term. We have been coming here for a number of years before they expanded. We tried to order some food on DoorDash today and waited for 15 minutes for the order to be confirmed. I called the restaurant asking if they received the order, the lady who answered the phone(Madison) told me they hadn't received the order and to call DoorDash, there's nothing she could do about it. Okay, fair enough I understand that. The tone in her voice was quite snarky and rude, that is the main issue here. Since I was now nearby the restaurant to pick up my order I opted to just walk in and order my food in the traditional order, to go. I was told 30 minutes, because they were quite busy at the time, no problem, I understand that. She asked for my phone number so she could call me when my order was ready. After 40 minutes I decided to walk in and check on my order because it's been an hour and 10 minutes since I originally tried to place my DoorDash order, and thought maybe they would try rush it because of the inconvenience. I walked in the door was stood there for a good 3 to 4 minutes before being greeted. During this time I heard employees gossiping in the back(first door on the right in the main welcoming room.) Of course Madison was one of those employees, I asked about my order. I was told she(cook/chef) was midway through my order, and it would be another 20 minutes, and said sorry in a non professional snarky way. After a total of an hour after walking into the restaurant, I received my food. Note this was at 2:00pm on a Friday. I don't care about waiting for food, but the way this employee handled all my interactions with her were horrible. I have been coming here for years and never have received the service I have today from this establishment. I won't be coming back, I'm not sure if they have new ownership or what but I cannot support a business with rude and snarky employees giving customers attitude. read more

One of my favorite tea shops in the area. They have a wide and delicious selection of teas (blacks, greens, whites, oolongs) that were delicious! I visited with a friend and we each tried two different flavors, for a total of 4 different teas, and we both loved all of them. Something really special about this place is that they have quite a few different rooms and each room seems to have a different color scheme and theme to it. It really plays into the princess palace tea party idea. Especially because you get to pick out your own tea cup from the shelf which helps to make the experience feel more individualized. The only issue that I had was that the food, while it looked beautiful and fun, did not really pack a lot of flavor. I got the breakfast sandwich and my friend and I shared a plate of cookies (varied selection) and everything tasted okay, just not great. Though, I do really love their scones. I've tried a few different scones from here and I do really love those. Overall, it was a really nice experience, especially for the price which I feel is very fair. My family has been coming here for years. Pre Covid we probably had 5 birthday parties here and we're regular customers and always came for their Mother's Day and Christmas events. The parties and events and Just occasional drop ins were absolutely amazing with great food and staff. When it was time for my daughters birthday party last year where did she want to go!? Her favorite place. We hadn't been in a year due to Covid restrictions but everything was opening up so I called and made reservations. I called ahead of time with what food id be ordering and what drinks. When my large party got there, they informed me they didn't have any of the food I had pre ordered, no creamer for coffee, they pretty much had nothing. They said they were not prepared at all, when I asked what happened I was told that the manager whom I had made the reservations with prior (and had spoken to a few times about the event) took my menu choices and quit and took the information with her I want to say her name was Jessica but I could be totally wrong, I Just remember the waitress saying she took them and disappeared and we got a good laugh out of the missing Manager that took our food orders. So anyways after we got that figured out, our drinks started rolling in after an extremely large wait, cold teas, dirty cups and bugs in the kids lemonades. I had asked for the girls lemonade to be put in tea cups but when she brought them Our in adult sized glasses was told that was not allowed(which is weird because before the girls always picked out their own glasses and they poured the lemonade in there for them) Once the food rolled out it was much smaller portions than before and what they had in stock was not as good like it had been in the past. Service was extremely slow and the waitress was very rude and acted very annoyed by us. Anyways fast forward a year, my daughters birthday is coming up again and she wanted to go to attic secret. However they have changed their policy and you have to pay a fee to rent a room if you have a big family (we're a family of 8) after reading the new reviews, and seeing how their service hasn't improved we will not waste $100 just for a room and an additional$100+ for bad quality food/tea and bad/rude service. read more

