The interior is super cute and great service, but felt like the Iced vanilla latte and Hojicha was too watery for my liking.

DUNE on Storke Rd. In Goleta is a super laid-back coffee shop with a beachy vibe. I ordered a cold brew and a drip coffee. The drip coffee is not that good but the cold brew was a lot better. The service is super friendly and the barista were happy to switch out the drip coffee for an iced tea. I had to go to the bathroom while I was there. The bathroom wasn't very clean but the service was good that's what matters.

After our tacos and a walk we felt like GOOD coffee and GOOD pastries... this place came up as the only one with good ratings. Now we know why... ordinary brew is normally bitter to our taste but this Santa Rosa dark roast is smooth and full of nice flavor notes. Those scones and muffin were equally delicious. Probably the dark chocolate one as the most flavorful but very crumbly and not resistant to my clumsy behavior. Great service but I guess we were lucky to walk in when things are not busy as a huge line formed after our arrival. One machine, one batista, probably not enough bandwidth. Place looks like a typical modern coffee joint but thankfully without the Starbucks deodorizer that makes your outfit smell like coffee too. Recommended when you're in the area or traveling through.

On a day trip up the coast and found this great coffee shop in Goleta. Its right off the highway so it's perfect for a quick pitstop if you don't want the Santa Barbra traffic ;) They are also a roaster and have several Dune coffee shops in the Santa Barbra area. The shop was fairly busy but the baristas were hustling and the line went quick. We had a Pumpkin Spice Latte & Double Espresso and both were very good. Especially the latte which was creamy & spicy. Since they are located near university most of the workers & customers were students and there are spaces for studying including outside on the front patio. Perfect for enjoying the weather on a nice day :) They are located on the corner of a shopping center so there is plenty of clean, safe parking. It's a great hybrid of a local coffee shop hangout and highway pitstop.

Lattes and a biscuit with what tastes like homemade jam. All great!!

Coffee was so smooth! Perfection. The biscuit was light and flakey and jam was fruity but not too sweet.

I've gone to Dune's multiple times and it never disappoints. I've gotten a chance to try their chai latte, vanilla latte, and mocha, which are all pretty good choices. I also really like their ham and cheese croissant!! The service is nice and quick too. Such a cute study spot with free wifi for any students looking for a new study atmosphere to expose urself to!

drinks are solid, staff seems to be increasingly unwelcoming, $9 for this piece of toast with avocado and quartered cherry tomato is WILD. Not a lot of outlets for studying. would come back for a quick coffee though.

Like many parts of Santa Barbara, the buildings are steeped in history and reflect the Spanish heritage of the city. I walked in my dog (they're dog friendly!) and went straight to look for the menu. My dog immediately found the bike pump and the snacks they leave for dogs. Service is super nice! They all seem very jovial and cheerful - making it a really nice local vibe. It was great to see the community in the coffee shop. Sadly, the coffee leaves something to be desired. Their menu is pretty standard - you got your flat whites, cappuccinos, lattes - and nothing special or standout from the menu. That's fine - you can still be a standout coffee shop with a standard menu. I ordered two vanilla lattes - one hot, and the other iced with oat milk. Unfortunately, I think my order was misheard as my iced oat latte was missing the vanilla. - Vanilla Latte: Fine. My partner typically orders this everywhere and he said it was fine, but nothing standout. 3/5 - Iced Oat Latte: Already mentioned it was missing the vanilla I asked for, so I'll discuss the other elements. They use a darker roast - thus, making it more susceptible to a bitter taste. That, and I believe an over-extraction or a longer pull made the coffee quite bitter. They also served it in the same cup as the hot coffee. My main issue with this is that I'm a slower coffee drinker, and thus my cup began disintegrating as time passed. Their cups aren't constructed to uphold iced coffee well. 2/5 It was such a prime location nearby the USPS and is sat in a great historic area. Handlebars has great staff, who clearly enjoy their jobs, and have a great community surrounding it. It's sad that their coffee is subpar. Strongly recommend you order your coffee hot, to drink in-store, or just avoid.
