Do not take your vehicle to this place. I took my truck here to replace the U-Joints and the drive shaft ended up falling off on the highway. I ended up paying $400 to tow the truck back and get it repaired (the repair itself was free since it was under warranty). I took the truck to another shop to check the warranty work and the drive shaft was installed incorrectly a second time! The end caps didn't fit into the drive shaft and it was an improper size such that the drive shaft was in danger of falling off for a second time. This level of negligence is a clear safety issue to me and other drivers on the road. This company will not touch my vehicle again (even for free warranty items). read more

The manager of the building was extremely sexist towards my fiance. He couldn't fathom a woman needing car repair without a huge smile on her face for him, as if she would have planned to have car issues just to see him. He told her, "You have such a serious face." and "It's your face, it's just so serious." I don't know about y'all but no one goes to an auto repair shop with a smile. When my fiance went to call me to talk about our options and our best course of action he assumed she did not have a way to pay, "Your man should have given you the credit card." So if you love to be generalized and treated like trash this guy and his business is perfect for you. We went there two months ago for an oil change and they neglected to tells us we have rusting below our frame that could cause serious issues. We then went there two weeks ago when our check engine light came on. They told us it would, "a lot of money," just to figure out the issue. Strangely after running the diagnostic and looking at the car that time, there was no $150 diagnostic charge. Now here we are needing $2,000 worth of repairs, the car will not run and the rusting is going to cause more massive issues. It would have been handy to know that information two months ago so we could plan for our next vehicle. After this news we were informed that it would be a waste of money to get the car fix because we would need more work done. So taking this "professional's" word for it, we need to look into getting a new car and junking this one. He informed us if no repaired would be done he would charge us for looking at the car because his employees only get paid by the repairs they do... So if no one comes in, his employees don't get paid? A business like this has no business being open. I have come here for some quick fixes like brakes and oil changes but that's done. I hope the manager googles, "how to respect women" and learns to treat potential long-term clients with respect. Go to this business at your own risk. I was on a covid relief mission with the army National guard for the last 9 months. My MOS is 91B wheeled vehicle mechanic. I let my little brother drive my car around while I was gone. He took it into this shop for a state inspection and they said the brake master cylinder was leaking and needed to be replaced before it could pass so he approved the work. They replaced the master cylinder with a 3rd party part yet charged me as much as the OEM part from the dealership. I'm sure they pocketed the difference. Since drivers auto performed the work car has been braking on it's own without any pedal input. In the last week this has happened 5 times while driving on the freeway and I've had to pull over and let the brakes completely cool down so they can release and I can limp the car back home. I've called this location twice now and have been told both times that the general manager was busy and will call me back. It's been a week and a half since the first time I've called and I have yet to receive a call. I ended up taking the car to the Mazda dealership and paid their techs to diagnose the issue. They said the brake controller was never calibrated after the new master cylinder was installed. They also said the brake booster pushrod may never have been calibrated correctly and the aftermarket master cylinder may be incompatible. Drivers auto says their repairs come with a 5 year warranty but good luck getting them to pick up the phone let alone honor their warranty. They charged me $661 for the master cylinder replacement. Now I'm going to have to pay the dealership $703 to replace it again with an OEM master cylinder. Before you consider drivers auto repair please ask yourself do you feel comfortable putting your life in danger with faulty brakes and having to pay to have your repair completely redone by people who won't honor their warranty or even pick up the phone? A shop that charges you OEM prices for aftermarket parts? All this to save $40 over going to they dealership to get the job done right the first time around. Value yourself. Value your life. Value your time. All of these are worth more than the $40 extra it costs to get the job done right. read more

