Beef and lamb gyro $5.99 - deliciously hot for the price!
    Kim N.

This is a small shop place, quiet and a little warm for 92 degrees weather. There is a bakery shelf, hot food counter, and mini mart selling Mediterranean groceries. Everyone is very sweet, helpful, and friendly. You order at the food counter and pay afterwards at the grocery cashier. The shawarma and gyro orders are made fresh, piping hot. I opted for the beef and lamb gyro while grabbing a small mango drink from the grocery side. The gyro sauce was perfect, along with the sliced beef and lamb. I dare to say this is the best gyro I've had in a long time, especially for the price! After finishing up, they ask you to leave to tray on the table and they'll come by to clean up. On my way out, I grabbed some cooking spices from the grocery side along with a small bag of jasmine rice. I felt the prices were reasonable for groceries and hot food. I am looking forward to my next trip back to try their other hot food such as the lamb shank.

All that goodness comes wrapped up like a present.

Always fresh and always a delight eating there. Definitely stop by and have their chicken shawarma or gyro you won't be sorry. Best gyro I've had in Houston!

    Pistachio baklava

My mentor bought me here many years ago and I still return as an adult. I really love the gyro! Plus the pistachio baklava is amazing! I recently tried to falafel sandwiches & I will say it's probably my favorite now! I also forgot to mention the prices are unbeatable!! Must try and make it your go to spot for a delicious meal!

Thank you so much for bringing back memories. I thought they were gone ever since they closed in Sugarland. Humble couple making high quality authentic Lebanese food! Give them all your business they deserve it!

Getting falafel, shawarma and feta pita bread. Love the fresh dates and baklava too. Perfect for a rainy day in Houston.

This is our go to place for pita, falafel sandwiches and falafel spices, fresh spinach pies, shawarma and more. The pita is amazing. Baked fresh daily, so many choices from thick to thin loaves, plain or covered with feta or Za'atar spices. Supplied so many family restaurants for so many years. Need spices? Great selection of Mediterranean spices from cumin and coriander to black and white sesame seeds. Making falafel? Check out their falafel spices. Grab a large jar of tahini to make a fantastic hummus at home or drizzle on your falafel. Grab a jar of olives, pickles and roasted red peppers to add to salads and sandwiches. Don't feel like cooking? Falafel, shawarma, rice, veggies and salads are available as a takeout for a family meal at home. Grab some baklava, date filled maamouls, or harissa as a sweet ending to a delicious dinner. Nice family owned and operated Middle Eastern grocery store, bakery and restaurant. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the neighborhood.

The food was amazing. The chicken had wonderful flavor and complimented the mix of vegetables and sauces inside the shawarma. The food was made in front of you and the owner was very abiding to any requests. Wholeheartedly recommend this place and I look forward to going again.

Gyro platter - (3/5) meat tasted good, hummus was standard. The tzatziki sauced was rancid. Since we got togo I was able to wash the meat off and then reheat on a skillet. Baklava - (4/5) I liked the moderate amount of honey vs being overly sweet. Service from the older couple was very nice.

My wife and son and I paid our "first" visit to Droubi's last remaining location. The people we met were super helpful and friendly. This place has been in business for over 40 years and after tasting the best spicy chicken shwarma wrap i've ever had, and some amazing baked goods...I can see why they've been around so long. My wife got the meatball plate with 2 sides, we all tried them...really tasty and tender. The only thing we tried that wasn't quite 5 stars was the tabouleh. Definitely get the coconut cookies and the cookie with dates in the middle...you'll thank me later. Now I need to go back and try everything else. This is a bakery, deli and grocery store. They're in the process of enlarging the space allocated for the deli. The lady working at the bakery counter said they used to have 4 locations. We will be back for more goodies.

I had heard great things about the cafe at this new location, and had even tried their former location on Hillcroft a couple years ago as part of TooGoodToGo. While the concept is casual, the restaurant itself is very polished and feels like an upscale cafe. There is plenty of seating indoors as well as a huge patio outdoors. We opted to sit on the patio on a (rare) nice Houston day. The tables were spacious and the patio seating was very comfortable. We ordered the Kofta Kabob and Chicken Kabob specialty platters. These platters come with your choice of two sides - we went for the Fried Cauliflower, Tabouli Salad, Hummus, and Muhammara. The meats were so good and hit the spot. The Kofta Kabob had a complexity of flavor to it; so many spices that blended together really well. I will say that the post-meal burps of these spices were...smellier than usual. The Chicken Kabob was also flavorful and had a nice smokiness to it from the grill. I liked the slight crunch provided by the char along the edges. If I knew how to make chicken like this, it would be my daily meal prep! The Fried Cauliflower had a nice sear to it with lots of flavor. The Tabouli Salad and Hummus were comparable to those I've had at other Mediterranean places. The Muhammara was my favorite of the sides! It is a dip like hummus but also incorporates tomatoes, red bell peppers, and onions, among other spices; there was so much flavor to it and I could snack on this all day. The included pita bread was large, fluffy, and piping hot - perfect for dipping between the two side dips we got. Service was quick and friendly. The employee taking our order behind the counter was friendly and gave us the recommendation for the Muhammara - great rec. When our food was brought out and we had questions on some of the ingredients, the staff was very knowledgeable and knew right away what everything was.

The food is flavorful and seems more authentic as it's family owned and staff is very welcoming, helpful and friendly. We went on Saturday, got two Combo Dinners as you choose two mains and two sides. My husband got chicken and beef kafta with sides of hummus and fried cauliflower and I had beef kabob and beef kafta with sides of baba ganoush and greek salad. Upon delivery to our table (you order at counter) I was pleased to see the generous portion sizes then as we dug in, the flavors were yum! Even though there with many people there, there was plenty of seating and a nice sized patio we should have sat and enjoyed the cool breeze as it's on the East side of the restaurant. I don't think beer/wine or available so it's probably BYOB, didn't ask. The sweets looked really good. Abddallah's will certainly be one of our regular dining spots from now on. We should have tried it sooner!

Takeout and delivery is always good but dine in is amazing everything from bread and hummus to the actual food. We got masakhan, fried chicken, kabsi chicken and lamb chops. Each dish is about $20 and at that price for a whole chicken it's a steal seriously. They have been around for years and are actually amazing if you haven't had food from there it's actually a crying shame. Service is sometimes slow but like I said it's all family. And seeing them all take a break to sit down and eat together is probably one of my favorite parts of my visit last night.

The lamb chops were seasoned to perfection! The rice could've used a little bit more flavor, but when paired with the lamb chops it balanced it out. The bread paired deliciously with their garlic dressing. I wanted to try their mint lemonade, but unfortunately they were out of mint at the time. Overall, this is a great hole in the wall spot. Their food is still affordable compared to what you would pay at a fancy place. The service was nice, and the food was prepared relatively quickly. They also are conveniently located in a plaza so easy free parking. I'm already planning my next visit because they had so many amazing dishes on the menu.
