Been going here for the past year in a half when I was pregnant with my son up until now 6 months…read morepostpartum. I genuinely love this office. They've made me feel so comfortable & are so easy when it comes to scheduling. I've seen a few different drs and I can't say anything I disliked about any of them. Highly recommend this place.

I'm only writing the review because I feel like during your pregnancy you are deserving of quality…read morecare and proper bedside manner. If you want an office that will actually care about you and treat you like an individual and not be seen by robots, do NOT go here. We recently moved to the east valley and needed a new OB as I have a high risk pregnancy due to my previous medical history. I explained to them on the phone if this was someone their office could handle and I needed to see an OB not a nurse or a midwife due to the complications of my pregnancy. I was scheduled for an ultrasound and "doctor's " visit. The front desk seemed more concerned about their nails and hair than doing their job. I had to redo the same paperwork 3 times because the girl upfront kept deleting it. The ultrasound tech was rude and just seemed annoyed we were there. She has zero personality. While the medical assistant was extremely nice; she did not seem to know what was going on; her nails were longer than her fingers which don't seem professional in a medical setting or even sanitary & she was chewing gum with her mouth open as she spoke to us twirling her hair and ignoring most of what I was saying. I was seen not by a doctor but a nurse; she 100% ignored my questions and concerns. I was then told thy were not going to do anything but have me come back because " we don't even know if you have a viable pregnancy " I was 6 days earlier than we thought and instead of being professional she was rude and heartless. This causes so much unnecessary stress. We got TWO second options that same week and they BOTH agreed the due date would be moved and baby was healthy and growing and there was NO reason to say what she said especially since I am still nursing and there is zero way to know the exact date of conception. When I told her what she said " no you HAVE to be this far along and you're just not matching that " It causes so much unnecessary stress but the way the entire appointment was handled was unprofessional and has zero human compassion. The only reason that I even stopped to wright this review was because the front desk called me today to verify that I canceled my apt. When I said yes I decided to go with an office with better bedside manner her response was " oh yeah that TOTALLY makes sense " and laughed and hung up.

I really wanted to be writing a good review. After seeing the reviews from previous years, I was…read morehoping that something had changed since there hasn't been a review for a couple years. I was in the ER Monday 9/19 with severe abdominal pain and was told via CT scan that my IUD was out of place and needed to be removed. I called Maricopa Sunlife Tuesday 9/20 in the morning and they were able to get me in right away (great start) In the appointment the doctor said he was able to feel the strings but would need an ultrasound to confirm position. They sent me straight to the ultrasound that morning. During the scan the tech showed me how the IUD was supposed to be sitting and said that one of the arms is in fact out of place but that the doctor would have to confirm. After the scan I called Sunlife again and told them I was done and asked when I would be getting the results. I was assured that I would be getting a call by closing at 5pm. I Didnt hear from anyone that day so I called Wednesday 9/21 morning and was told that they would have the doctor review it. Didnt get a call. I called again around lunch to check in and they said that the doctor was called into surgery and would look at the scan if he had time... I called again around 4:30pm to see if he was out of surgery and if he had a moment to take a look and I was told that he hadn't looked and that they would get back to me in the morning. Thursday 9/22 I called around 9am to see what the update was as it had now been almost 48 hours since the scan and they told me that the doctor would not be in because he gets a day off after surgery... At this point I am furious. I was told I would have answers by the end of the day Tuesday and it was Thursday night when I called again and was told someone would have answers tomorrow (9/23). I was called this morning 9/23 around 9am and the gal on the phone started the conversation by scolding me about the amount of times I had called the office in the past few days and that they allot the doctor 24-48 hours to receive the scans and then another 24 to review. I told her that I was never told that and that I was told on Tuesday that I would have a call by the end of the day, therefore setting that expectation. She apologized and said that the doctor did look over the scan and said the IUD was not in the right place and would need to be removed with an ultrasound machine because it could cause damage coming out. I asked if it was embedded and she said she didn't know. Why didn't the doctor call me with the results??? I took some time to calm down and called again around 10am and asked to speak to the manager of the office. She was very nice and actually got the doctor to give me some answers. He said that the IUD is not embedded but I would have to wait 7-10 days for insurance to approve the removal... absolutely not. I am in pain and just want it out and I'm not about to wait that long just for a 10 minute long procedure. After all of this, I called a certified nurse midwife (9/23) and told her everything. She asked me to come in immediately and took it out. I paid $50 and was on my way WITHOUT using an ultrasound and WITHOUT waiting 7-10 days in pain. This whole process has been TERRIBLE and handled so poorly from every single person I've talked to. I will never walk into another Sunlife ever again.