I took my car there for a state inspection, naive enough I didn't Google them just took the car out of conscience since they are near my flat. The inspection was done and the guy gave me an invoice with a problem that needs to be fixed soon, the problem was that there were only 2mm left on my rear rotors and those will have to be changed as soon as possible and it is a safety hazard which is obvious thing, they quoted me around 700usd for the job. I declined the proposed fix and I took their word and started a quest finding a cheaper place to change my rear rotors I ended up paying 381usd for the job but the surprise was that the old rotors were perfectly fine and had 25mm on them, no one told me I had to measure them myself. So I wasted changing the brake rotors for nothing and learned the hard way not to trust them or believe what they say. Terrible. I called as soon as they opened and asked if they towed, as my car wouldn't start. They said yes, and they'd send the tow truck as soon as I got off the phone. I literally live right next door to this place. Literally. An hour passes, and I hear nothing. Another hour passes, nothing. Since I live right next door, I decided to walk up there and talk to them in person. I spoke to the same guy in person that I spoke to on the phone. He seemed a little irritated that only he knew how to call for the tow truck, as he made the comment, "I'm the only one around here who can do anything." I didn't say anything because that wasn't my business. Anyways, I watched the guy make the call and read off my information to a tow truck driver. I was assured they would be there within 2 hours, so I went home and waited. And waited. And waited. Nothing. I ended up calling another shop and they sent a truck in less than 30 mins. I went to this place to get a simple oil change and I hope they did that at least. When I returned to pay they said the following: My brake lines needed to be flushed for $99.95 because it was black and would not last long. I will agree that they needed to be flushed in the next 6 months but they acted like my car was undrivable which is not true. Air filter needed to be replaced for $60. I told them it literally takes longer to pick the part up off the shelf then it does to install it in the car and you can buy a premium filter from O'Reilly's for $20. Which was free with the 1 year warranty. The mechanic personally came to the front and said my serpentine belt was about to snap. This is a flat out lie. CROOKS. They quoted my boyfriend $600 for a "quick" fix on his A/C and talked about how he conveniently had that piece in the shop. The owner later said that the issue was larger than expected and doubled the quote to $1200. The unit still didn't work the following day and the mechanic tried to get $1200 more and was upset when demanded to repair the unit with what was agreed on. STAY AWAY. At first they were nice and courteous but once we found out what the problem was we decided we would get some of the warranty items taken car of by another shop. I later found out after I got my second opinion with another technician down the road that everything that they described was Incorrect and not needed. They told me that the air filter and the mass airflow sensor needed to be replaced. They were going to charge me $960 for these items plus labor!!!!! I am so glad my gut told me this was ridiculous. I left and took it down the street to another shop and they TOLD ME AND SHOWED ME that both items were in perfectly great condition. My air filter wasn't even dirty in the slightest!!!! I cannot believe they were going to rip me off almost $1,000 for nothing. Sickening. I will never trust this place again. Unfortunately for Driver's Auto Repair, I really have experienced better. He triggered the alarm and had no idea how to turn it off. He did not know I was the owner, so I approached him, and showed him how. What that told me is that the staff up do not communicate in a disciplined fashion. They probably just gave the mechanic the keys and told him to plug away...no instructions. 3. I have had incidents where I tell them to fix something, and then they don't communicate internally, and then I have to remind them. It seems like the place is staffed by late 20s, maybe early 30s...random dudes...that don't seem to have a real boss. Great guys to have a beer with, really nice overall, but lacking that precision, organization, communication, and overall professionalism. One guy, really helpful, was constantly texting me about repair options on the car, texting me about this, and that with the vehicle. It was ok...but this is a business. Call and leave a succinct voicemail. Then, when I call you, I better speak to a knowledgeable front desk person. They don't even have that...it seems like they rotate some of the more polished mechanics through the front desk... Also, this place gives me the vibe as a business with a lot of employee turnover. Conclusions: Knowing what I know, for serious work, I would not take my vehicle here. They're like a fast food chain for auto repairs and I can definitely see them botch something complicated. Unfortunately, the traffic is so God-awful in this area that if a mechanic is within walking distance of home, that simplifies logistics to the point that it is not worth it to drive somewhere else, get a ride etc... The intersection of Eldridge and Briar Forest is a nightmare! Avoid it like the plague after 3:00 PM or in the morning. I have no idea where to start and I want to refrain from making this too lengthy of a review but please get a second opinion before getting any work done here. Even better, don't come here at all. I could not get my key out of the ignition and after looking