When we arrived it was 5:48pm we walked to the door and we realized it was closed and no one was inside.The person that was there closed before 6pm, when we realized it was a SUV sitting right out front my wife waved and got her attention and asked if we could do a quick walk through she declined, after my wife shared it was not 6pm she said sorry we close at 6pm and to come back another time. She was rude and very short. We drove 45 mins to look at the model home and we sent a message stating we were 9 mins away. The Design Center is amazing. There's a ton of variety and everything is comprehensively laid out, making it easy to envision your design. Unfortunately, because of COVID, you can't go around touching everything but on the plus side, that's a good thing since they're practicing safe measures. I appreciate the "eye" the designers have. If your color choice or pattern is going to clash with the rest of your home selections, they're right there to make a suggestion or give you tips. I worked with Melisa and had full faith in her suggestions and I loved the collaborative process overall. By the time the appointments were over, I felt very confident in my decisions -- which speaks volumes because these choices are often lifelong or rarely changed down the road (brick color, flooring, cabinet types, etc.), so I look forward to seeing it all get pulled together when my home is finished. read more

We don't write negative reviews but we wanted to make sure others don't fall for this scam. Absolutely disgusted with the sales agent Laurel Hunt at Northbrook Place in Plano. Both parties agreed on terms and price but She played us for over a week, manipulated the process and finally contracted with a different buyer without informing us. She was dishonest, nontransparent, manipulative and had no decency. Drees and its sales team failed us! We spent time, energy, resources and emotions. When we voiced our frustration, she attacked us in her text message. We have been residing in Plano for over 25 years and don't want this kind of businesses in our town. Don't recommend to deal with Laurel Hunt or any Drees new construction site period! Our advice: stay away!! Truly wish Google had a zero rating option. read more

Drees would not fix damage due to high humidity in upstairs or make repairs to inadequately installed AC unit. Blamed fish tanks. update when i got the lennox service rep. they had placed the compressor in front of the dryer vent causing it to become a fire hazard and clogging the compressor. also it turned out the thermostat was installed incorrectly. lennox replaces it with e one that communicated with the hvac system to reduce the humidity in the house. total cost about $5,000 to install the correct thermostats and move the compressor away from the dryer vent. read more

This is the third home I have built and the third builder. This experience in the Design Center was by far the best experience. My designer, Liz, has been totally amazing. She took the time to learn my taste and made spot on recommendations for me. The number of options and choices you have is expansive and could be overwhelming if you did not have someone to help navigate it for you. Liz served that role impeccably. A few items I originally ordered were either discontinued or were not available when it came time to install them. Liz offered substitutions that were seamless. If I liked something that was outside my budget, she would make suggestions within my budget that worked just as well. I never felt like I had to compromise on my interior design working with Liz. If I ever need a designer again, I would seek her out in a heartbeat. read more

Worst builder I have ever worked with. Management disrespectable to customers. Drees call themselves as custom builders but they do not honor what they advertised on their brochure. I have signed a contract and requested for something they advertised on the brochure and they terminated my contract just to sell the same for more premium. Drees kept threating me at every instance that they will terminate the contract and finally ended the contract without my consent. Don't buy Drees because they are custom builders, they are not. Build On Your Own Lot program in Dallas is shady and that's putting it mildly. They will nickle and dime you till the end. When homes don't appraise because of overly inflated prices you are stuck holding the bag...after shady sales rep (Maurine) assures you "Drees always does the right thing. We would never keep your money if something beyond your control goes wrong". Not a word from anyone about $6600.00 initial payment of earnest money loss when home appraised $100k less than asking price. They kept every dime and didn't bother to explain or justify rationale for keeping our money! Sales manager (Tim) said...a home is worth what you're willing to buy it for. An appraisal means nothing... Pick another builder because you will either pay an arm and leg or you'll lose ANY money you agree to pay them. Just glad we got out before any more of our hard earned money was given to the sharks at Drees...! read more

Seems weird to see reviews for the design center that have nothing to do with the actual design center so here is a real one. We had Liz working with us and she was a huge asset in this process. It is our 3rd design center in recent years, each with a different builder. As with anything, nicer and more is not cheaper. We thought a lot of upgrades were a little more than we would have hoped but most were easy enough to justify or leave out without feeling like it was a huge loss. There were so many items and options that were offered. They really can make your home custom to you. It's not just color and material selections like we've experienced in the past. They add another dimension compared to others. It made us wonder why our previous builders never offered some of the options that were presented to us. If you build with Drees, budget a little extra for the design center. They are going to give you options like no other to make your home really pop. You will actually look forward to your visits. Liz had unbelievable follow up and was 100% accommodating. I will be afraid not to go with Drees should we ever build again and I will ask for Liz at the design center! read more

From the sales reps to the builder and the warranty department, this company is all about customer service and satisfaction. Not only are they fast to respond, but they work around our schedule and send out professionals to do quality work. I was pleasantly shocked to also find that the contractors sent from Warranty also cleaned up after themselves when they did minor touch-ups such as painting, electrical, and carpet repair (a hard spot in the padding was removed and replaced). They've even gone above what they needed to do according to the purchase agreement.
