I was down to "ONE FINAL PAYMENT" of $168.00 before I could call the car mine. DriveTime decided to repo my car then had the nerve to ask $5,000 in order for me to not only get my car back but also to then own my car. These rats actually tried to extort me 5K to get a car that had only one payment left of $168.00! I was 18 then and naive about the value of a car. Dealer sold a car that had 100,000 miles for 26,500 with 27% interest. Please don't buy anything from drivetime. If I could leave negative stars I would. I helped my son buy a car from Drivetime only to end up getting screwed. Within the first 2 weeks it spent 2 weeks in 2 different shops to be worked on, finally fixed we thought. Now a month and a half later we discovered it had a blown head gasket all along and to make matters worse we're assuming they put gasket seal in the radiator to fix the problem. With all that said now the Kia dealership says it needs a whole engine replacement, so a 7k motor in a car worth 5k but he still owes 17k, good job drivetime way to take advantage of people that are already disadvantaged. Drivetime Car Sales on 821 E Division St in Arlington, Texas is by far the most dishonest and untrustworthy used car business I have ever dealt with. I am 78 years old, and have dealt with many across America. I expect to pay far more for a used vehicle than it is worth, but I expect to receive a vehicle in decent working order. I bought a 2016 Jeep Compass from them recently. As soon as the 30 day warranty had expired problems began. A bad battery, a bad generator, and bad throttle control arm suddenly appeared. $2,940 in repairs suddenly appeared. I went to the company and was sent away; I went to their insurance company (Silver Rock) two times and was left on hold so long I had to hang up to take care of children. They pull every trick available to cheat the customer. Every one should stay away from Drivetime. I give them minus 5 stars. read more

I purchased a 2015 Hyundai Sante Fe late August/early September 2023. The head unit went out in 3 weeks. Then the engine started having issues. Long story short, there's about $9000 worth of work that needs to be done and Silver Rock is a waste of money. My car was given to me with less than 2 cups of VERY black oil in it. Now the car is barely drivable and Silver Rock is giving me the runaround. I will never purchase another vehicle from Drive Time again. They do not check the vehicles like they're suppose to. I am now paying for a car that is probably going to stop working at any moment. I've been told that this dealership plus Carvana are the worst when it comes to the vehicles they sale and their warranties they sell they don't pay out. It's a waste of money. I've tried contacting corporate but they have done nothing. I'm paying for a car that I basically can only drive periodically because it ends up in the shop. Purchased car last year from them, had 2 sets of keys however 1 was actually not for my car. They told me they would cover the replacement when I got another set and decided not to do it. Employee no longer employed so they couldn't verify story even though they had notes in the file, I waited too long as I guess there is a time limit which was never relayed to me..... hell I guess I should have kept the other key which I gave them back so another customer wouldn't have the same issue as me. Customer service is poor with the customer relations department. I will never purchase from them again and will be fully vocal on how they just take your $$$ and don't honor what they stated. I bought a car from Drivetime in Arlington Tx. i left a good 5 star review on google because it was easy and quick and the customer service was cool. But after about 5 months havent recieved my plates or any registration paperwork on my car I had to keep calling the dealership to ask about it. I was told they would look into it. nobody would call me back. I had to keep calling. Finally I was told the car never had a state inspection done. in order for it to pass I had to put about 1000.00 of work to get it to pass. they did the inspection. Another 3-4 months I still had no plates. It turned out they sold me a car with a bad title that cant be registered. I had to bring the car back and they put me in another car.Everthing was supposed to be the same but somehow my payments are about 100.00 a month more and that 17000 car is about 23000. i cant trade it in or refinance it because I owe more then its worth. So Ill keep paying 600 a month I guess and let them keep getting paid read more

My wife purchased a 2007 Cadillac SRX from Drivetime in Texas, after paying off the car after 5 years, we go to trade it off for a newer car, and find out from the dealer that the car had a bonded title, which makes the car virtually worthless. Its sad that they have to sell worthless cars to vulnerable people in the hopes that a payment or two will be missed and then repossess the car and try again to screw someone. I was given an "Experian Carfax" which stated there was never any damage to this vehicle. The day I bought the vehicle there was a bit of an overcast so it was hard to get a real clear perspective of the off white paint job. After signing the dotted line I got the car home and noticed there was a slight difference in color to the bumper and the rest of the vehicle. I decided to run my own carfax and found out the vehicle had been in MULTIPLE incidents which required claims to be filled one being vandalism and another being a collision. We called the corporate office and of course there is nothing they can do; however the Experian report they provided stopped at 2020 and the collision occurred in March 2021! Do your research before you buy. Get the VIN and do your own report. Save yourself a headache because corporate does not care. You are just another payment. I have paid off two vehicle with this company in the past but this will definitely be my LAST investment with them regarding a vehicle. Scamming Liars!!!! The experience with getting into a car was awesome. They had a ton of cars to choose from and I found one I really liked. While test driving the vehicle I noticed that it didn't accelerate like normal, Roddy my sales rep stated that there was a recall on the transmission that a bolt or screw or something was loose. When we got back he showed me the recall notice and it was about the transmission. Needless to say I went forward with the deal and would just take it to the dealer to get the issue fixed. I had the recall fixed but it still accelerates slow and my RPM shoots to 3-4 just at 20 miles a hour. I called DriveTime and spoke with I believe he said it was Ralph, and he had the poorest attitude. I explained to him what happened, what I was told and what I did and what the final results are and he stated that since I drove over the 1500 miles that I would need to pay to get the car looked at. The issue I have with that is that its 30 day or 1500 miles. I haven't had my car for 30 days...it will be in a few days but well in enough time to look at the vehicle and tell me what the issue is being that the RECALL didn't fix the issue like I was explained it would. I trusted this dealer but im feeling like I got shafted. The least they could do is take a look at the vehicle, since Ive discussed the issue several times and let me know what the issue is. I asked for a copy of the inspection report from when they obtain the vehicle and he stated they don't get that information. When asked how do they know if things are fixed or whats wrong with the car he said they don't have a way of knowing they just know that its fixed when they sell it. MINES WAS NOT. I was pleasantly surprised of how easy the process was to buy my car. I have never had an experience like this before and I have bought cars before it was no hassle, no fuss, and no stress. I don't know if I will ever go back to a new car dealership ever again because they haggle with you and promise you the sun, moon, and the stars and don't deliver anything. Along with making you feel like a criminal if your credit is not perfect. DriveTime does not operate that way. My salesman Nick didn't put any pressure on me at all. He gave me a list of SUV's that I qualified for and shock of all shocks he didn't try to get more money out of me than what I had by telling me the deal couldn't be done. That never happens at a new car dealership. I was able to get a nice SUV with a 3 yr warranty. I will definitely recommend DriveTime to my friends they really know how to treat customers.
