At the visit before that, he was already missing some O-ties, so this seems to be an ongoing issue. Trying to get this addressed has been frustrating. When I call the office, the voicemail is full, so I can't even leave a message. Texting isn't much better--it takes about three days just to schedule an appointment, and sometimes messages are read but never responded to. It's concerning that communication and follow-up have declined so much, especially when the quality of the orthodontic work seems inconsistent. At the same time, payment is always expected promptly when we arrive. I really hope the office improves both their responsiveness and the reliability of their work.

About two years ago I needed braces really bad - I'd had a molar removed, leaving a gaping hole…read morethat caused all my teeth to shift, as the Beyonce song goes, to the left to the left. (Before I came to Dr. Kim my regular dentist took x-rays, and in that x-ray almost all my teeth were at a 45 degree angle. It was nutty.) I was grinding my teeth so bad I was waking myself up at night, and I had jaw pain because my jaw was trying to shift to accommodate the moving teeth. You can imagine how much fun my life was at this point in time. Dr. Kim actually remarked several times on how he was amazed I could eat, because only one tooth was striking in the back. Well, Dr. Kim, if you're reading this then I will tell you: basically nothing short of the apocalypse will keep me from eating. I find ways to get what I want, and what I want is pizza. If you're in my situation (braces) you basically go in for a consultation, then make an appointment to get the braces themselves, then come back once a month for adjustments for several years until one day when Dr. Kim says there isn't much more to be done, and stop biting me.* Probably what you're wondering is: is it worth it? For me, yes. I was in rough shape, dentally speaking. I had x-rays done at my semi-annual check up at the dentist a few weeks ago and couldn't believe how straight my teeth looked. Nothing is guaranteed, but I seem to be one of the fortunate ones whose jaw pain stopped when my teeth realigned. My grinding has stopped (ironically, I was probably grinding my teeth from stress about my teeth). My teeth look the best they ever have, and most importantly, they're HEALTHY. Also a shout out to Dr. Lee, who I probably drove crazy when about 8 months ago I called multiple times (I want to say 8-10 times) because I was in terrible pain from a spring stabbing my gum (don't be scared, the spring was there because as mentioned above, I had a missing molar) and Google was swearing up and down Kim and Lee were open (they weren't). Poor Dr. Lee called me back and graciously agreed to see me real quick to see if she could do anything (it's likely she did it just to shut me up, but I didn't care because I was hurting so bad). So thank you, too, Dr. Lee! Dr. Kim, Paula and Kelly (and Dr. Lee) were all amazing. If I ever end up braces again I would come here without hesitation. My only criticism is that they have really limited hours, (only open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, no matter what Google tells you), so hopefully you live nearby, work from home or have a job that will let you take off a couple hours early once a month for the next couple of years. *In my defense I was under a bit of stress from a minor car accident