She often walked into appointments without even greeting me, her first words were usually just, "Any problems?" Her demeanor was scripted, robotic, and completely impersonal. The office itself was disorganized. My records were "lost" multiple times due to fax issues, and nothing was ever followed up on properly. The medical assistant barely interacted, only taking vitals before leaving the room, looking visibly unhappy to even be there like the rest of the staff. Dr. Rosario repeated the same lines and hand gestures at every appointment as if I were on an assembly line, and I am convinced she never actually reviewed my prior labs or growth scans as she missed important things that should have been addressed. She wears an N95 mask throughout every appointment making her hard to understand and even more impersonal. When I asked about delayed cord clamping, she told me she only does 30 seconds and claimed there was "no evidence" for longer, which is completely outdated and dismissive of current research. This is not the level of care anyone deserves, especially in such a vulnerable stage of pregnancy. If you want a doctor who actually listens, reviews your history, and treats you like a human being, look elsewhere. Luckily I was able to transfer care before birth.

Despite this, she smiled, nodded, and scheduled me for a tubal ligation without my knowledge or consent, effectively planning a surgery I had explicitly refused multiple times. I even asked the front desk to remind the doctor to submit paperwork for a bilateral salpingectomy, and the nurse confirmed that Dr. Rosario went ahead and tried to get insurance clearance for a tubal ligation.. the procedure I had repeatedly said I did not want and did not consent to. So no, this was not an accident on her part. During my appointment, Dr. Rosario falsely claimed that removing my tubes does not reduce ovarian cancer risk, which is medically incorrect. The procedure she scheduled (tubal ligation) carries higher chances of future pregnancy and provides less medical benefit, while creating unnecessary risks. At least two staff members were aware my requests were ignored and told me in hushed tones to seek care elsewhere. This clinic demonstrates blatant disregard for patient consent, medical accuracy, and safety. Get everything in writing, double-check your procedure, and strongly consider going elsewhere. I have already reported her to the Arizona Medical Board and contacted the Attorney General concerning her blatant violations.

It's been difficult to build a relationship with anyone or feel like I'm receiving personalized care. Another frustration has been trying to get help through the patient portal. Whenever I've reached out with concerns or questions, I was often told to go to the ER instead of receiving guidance from the office. It makes me wonder what the purpose of contacting my OB is if the response is almost always to go to the hospital. As a patient, I expected more support and communication from the team. I was also disappointed by the limited use of ultrasounds during my pregnancy. I still don't have an estimate of my baby's weight because each visit mainly consisted of measuring my belly with a tape measure. I understand that fundal height measurements are a standard part of prenatal care, but I expected more information about my baby's growth, especially when many other expecting mothers receive additional ultrasounds when medically appropriate. I often left appointments with more questions than answers. Overall, I never felt like my care was personalized or that the providers took the time to truly get to know me as a patient. Pregnancy is a time when reassurance, communication, and trust are incredibly important, and unfortunately, I didn't feel I received that level of care.

However, I did encounter one very rude phlebotomist (the heavy-set Caucasian woman who worked in the small office near the bathrooms). Every single time she took my labs. Don't work in healthcare if you have a negative attitude. What truly broke my trust was what happened with my sister, who I referred here because I believed she would be well cared for. She suffered a miscarriage, and instead of providing compassionate and thorough care, the office repeatedly gave her medication to pass the pregnancy without success. Her concerns and fears were consistently dismissed with reassurances that "everything would be fine." Shockingly, they never performed an ultrasound to confirm that the pregnancy tissue had passed. This went on for months. Ultimately, my sister ended up in the ER, where it was discovered that there was still retained tissue, and that the baby had been inside her for three months. I am horrified that her life was put at such serious risk of infection and complications due to the negligence of this office. To make matters worse, one of the doctors even told my sister that "ultrasounds were too expensive" when she asked for confirmation that the tissue was gone. Because she is non- confrontational, she didn't push back, but the ER nurses were shocked at how poorly this situation was handled. The ER reviewed her medical notes and confirmed how severely she had been neglected. My sister ended up having to get a D&C at the ER where they pulled out A LOT of tissue. I am disappointed. For that reason, I will not be coming back. If I were ever to experience a complicated pregnancy or miscarriage, I know this office would not take my concerns seriously or provide the care needed. It is truly unfortunate, but I can no longer trust this place, and now I have to find care elsewhere.
