As retirees, we want to travel a bit more. I was satisfied that I could find a room in a motel that…read morewas rated well among customers. I thought it was pretty nice that, on the day before the stay, they sent me several text messages about how to get to our room: directions from the main desk, the combinations to the digital locks and how to use them, and they even sent me a picture of the room's door. The outside of the hotel looked clean and might have had a recent remodel. There was no professional landscaping, but I didn't expect to see any, either. It became clear immediately that those text messages were worth saving. There is a digital combination lock for the main door and the same combination for the door leading up to our room. There was no one at the main desk, which I thought was odd. Our room's door was missing the trim around it (I was told via text that the digital lock is new, so I assume that the whole door is new, too?). Our room was located on the second floor - the only room on the second floor. The only way to get there was to navigate the narrow hallway then climb some stairs that were slightly steeper than standard. Because we are retirees and my wife's knees have been surgically replaced, the steepness made it difficult to get to our room. When I got to the top of the stairs I could see that there is a non-zero probability of accidentally falling down the stairs as there is no door or gate at the top. Nevertheless, the room looked spacious and cozy. The bedroom was comfortable and well set up. It was roomy, had comfy chairs, a day beef in addition to the king bed, a coffee bar, and a TV which we didn't use. It looks like they spent most of their remodeling money on the bathroom. It's very nice and big (see pics). The bedroom's and hallway's carpeted areas don't feel like they're well-padded. Our picture window looks out over a lake with loads of lilypads and a deck. We got lucky and saw three deer (a doe and two fawns). If you don't like interacting with humans, you don't have to. We did online booking, got our keys (digital combinations) via text message, and left without seeing anyone. I wonder how long it would have taken to get assistance if we needed it. In sum, we would not stay at this motel in the future. For younger persons with good knees, this would be a good choice.

This unique, small motel in the heart of beautiful Minocqua WI was a pure delight. Lovely, albeit…read moresmall room that was beautifully updated was perfect for our three night stay. The obviously well insulated rooms were quiet and with the thick, updated keypad entry to our room was great. No key necessary. Quick and easy check in and out was also really nice. Its location in walking distance to the entire town was fantastic. We will definitely return to this fantastic deal of a motel in a vacation wonderland. Best of luck to the staff @ Aqua Aire Inn!

First off, it a beautiful resort, with swimming pools , arcade, free continental breakfast, and…read morenewly remodeled rooms. Everything is clean and visually like a hunting lodge. I like that north woods look a lot. There's a child's pool, a hot water pool, and an indoor/outdoor pool. So much fun! The arcade has every type of game for teens and adults as well as little car rides for kids. I use a walker and had a handicap room with a walk in shower which was fantastic. I wish they had provided a bathtub chair, but it was still a great shower. The beds are very comfortable ( but if you have bad knees they are a little high off the floor. I found myself throwing myself into the bed). The Cost was as expected and the staff is nice but there's usually only one person on the front desk, which means you may have to wait awhile for them. All in all we keep coming back because it just a great easy place to stay in Minocqua.

WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN. Stayed there for two days. Dog…read morehair all over on the first floor. First there was a large sewage smell in the hallway. I was nice enough to ignore. The water is slimy. The lifeguards don't speak any English. This facility does NOT care about who they hire. Second day, the whole POOL smelled like PROPANE GAS. The girl lifeguard brought up how her eyes burn so bad from the gas. MULTIPLE families came up to me asking if their lungs burn and smell this propane gas. I brought it up kindly to the front desk, Roxanne, she threw her hands up in the air, and said the lifeguards are supposed to take care of it. SHE TRIED CALLING THE LIFEGUARDS ON THE WALKY TALKY, nobody answered 4x! She was pissed that I even brought it up. The worst part? The lifeguard manager, some dude with a braid, comes up and tells me it's from the outside grills propane... then he said it's from the Canadian smoke. June last year, the same issue happened to another family, propane gas smell in the pool. HE PROCEEDS TO TELL ME, what do you want me to do?! Shut the whole pool down?!? And he walks AWAY mid conversation. He couldn't even tell me what the smell was, never tested anything, it was so TOXIC. The woman bartender manager listened and she said "just don't swim if it bothers you" HELLO?!? I paid for 2 days to stay here. Wouldn't you be upset if you paid two days and can't swim?! Mind you, there's a photo of the lifeguard manager guy with a braid, posted a year ago, sleeping on the job. They really don't care about this facility. There's no complimentary water at breakfast (she told me to use the sink) and it's all donuts and horrible choices. I would never stay here again. Worst service and I'll be contacting BBB. My poor kids lungs, ruined our night, and I wasn't offered any resolution. I feel super sick from that pool and will be taking higher action. This place needs to be shut down. Oh, and the water slides shredded both of my kids bathing suits into pieces. Both bottoms have huge holes from lack of proper remodeling. I only posted this review because of the toxic gas, the way I was treated. Never ever ever again.

We were driving through Minocqua on our way to the Apostle Islands and decided to spend the…read moreday/night at AmericInn Minocqua. We had our dog with us, so we needed dog-friendly lodging. We stayed at the AmericInn because of the convenience to the downtown area and they accept dogs in certain rooms. The reason for the one-star rating is: our hotel room carpet was stained, damp feeling, and smelled bad. Our room #116 smelled like Fritos and dirty feet. The carpet throughout the entire hotel, especially on the stairs in the common areas, was dirt colored. We wore our shoes the entire time we were in our room, unless we were in the bed or showering. The whirlpool in our room was unsatisfactory. It looked old and creepy and was in the living room area. The reason we wanted the hotel room with the whirlpool is because we thought the bathroom would be larger, but it was so small that when my husband wanted to close the door to use the bathroom, he had to step into the tub to close the door. The view from our room was the parking lot. When I woke up, I had multiple bites on my legs and waist area. Lastly, the receptionist at the front desk was very friendly and personable, and that was the only good part about my overall experience.

There was old food still in the garbage cans. I went to the front desk and they said they only clean upon request, so I requested they clean. They said "every day?" like it was unusual to expect my garbage taken out or towels replaced. I said, okay, every other day is fine. They cleaned only once in the five nights and six days I was there. I had to take my own garbage out, so my room didn't stink of old food. I won't stay here again, and probably never at another AmericInn, either.
