I went there stressed he had a UTI then you leave him covered in urine and also some STOOL, My poor baby looked terrible and they left him covered in his pee all scared and didn't even attempt to clean him other than putting a pee pad in his crate which did nothing to clean him otherr then soaking up the pee left in his crate. they also had to take his collar off and i wasn't going to put it on him until the next day to then realize they broke his collar taking it off him and didn't even tell me that...I love dr Kinney, she is the only good provider there but whoever treated my Milo that day did not care for him like you would your own pet, I'm extremely dissapointed with how he was cared for, i do not recommend any other vet then dr Kinney if you need to see someone there.

Background After just getting our six week old puppy, he became sick a few days later. I was worried because he was throwing up and had diarrhea and wouldn't eat or drink all night. So the next morning I went to an animal hospital in Albany and the vet there wanted to run $600-800 worth of tests and wanted me to leave him there overnight. As a new dog owner, I had no idea if the costs were reasonable and was a little upset the vet didn't offer to go step by step, rather than just run all the tests at once. I thought "yikes!" and quickly ran off to get a second opinion. I called Delmar Animal Hospital and explained my situation and the ladies at the front desk were really helpful. They suggested I bring the x-rays and any documentation from the previous vet visit so they wouldn't have to repeat the exams (saving me money.) When I met with Marie, I felt right at home. I described our puppy's symptoms and answered her questions, she looked at his x-rays, and then Marie explained everything in detail to me. What could possibly be going on, what steps she planned to take, *why she planned to take each step*, and an estimate of how much the procedures would cost each step of the way. My first impression, she seemed very caring and loving and genuinely concerned for my puppy's well being, so I felt much better leaving him in her care. One other important note... when we spoke to the first vet, in Albany, about our interest in feeding Otis a vegetarian diet, the vet tech strongly tried to convince me that "dogs are carnivores and are supposed to eat meat" and he didn't recommend we make our dog vegetarian. Marie, on the other hand, has an open mind and although she does not know a lot about this area of interest (refreshing that someone is willing to admit that), suggested places to go to learn more and is willing to look into vegetarian options with us when we decide to switch Otis over to a different diet.

Instead, the experience was heartbreaking. We waited more than 20 minutes after arriving while our dog--who had dementia and was always extremely anxious at the vet--paced the room in obvious distress. When the veterinarian came in, it was clear she had not reviewed his chart. She asked why we were putting him down, which was shocking given the purpose of our appointment. After giving him the sedative, she said she would return with a "doorbell" so we could call her if we needed anything. She never brought it. Our dog continued pacing for about 15 minutes before he slowly stumbled and collapsed. We were left alone to watch this happen while we could hear staff outside the room talking and laughing. The veterinarian didn't return for several more minutes to administer the final injection. After he passed away, he was left lying on the towel we had brought for him, his hindquarters soiled. Because he was being cremated by the practice, we expected he would be treated with dignity before we left. Instead, we were escorted out while he remained on the floor. I understand that veterinary practices can be busy, but euthanasia is one of the most important and compassionate services they provide. Families remember those final moments forever. Sadly, our dog's final experience was one of anxiety, waiting, and feeling forgotten. I hope this practice reviews its euthanasia procedures so no other family has to experience what we did.

This the reason for my call to see if you have services for my pet and would be inappropriate facility his diagnostic needs. She was abrupt and rude. It's fine if you don't have a certified exotic veterinarian, but you don't be snappy and dismissive! I called another facility that also couldn't help me with my pet, but she was kind and patient and still very helpful to try to find something for . We know that their health and well-being are the top priority at MAH. Dr. Rice takes as much time as we need to examine our pups, answer our questions, and provide thorough and easy-to-understand assessments, guidance, and suggestions to us. The clinical and support staff here are just as great...and believe me, we put them through their paces. They're not the closest. Their not the fanciest. But they are the best!

I knew it was time to euthanize him as he had been dealing with a nasal sinus mass for several months. That night he started sneezing and bleeding from the nose uncontrollably. Everyone at the hospital was extremely understanding and sympathetic; they put me in a seperate room immediately and were able to see him without delay. When Dr. Harris quickly diagnosed Lilly as being critical as shown by bloodwork, she referred her to Latham Upstate Veterinary services for emergency admittance and overnight care. Dr. Harris sent her labs and Xrays there before we arrived. Lilly did not survive but I have some comfort in knowing that everything possible was done for her. I credit Dr Harris for recognizing how ill Lilly was when another vet had not. I even received a condolence call from Dr. Harris after Lilly passed. I would chose Dr. Harris at Cornerstone Veterinary Services as a preferred veterinarian for any pet and highly recommend them

The male veternarian could have played on my wishy washy self and have xrays and the whole nine yards. Nope, they said if it persisted to come back but otherwise he was fine. I've never had an issue with the waiting time or the expertise. Keep in mind I've never had a serious illness with my pets. Reading the other reviews I feel quite sad that they cannot always be so proffesional. However all of my experiences have been good ones.

Absolutely horrific place and here's why I finally moved my animals out----…read more 1) 2 misdiagnosis on my dog's skin condition (and by two of the vets there) 2) very laid back attentiveness to my dog's collapsing trachea condition until finally she choked one night and they felt it necessary to finally start treating 3) 1 incorrectly written prescription ( and by which I mean wrong directions, missing strength, and product that doesn't exist int he form that the doc wrote for) 4)Not aggressive enough care on my cat as far as diabetic related conditions and overly aggressive insulin treatment which led to my cat having a diabetic stroke which led to her having to be put down 5) got a new rescue puppy and the two vets that saw him couldn't give me a straight answer as to how many more de-worming treatments he needed 6) SEVERAL and I mean SEVERAL incorrectly dispensed heart worm and flea medications that had to be brought back to have exchanged for correct product/animal/size of animal/age of animal (and here's the excuse I always get----'it was on the wrong section' always says the blond tech at the desk.....here's a solution----read the product information instead of assuming it's in the right place!) I've even got a current bottle of medication labeled up for the wrong puppy. Luckily I know who gets what. 7)they still can't figure out that the cat has been deceased even though we told them several times (always blaming it on the computer) 8) and did I mention you have to wait 20 minutes at the desk like a moron before your bill is ready................................. Here are the positives about this place..Dr. Linendoll who I believe is the owner of the practice really is a fabulous vet and the times we saw her she was spot on with everything, but in the last few years she's owned the practice, I can count on one hand how many times I've actually gotten to see her. So needless to say either she's not available or not there enough to see her only which would keep me there. Also, Marlene at the desk is quite good and very nice and typically gets everything right, but it's just not enough to keep me there with the rest of the subpar healthcare my pets receive and when their lives depend on these people, I had to make the right decision and move them out of there.
