I asked around locally and looked on the internet but really wanted to find a company that had some recommendations from a reliable and known to me source. I checked with a local dealership I have used for purchases and service for nearly 20 years. They are known for selling nationally because of their volume with a poplar car around here. They have used Accelerated regularly. I called and asked for the procedure to be explained and was given some information which was a bit optimistic for timing as it turned out. But when we realized the complexity of the move, who is home "here" to send the car, as I can't drive, and who is home "there" to receive the car and they work long hours. Also, shipping from Colorado to the Pacific NW in winter is simply not a good idea. We waited until spring and by that time the sales staff at Accelerated had changed, so I spent time explaining and getting information from another agent. Both I dealt with very polite but clearly I did not even know what questions to ask. In the end, we picked some dates and our only driver here shifted his schedule to be available for a pick up window in a given week. Please know, the pick up and delivery windows are very :fluid" depending on availability of the truck driver transfer company to fit into their routes which change with the regional demand. We did the order, the price was within our financial limit. It ended up being a pickup window in which we waited about 8 days, the delivery window was easier to calculate once they got going so it was received within the 3 day estimate. This was an older car so we were not worried about minor scrapes or dirt. Unless you order a covered transport (too expensive and not necessary for the value of this vehicle) just remember, weather happens. Our driver was excellent, stayed in touch by text and took enough time to sleep and eat, so a safer situation than might be common on some highways across the country. He had a smaller rig and only carried 3 cars at a time which allowed him to get closer to the residential addresses than we had expected from the advance warnings. We had made plans for pick up and delivery in nearby large shopping centers as we had been told, but in the end, the driver did not need them. I suspect that is rare. Another family member has shipped a car that required a pick up and delivery in an adjacent town on each end. In some cases this will be entirely likely as the 6-8 car carriers are huge. All in all, this was a decent experience. I do wish the sales staff was more communicative with novices like me, but I suspect they work more with people who do this regularly. But they should remember, it will be a first time for many.

Sadly, I was validated on my concerns of paying for something sight unseen. I will say here that the actual repair work looks very nice, but there were a few small problems that were very disconcerting. One, my dashboard tire pressure light was on, which due to weather is not that rare, but when I went to air up my tires, it was revealed that the four different tire pressures were: 61, 19, 47, and 38. Seriously? How in earth could that have organically happened? What did they do to my tires? Secondly, my dashboard headlight warning light was on. So I looked around my car and my driver side back light was out. I opened my trunk and saw the inside panel to the back light housing off. What on earth happened there? The damage to my car was on the driver side. What were they doing there? Three, the trunk is filthy, and it needs to be vacuumed. Fourthly, the side view mirror that creates a three week plus extension is a crappy, fun house type of mirror, with a very odd reflection. It is no where near the quality of the factory version, and I was told that it was coming from Hyundai shop in Texas. To be clear, the mirror reflects, and I can see traffic behind/beside me, but it's a very cheap knock off, and that's super frustrating. In the end, the bodywork was great, but the 3 week + extension, the cheap mirror, my weirdly inflated tires, and my oddly broken back light, is all very disturbing. Also, I reached out to Rusty from the Aurora Kaizen with all of these details, and I have not heard anything. That's so unprofessional and shameful. My next step is to contact my insurance company and advise them to take Kaizen off of their preferred auto body shop list. This company used to be Mankhe, which I had the unfortunate need to use a couple of times over the last decade, and never had any issue like this. Kaizen is horrible, and I will never use them again. They were rude on the phone and had attitude when she didn't have all relevant information to the sale she wasn't a part of. After finally getting back to her they mentioned it was sent on Monday and we should have it by the end of the week. After the weekend came and went I was obviously frustrated. I called my contact at Schomp Mini and he mentioned that the check was just mailed on Friday and that is why I haven't received it. I told him to void the check and that I would be coming in personally to pick it up. He said that was fine. I will admit, I did forget to go in Monday and Tuesday but lo and behold my check showed up on that Wednesday almost exactly 1 month later. It is giving skeezy car salesman vibes and I don't think they had ever sent the check until I crashed out.