something up on youtube, my husband was able to do so as a short term fix. We took it to Driver's Auto Repair since it is within 5 mins from us and they quoted us approximately $900 to change the switch assembly. This included a $300 part and the rest in labor. We paid it because of the urgency of fixing the problem although we knew it was overpriced. While they boast about a 5-yr warranty, I had to go back the next day because they forgot to reconnect the seat warmers. So essentially you pay alot for "quality" service but then have to go back to have their oversights fixed. Problem #1 We were also told that the circuit assemblies of the brake lights melted and needed to be replaced. They quoted about $350 for parts and labor. I asked them about the parts cost because online I could find the part at 1/4 of what they were quoting. I was rudely lectured by Kevin about quality, etc. Needless to say, I didn't move forward with the job and came to get a second opinion. The mechanic I am now at tells me that it was as if they (@Driver's Auto Repair) tried to remove the bulbs but couldn't so this wonderful story of the circuits needing to be replaced was created. This mechanic is only charging the cost to replace the bulbs and not this fictitious assembly s!*t. Problem #2 I hate when people are taken advantage of and/or lied to. However, on Tuesday April 17, 2018 around 5:30 after my oil change was completed I walk to my car start it started my gps and proceeded to put my car in drive. My car did not move. I asked the Manager at this time to see what happened to my car because I cannot put the car in drive. He said he had to call one of his mechanics back to check it out. The guy says oh your shift cable is broken. I asked him to show me because at the time I had no idea what it was that he was referring to. Him as well as the manager said no. They told me I can leave my car their and get a shuttle home and they will repair it the next day he claimed that the labor to fix it will be $260.00 plus however much the part would cost plus taxes and fees. This would be about a $300.00 repair. I declined and called my insurance provider to have my car towed to my home. When my Tow Truck Driver arrived he got my information and moved my car over into the gas station parking lot. He asked me what was the issue to document it. I told if he looked under the hood to verify and then he SHOWED ME THE ISSSUE. Your mechanics unwired what my personal mechanic had wired together just to get me to pay them for a service that would only cost me $30 to get fixed. It is one thing when there is a true issue with a car and the price is fair to what needs to be fixed, but to take advantage of a person who seem to come off as naïve or gullible is wrong and something needs to be done about it. If something is altered on a vehicle it is not you alls mechanics position to move or unwire anything that does not have something to do with the services that is being required. I came for ONLY an oil change which is on the opposite side of my car. There was no reason for them to go and search for a problem just to get money from me. The part that is missing is a Shift linkage brushing that piece only cost me $14.42 at Walmart and I was able to replace it myself by hand right above my car. No strenuous work, I didn't have to jack the car up, my hands didn't even get dirty, and then I rewired it as well. With that being said the services I received from this location was extremely unethical and I will take this as far as needed if you all cannot resolve the issues. Saw the previous reviews and was shocked! I also noticed that the reviews are 6 months and older & they're now under new management. I've been here twice so far, end of December, and again for an inspection in March and the service was awesome! Very friendly staff! The 1st time I took my car in, I felt the salesman was totally honest and presented me with options for my repairs. Since I live around the corner, they offered shuttle service to drop me off & pick up at home when the car was ready. I wouldn't give them any stars but on July 2, 2014 I brought my car to drivers and I was lied to and they damaged brand new parts and didn't do ASE work. It was shade tree mechanic work. Charged me 800$ and over 500$ was labor. When I looked at his work and took it to a different mechanic his said it was less than 30mins worth of work and the will have to be redone. I tried to go in and make it right but the tech was rude and management let him talk to me any kind of way. Don't go there they are very rude and they WILL rip you off and severely over charge. Went there for an oil change, they brought out this little tray with fluids in it to show me how bad my car was and told me I needed to have them all flushed out and stuff. When I told them I wasn't interested they asked me to "call my Dad so they could talk to him". Needless to say, as a female, this was extremely offensive. I was so happy with the service here! I really know nothing about cars and my car started clonking and smoking. I brought it into this shop to get it looked at around 4pm on a Friday. The manager was nice enough to communicate with me and my dad (who is in Denver) so that we knew what was going on. He was very kind and considerate while he explained things to me.
