After my learners permit lapsed again, I was able to take the test online after verifying my identity and once I passed the test, was given an appointment at this location. With the appointment, you check in with a bar code and bring your form already filled out to save time. After checking into the DMV, you are called to take your photo and then you wait. and wait. and wait. 1 hour later after you scanned your barcode, you will be called to your window to take your eye exam and pay your license fee. Then be on your way. Unbeknownst to me, if you bring your passport with you to get your license, you can get a REAL ID for travel. Noted for next time. Aside from the wait time - the staff were not rude and those I interacted with were quite helpful and patient.

My ticket number was RG107, and I was called at approximately 2:04 PM and sent to Counter #10. I was there to get a replacement plate for my motorcycle/scooter, something that should have been a relatively straightforward transaction since I had my previous registration and insurance documentation with me. Unfortunately, the employee who assisted me was extremely slow and appeared unfamiliar with the process. He was typing extremely slowly, key by key, and repeatedly questioned my insurance information. Even though I provided the insurance documentation, I was asked to contact my insurance company approximately five times to make changes. This was incredibly frustrating, especially because I had originally registered this same motorcycle using the same insurance policy without any problems. What should have taken around 25-30 minutes ended up taking most of my day. That meant losing valuable time and potentially money over a process that should have been handled much more efficiently. I was also disappointed by the overall atmosphere around the counter. While customers were waiting, I observed employees talking among themselves rather than appearing focused on moving customers through the process. As a customer, it was very frustrating to feel like our time wasn't being respected. I am posting this review because I sincerely hope a supervisor or branch manager sees it and investigates what happened. I am not expecting employees to rush through important paperwork, but I do expect them to understand the procedures they are responsible for and to treat customers professionally and respectfully. I strongly believe the employee who assisted me needs additional training, particularly regarding motorcycle registration/plate replacement procedures and insurance requirements. Customers should not have to spend an entire day at the DMV because an employee is unable to efficiently process a relatively simple transaction. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works to improve both employee training and customer service at this location.

While I was already on my way, I was suddenly told the order was being refunded because they only allow in-store pickup. This makes no sense because the system sent me a pickup confirmation and I was instructed to come in. The lack of communication wasted my time and caused unnecessary inconvenience. Customers should not be told an order is ready and then have it canceled while they are on the way.

I've had a couple of bad experiences down this way in Sheepshead Bay with cops that were thinking they're above their station, and they're not very honest and they always think they're right and sometimes I suspect they know that they're not right but still act as though they're right and it's just a broken system and the word finest is misplaced and that's the nicest I can be about it.
