Wow, I wish I saw these other reviews before hiring this company to do my move this past Saturday. I reached out to Drifa's moving based on all the positive reviews I read on some community pages. The day of the move, my experience was great! However, it was when I discovered some things wrong after the fact and the lack of accountability the company had for their mistakes that led me to share my poor experience. On Saturday, Rusty and another mover came to move us out of our two-bedroom apartment. We were moving a majority of our furniture into storage. One of the items to be moved was a king size mattress. The mattress was carried out of my apartment on its side, and placed flat on the floor in the hallway before being moved down to the truck. My husband met the guys at the storage unit where they unloaded the mattress, folded in half and tied together with ratchet straps. The mattress was the last thing to come out of the truck and was put into the unit as shown in the first picture. Since I wasn't at the unit, I was unaware of how the mattress was stored. When we returned to the unit two days later, we had to pull most of the items out in order to lay the mattress flat (as mattresses should be stored). Because the mattress had been folded, it now contains several humps that were not there beforehand. After leaving the storage unit, my husband and I returned to our apartment to finish clearing out some last minute items. Upon returning, we discovered that our adjustable bases were left sitting in the hallway on the first floor (we moved out of the fourth floor) for two days. I immediately called and spoke with Kerri who assured me she would reach out to Rusty. When I didn't hear anything back the same day, I sent a text message the following morning asking for a resolution. The response I got was that they won't have time to come back and move the bases and that they were told to package the mattress that way. I immediately called my credit card company to dispute the charges. I also decided to post about my experience on my Facebook page as well as the business page. Because I posted as public, and tagged the company, Rusty was able to comment. Within minutes of me posting, that's when Rusty decided to call, text and comment saying he wanted to make things right. Definitely do yourself a favor and look for a company that values their customers. I understand that mistakes happen, but to lie and blame us for their mistakes instead of owning up and making things right is just bad business. read more

They were great, prompt and priced well. They made a very stressful move so much simpler. I would highly recommend and would use them again.

I want to be as clear as possible and provide all the details with my involvement dealing with this company, because it is important and they should not be in business. I called about a week and a half before my scheduled move and reserved three workers to help me move on July 28th...which was the last day for me in my house before handing over the keys to the new owner. I sold my house and in the contract had thirty days before I had to vacate...which in that time I had to find another house and get all of that scheduled. Back to back closings and the race was on to get some major construction done on my new place like drywall work, hardwood floor installation and refinishing...it was a busy month and down to the wire with allowing drying time for the floors. There was no wiggle room in the schedule at all. And note I wasn't moving on the last day of the month either...the 28th. When I made the reservation, Keri said I needed to give a deposit for a minimum of three hours...and each person was $100 per hour. So the deposit wasn't for three hundred like I assumed it would be but $900. No big deal I thought. After that I never got a confirmation phone call Email or anything. Moving day they were supposed to arrive at 9am...nobody showed up. I gave it a few minutes and tried o call...no answer. Panic ensued, because I thought I was dealing with a reliable company. I kept calling and around 9:15-9:20 Keri finally answered. She said she didn't know what was going on. Are you kidding me? After a very heated conversation and several phone calls back and forth, she said, oh yeah Rusty wanted me to call and see if you could reschedule for next week! She claimed he was sick and had COVID...which is total bullshit. This is a moving company wanting to reschedule my move thirty minutes after they are late? Who could possibly have this flexibility? Like even if I could, I'm just supposed to sit around with everything boxed and wrapped ready to be loaded on a truck for a week? Insane to say the least. So I searched for a uhaul...found one and reserved it...and I immediately posted what happened to the online Facebook group WAX where I had heard of this company...Rusty, the so called company owner saw my post and immediately called me. When I answered he started screaming and yelling at me so loud and intensely that I wasn't sure what to do or think. He was screaming so loud and the only way to describe it would be unhinged. He said I was to blame for not allowing time for unexpected things to come up...I'm not making this up. I told him that I wanted my deposit back and between the yelling and screaming I just hung up on him...he called right back, and again, and again. I at least had the frame of mind to record a good portion of this exchange. Driving to get the uhaul i filed a dispute with my credit card company for the $900. If you have read this far...all I can do is warn you and others about this guy. I only wish I had read Yelp reviews before hand. Not only is Rusty unhinged, I feel he is a ticking time bomb. You have been warned. A few days later I guess the credit card company contacted him, not sure but I got a text from him saying he couldn't pay me back all at once but asked to please let him pay $100 per week until it was paid. I have the recording. I have the text. And on an unrelated note, I found out he is an ex prisoner who is in a step up program. That would not be a big deal at all, if he was truly trying to better himself. And hire did I know the COVID claim was bullshit? While he was screaming at me on the phone I could tell he was driving and even heard the beeping of a truck in reverse... I called him out on it and just like any habitual liar would do he said yeah I had to go to the store... so much for not spreading COVID! I got the uhaul and contacted local guys moving and even though they couldn't do a full move on the spur of the moment, the owner sent one of his guys over to help us load and pack the truck and unload at the new place...all in under three hours! read more