This is one of my favorite corners of the world. Well, Snohomish County at least! When you first walk in, it could be a little overwhelming. There are doilies and floral things everywhere. But it's all part of that atmosphere. You get to choose your own teacup and matching saucer which is always fun. I used to come here about once a month with a girlfriend to catch up with her. We loved sharing the 3 tiered platter that had fun tea sandwiches (cut into fun shapes like stars, hearts etc) and small tea cakes and desserts. We each would get the ceasar salad and a pot of tea each. We would share our teas with each other because it was never ending. They come by with hot water to refill your pot. The little sugar cubes and cream are a fun additive. The food is delightful and the tea is so good. They have lots of options to choose from, and will even have seasonal ones come through as well. I've been here for a bridal shower party too. They have a bigger room in the back for parties and it was so much fun. It put a fun twist on your typical bridal shower. They have party platters that they bring out for the party. They also have unique gifts in the shop for tea lovers. I haven't been in over a year, so things could have changed. I am gluten free now, so I'm not sure what those options would look like, if any. If there are however, i would LOVE to go back and make some more memories. read more

My daughter had a friend's birthday tea party there. I had intended to stay, but was told I could go too. I was missing my niece's basketball game to take my daughter to the party, and they were both really close-so it kind of worked out. I was kind of bummed because I wanted to have tea and food too, but after the game I talked my sister into going back w/ me early and seeing if they could squeeze us in. When we first got there, the woman up front told us we could come back in a few hours. I explained the situation w/ my daughter and she said if we put our food order in shortly after we were seated, she'd get us in now! So that's what we did. The tea and food were good, they allowed for alterations to our orders, they were prompt with the tea/food and after sitting us down, we didn't feel rushed at all. My daughter was really hesitant about going to a "tea party", but she had an absolute blast! (She wants her birthday there next year) The only thing that I didn't care for and the reason for 4 stars is the parking and the signage wasn't very prominent. At first we had a hard time finding the place, then when we did, we weren't sure where to park. But we'll definitely go again! read more

I've been twice, once with my daughter and another time with my best friend. Both times the tea was SO good! Both times we enjoyed looking at the items for sale throughout the shop and purchased several gifts while there. It's fun selecting our teacup from the cupboard when you first enter before being seated. First visit our waitress was super friendly, welcoming and very attentive, generously refreshing our teapots, inviting us to sip and visit and enjoy our stay. The food was fresh, good with just the right combination of sweet, savory and sweet tart. We left expectant to come again and again and bring our daughters. Sadly, my second visit with my daughter was the opposite. This is why the two-star rating rather than three or four. Our 40 min. drive for tea was disappointing. Tables were too crowded and uncomfortable, our food was not fresh and our Devonshire cream was turning... lemon curd was grainy/lumpy. Our waiter was super rushed, abrupt and unwelcoming. We left wondering if the poor experience was because we used a Groupon rather than paid full price... Because the first experience was so good- I will go back with hopes that there is more consistency in the food, atmosphere, and service. Even teashops can have a bad day. read more

Visited for the first time as a birthday treat from my daughters, and was sadly disappointed. The place is cute and has great potential, and perhaps we really did catch them on an off day, however so much was lacking. The waitress did say they were short staffed and come to think of it, it appeared she was running the entire show by herself. Thank goodness, it was far from busy. We were patient that it took over an hour to get served, that was understandable, but then to be told they were out of various items, such as the scones, one of the key parts of the meal, was a little surprising. (If you have a reservation list, you know how many are due on given day, how can you run out? ) In exchange we were told we could have chocolate pudding, but I explained that I don't care for chocolate. "Oh, alright", was the reply and that was it. It was like she was saying, " Take it or leave it, suite yourself". We were also shorted on another food item too, but yet charged full price anyway, with no consolation of any kind. What was served wasn't all that great and very little, but by then we were all very hungry, so it was eaten. My daughters and I made light of it and enjoyed our time together anyway, but it could have been a much better experience. read more

