"Saddle Up for a Great Day," is the motto for this newest addition to the Goleta/Calle Real Shopping Center area. They have several delicious offerings with their Barista Bar, Breakfast Sandwiches, Toasted Dough, Dirty Sodas . . . and am looking forward to making my way through their menu of tasty doughnuts. On my first visit to their new and pristine space I ordered their Vaquero Breakfast Sandwich, and it has everything delicious in it: Egg, Shredded Pork with Chili Verde Salsa, Monterey Jack Cheese, and a tasty dash of hot sauce. Drover's Doughnuts opened up their new Goleta location today, 1/17/26. Arriving a little after opening, There was a moderate line, but no more than 10 minutes to get to the donut case. The place is very clean and modern on the inside, with a couple tables for people to sit down and enjoy their donuts and drinks. The service is quick but friendly here, and my coffee came out within 2 minutes after ordering it, pretty fast for an espresso drink at a busy spot. The Blueberry Fritter uses a mix of dried and fresh blueberry, leaning more on the use of the dry ingredients. I wish it had more prominent blueberry flavor, but the dough was light and perfectly flavored, high quality overall, so it was still a very good donut (just not as fruity as I'd hope). They also had unique donuts in the case like a dark chocolate old-fashioned, champagne, orange creamsicle, and many more, along with traditional flavors. The coffee here is just ok, I'd say Starbucks level; they use a coffee from Groundwork (a speciality coffee roaster) that is a bit too darkly roasted in my opinion, but that is perhaps a personal preference. Overall, Drover's offers a good variety and experience, perhaps the best donut in all of Goleta, beating out Slodoco, Spudnuts, Anna's, and others. Only giving 4 stars because I believe there is still room to grow. It is definitely worth a visit. read more

Pretty good for bougie donuts. I liked that they weren't too sweet. Also tried the breakfast savory donut with egg and sausage. It was pretty good. Coffee was decent. Overall for a quick bite to eat it was solid. read more

The service and food were both terrible. They mixed up all the orders and it took over a half hour to get our food. When we checked in on our order, the attitude was sullen. I ordered a hot latte, it was made iced. When I asked again for hot, they acted like they were doing us a favor. The workers were not nice and had extremely bad attitude. Came here because it was new and wanted to see what they had to offer. The coffee here is strong! Doesn't have a smoky flavor or the coco notes like Starbuck's cold brew but the cold brew was strong and had a neutral flavor. I ordered the sea salt Carmel foam cold brew with no sea salt and the Carmel wasn't strong enough for me ... I personally prefer old towns Irish cold brew. I will say the neutral coffee flavors went well with th donuts and the caffeine was strong for me. The donuts were ok. Just as someone mentioned with the blue berry fritter, not enough blue berry flavor. The glaze was lacking the glaze! The triple berry had the flavor in the frosting and whipped cream in the middle. I liked the triple berry the best. Compared to other places, these donuts are not too sweet. The texture of the doughnuts were not too bad. It wasn't pillowy soft nor super cakey to me but was in the middle. read more

Wonderful, wonderful doughnut!! Taste is more like a cake than a doughnut. they are really scrumptious! Prices are really reasonable! What a wonderful edition to the area to the Calle Real side of Golita! They are Next to Trader Joe's. No sign on the building yet Just in the window. I can't wait to go back!!! read more

The dirty sodas here are the best I've had in the area!! I got a coke with vanilla creamer and cherry and it was divine. My partner also had a blackberry donut and said he really liked it! The cashier was so nice and asked us before we ordered if we had any questions on the menu. The overall ambiance is very trendy and cute! Definitely recommend! read more

Nothing compares to ELLERS DOUGHNUTS. These are overly sweet and the oil used has a after taste that doesn't sit well. I base a shop off their glazed and this one didn't make the mark and was a little dry. The place was clean and service was average. read more

Lovely fresh tasting donuts. I usually don't like cake donuts but their blueberry lemon cake donut was perfectly moist not at all dry. The breakfast sandwiches as well were fabulous. I was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. Will return. read more

First visit. Staff is fine but the place lacks any kind of comfort. Mostly empty storefront with perhaps six tables in the entire place. Choose from about 6-8 different "Dessert" type donuts serving very weak coffee. Needs lot's of improvement. No more for me but I do hope they make it. read more