Totally incompetent and a borderline criminal operation (and I say that as an attorney!). Movers were completely inept and unprepared for my law firm's move. They damaged several pieces of furniture and ruined dozens of panels of my new office floor, and they did not even move all the furniture over two days. What we were promised after a company rep did a walkthrough was absolutely nothing like what we got when the movers came -- it was like they were on different planets. I left voicemails trying to express these concerns but no one called me back. When I tried to speak to the owner, Rusty, about this fiasco afterward, he demanded immediate full payment and threatened, if I paid anything less than the full amount, to come out to "settle it" by coming out to see me with the movers, who he bragged had criminal records. STAY AWAY!!! I REPEAT, STAY AWAY! This place is a total scam. Ghosted us on moving day. After already giving a $900 deposit. No call , no show. We were waiting for 3 movers to be at our house at 9am. When we called, " Carrie" she wasn't sure where they were. Had absolutely No answers to our questions. Got ahold of Rusty and this guy is unhinged. He's running a huge scam and it needs to be shut down. YELP NEEDS TO CHANGE THEIR SOFTWARE. You have to give at least one star or you can't post. The guys he hired did a fantastic job. They were here 1 hour. The guy who answers the phone is great very professional. However the owner charges you way more then he quotes. They ask you what you have the tell you it's about a quarter of a truck 200. The owner then decides to triple the price when the truck is loaded . It started shouting at me about his cost, his payroll, his truck insurance at that point he has you over a barell. Be ready to get ripped off. read more

I had a small move from a storage unit to a home. I called as they had great reviews and local. I spoke to Rusty directly and reserved 2 movers for today with a fee. I mentioned I was flexible on time/date as this was going to be a quick and short move. The movers came early, were very nice and very fast and done well under 2 hours. I expected to pay for 2 hours minus the fee I gave to Rusty. To my surprise, the fee was just that. A fee to book their movers even though I dealt with Rusty, the owner himself on the phone and not through a service. Then I was informed there is a 3 hour minimum. Again that surprised me as I specifically knew this would be a quick move and in no way would have taken 3 hours. He also told my mother some unkind things about me and was aggressive and yelled on the phone when i said he did NOT mention the 3 hour minimum or that the fee wouldn't be applied toward the move. I quickly gave him my credit card info and hung up as I did not like his tone or attitude. I won't be using him again nor his service. The movers were nice though and very fast as I mentioned which is why I am giving it a 2 stars. Just be aware of the fee and 3 hour minimum for all moves even if it's a short 1 mile move from a storage unit to a house. I thought about contesting some of the $492 charge for an hour and half move but decided not to. I told my retired and on an income mom that I would pay for it as I was the one that found this company. One day before my planned office move I called to ask about what would be provided related to the move given that I had simply been told "We'll pack up everything." I have never hired a moving service before and there were clearly many misunderstandings revealed (I was expected to pack up everything except large furniture) when I talked with Rusty - the owner, who was the person I originally spoke with and contracted with - and when I asked "Is there anything else I should expect that won't be provided?" (again, this is the first time I've ever used movers and just wanted to be prepared) and he responded with, "You can find someone else to do your move." and hung up on me. I called back the office and talked with Alex and tried to explain what I thought was the misunderstanding and it was a very simple and pleasant exchange and Alex said that they would fulfill the job. Our refrigerator went out and we had to have another one quickly. The store was going to take a week, so I called Drifa's. They met us at the store, delivered to our home, and hauled away the old refrigerator. It turned out to be a tough move, but the guys were really nice and did a great job. Rusty and Drifta's moving was easy to work with, they showed up on time and were fast and efficient. The movers were nice guys and did a great job. I'll definitely recommend and use again. I also like supporting local, independent business so it's a bonus! They have some BIG trucks for large moves.