Cashed in my Amazon Local deal over the weekend for Attic Secrets and I could not have been more pleased with the "deal". I went to a bridal shower at Attic Secrets a couple years ago and thought the food and service was great - even for a rowdy crowd like ours! I ordered a few days prior since this was a "to go" deal and not a dine in offer. Which ended up being OK. I did not know this at the time of purchase but after recently purchasing a home and putting up a Christmas tree my boyfriend and I had sweet little tea lunch by the tree - such a sport! He actually really enjoyed it and we'll be going again when family is in town. Love that boy! Pick up was at 11:30, I was about 45 minutes late and had to wait about 5 or so minutes for my order to be ready, no biggie. Gave me a few minutes to shop and pick up a gift certificate for high tea as a gift. I was sent off with three large Styrofoam containers containing lots of goodies - 3 types of tea sandwiches (egg salad, ham and a veggie and cream cheese) two scones with the most delicious lemon curd and almond drizzle, cookies AND chocolate bundt cake! Oh and don't forget the tea too. I really appreciate the accommodation for decaf tea but I wish they had some printed instructions to go along with - I guessed on steep time. I went to a fundraiser event being held here almost a month ago and had such a great time, I decided to have a Valentines date with my friends. We had such a blast and really switched up our normal starbucks get together. The tea selection is huge. There's something in there for even the most pickiest tea drinker. We had Strawberry summertime green tea and Green apple green tea. The tea cups are adorable. We chose scones and finger sandwiches to go along with it. The lemon scones come with a spread and are delicious! This place would make the perfect mom and daughter date. They sell their tea also so I picked up the strawberry tea to enjoy at home. On a side note I think you need to make reservations for Fridays and Saturdays. We found out the hard way. read more

I held my daughters 6th birthday party here and had a great time and experience. We reserved the 2 back room areas and had about 20 kids, plus 10 parents. The staff was WONDERFUL with the kids and adults. We were not rushed in or out, we always had full tea and juices and the food was great. They did special little cupcakes for my daughter, it was really perfect. My youngest daughter wants to have her 5th birthday party here this December. I also frequently visit for lunch or high tea, it is always great. read more

We had the Grand Lady tea and the meal itself was delightful. However, the service is the weak spot here. After we enjoyed our meal, we were ignored. We had to flag down a waitress zooming by to ask for containers for left overs. We never received a check and finally got up and walked out to the cash register, then waited at least 30 minutes for someone to come out from the back and wait on us. They're lucky we're honest and didn't just dine and dash. read more

We waited over an hour for 6 cold sandwiches to come out to our table (we were the only customers in the restuarant). After asking why our food was taking so long the staff proceeded to tell us that that was protocol and that we can email the owner if we want help with our concerns. This is a very cute tea room with very friendly service and beautiful rooms. I've been here quite a few times and have not been disappointed! It's not quite as fancy as some tea rooms but they do a great job and also make it family friendly which is nice! They have a really fun gift shop with all sorts of fun knick knacks too. Cute atmosphere. Never had a "tea party" before. My Bff and I came here. I had purchased the Groupon and called and made reservations. Our server was Nanna, oops might be Nonna. Nonna was fun, witty and a bit sarcastic, just like ourselves. We enjoyed her very much and I know you check these Nonna, I told you i' d write a review!! Scones....to die for.... I didn't know Scones could be so amazing. Lots of teas to choose from. We were in our own private room. It was great. Food was ok. Lots of mixed reviews. Give this place a shot!! I have gone to Attic Secrets a few times but not sure I will be back. They just had one person so the service was very slow, which isn't my main complaint. My main complaint is the food. It has gone downhill big time. I had the tea service and the ham sandwiches had no ham or very little ham. I have never had a ham sandwich with no ham in it. It was basically stale bread with a little jam and cream cheese. Cucumber sandwiches had very slim slice of cucumber so again it just tasted like stale bread. Bread was stale and the fillings were so minimal you couldn't taste them. For the price it was not worth it at all. read more
