We were welcomed right away, given great rooms and they were clean and clean comfortable. The hotel looks to be in great shape and in a great Location. Lots of dining choices and conveniences all around. One suggestion : can you update the pillows with a couple firm with the softs would be a great combo. Just a suggestion. Stayed in this lovely hotel a total of 6 nights I think. The place is super clean and the staff is helpful and welcoming. The rooms themselves are above average with great beds and linens, in-room fridges and all the things you'd expect. Again, very clean, very tidy. There's also a buffet breakfast and dinner that are available. Both were better than I would have expected. Biscuits and gravy, sausages, eggs, pancakes...all the good breakfast items. The dinners included taco night, bbq, pasta, and some others I'm struggling to remember. All the food was great and it was really convenient to be able to get those meals without leaving the hotel. Additionally there's a soda fountain machine and popcorn available in the lobby. Overall a pretty solid experience at a well run hotel. Would definitely stay here again. read more

This Hotel is very nice with clean, well appointed comfortable rooms. Very good breakfast with many choices For hot ands cold foods. They also provide a free evening meal with two free alcohol drinks if you want them. My only problem with this hotel was their lack of blankets. There were no extras in the room and when I called to ask for one they said they were out. It happened to be 8 degrees at night which is unusual for southern Illinois but does happen more than you think. Each room should have an extras blanket in the closet as most hotels do. We stayed 2 nights and were not able to get blankets either night. We turned up the heat, but the constant coming on and off of the window heater/air conditioner was annoying. Drury Inn should invest in extra blankets for every room. read more

This is a top notch hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and 5:30 kickoff are delicious. They reward you for not asking for daily housekeeping this a great deal for us. The beds are very comfortable and the room is spacious. The employees told me management genuinely cares about them, they are paid a fair wage, and have an excellent retirement plan. SAFE, FRIENDLY, COURTEOUS! We stopped to rest on our road trip and I am so happy my boyfriend picked out this wonderful hotel! We were greeted promptly by the front desk clerk at all times. All staff were wearing masks and very kind! PERKS: * The hotel offers a reception for free beer and wine and hors d'oeuvres from about 5:30-7pm, but we arrived later than that so missed it. Darn. * The breakfast was amazing - there was an employee serving custom to-order meals (behind a plastic divider, even)-- fresh homemade biscuits, gravy, breakfast potatoes, sausage, oatmeal, an assortment of fresh juices (orange, apple, cranberry), complimentary soft drinks, individually packaged cereals (lucky charms and Raisin Bran), homemade muffins, yogurt, and of course coffee. * Our room was extremely clean to environmental standards considering we're in a pandemic, and the TV remote was even in plastic packaging! Very nice place. We stayed twice through the first week of June. Travel was from Florida to Minnesota and back, stopping in Marion both ways. Both visits were excellent. Very nice rooms, very clean, plenty of electrical outlets, AC worked well, breakfast was outstanding. Everyone was very polite and helpful. I saw a minor confrontation at the front desk with a not so polite customer. The receptionist at the front desk maintained an absolute professional attitude in trying to resolve the customer's issue. Every employee we spoke to was this way, polite, and as helpful as they could be. I think the above was just a case where a customer wanted something outside of the staff's capability, and "I'm sorry sir" was not good enough for him. I highly recommend a stay here. I would do so again if ever in the area. This is one of four stops we made and by far the best. I would go out of my way to stay here than risk staying at another hotel. The others we stayed at, we actually left one with in two hours because it was so bad. When you find a place that's nice, it's worth a little extra drive if needed to stay there again. Kudos's to all the staff for making our two stays excellent. read more

Location was super convenient right off the interstate and tons of food options around. As a Mom traveling with two kids, my first priority was feeling safe which I definitely did here. The room was clean and comfy. The pool and hot tub were great. Delicious dinner buffet with lots of options- perfect for picky kids- drink card for a few free adult beverages in the evening, and great breakfast in the morning! When you're in the middle of "the long haul" and need to crash for the night, it's comforting to know your hotel will be clean and comfortable. That's why we target a Drury Inn when we can. The hot breakfast is a boon and saves us a chunk of change versus buying breakfast elsewhere as we leave the area. And not just a waffle maker - scrambled eggs, sausage patties, biscuits, gravy and all the cold items you'd want as well (yogurt, bagels, cereal, pastries). The family can fill up and be good for hours on the road. The rooms are always clean and the staff are super friendly - I'm sure they are trained to greet everyone with a bright, cheery "good morning" or "good evening" when they see you in the halls. My only beef with this location were the pillows. They look like they have shape, but crunch down to nothing. My bad for not traveling with my own pillow. The bed was a little more firm than I desire, but you can't always get what you want with hotels. I'd stay here again, so no worries. The location in Marion, IL is great! Look in any direction and there's just about everything you need. Fast food, nice restaurants, shopping. For one exit, it's loaded! read more

I like this hotel because the beds are comfortable and it has good breakfast, but the past two times I've stayed here there's been horrible noise. Some of it seems to be echoing from the highway but there's some other noise that sounds like a garbage truck outside but nothing's there. I'm not sure what it is. I paid extra this time for a top floor room thinking it would be quieter but it's almost worse. I'm not sure if it's noisy A/C units on the roof or noise from the elevator or what but it's pretty awful. Never noticed it on previous stays, only the last two times on the left side of the hotel. Also this time there appears to be a puddle of pee in front of the toilet, so that's gross...not sure if I will book here again after two noisy stays and now a room that's not as clean as it should be. A little disappointed considering it was nearly $150 for one night. Pricey for the area. read more

We were headed to Florida and hoping to make it another hour but the rain started coming down pretty hard so we decided to call it a night. I used Priceline to checkout prices and options for the area that met our families need, did an Express Deal option and Drury Inn of Marion became our destination. Having reserved through the PL app and I was a little concerned that our family of 5 would be put in a room with a king size bed and we would have to have creative uncomfortable sleeping arrangements because the front desk staff could be overheard telling people calling in that they were out of suites and only had king bed rooms left. That ended up not being our outcome at all. The front desk person asked how many we had in our family and said give me a minute to see what I could do. She was able to work some magic and get us in a room with two beds which were heavenly after a long drive. The hotel and rooms were very clean, staff were all friendly even while multitasking. The free breakfast in the morning was full of options for the whole family. There was good parking and entrance options. I made use of the gym to get a run in in the morning and although it was small the room had a sufficient amount of equipment. The treadmill I used probably was in need of a tune-up and cleaning but it served it's purpose. Overall happy with our experience here and maybe we will try staying on our way back home next week. read more

I have always enjoyed staying at Drury Inns because of their "happy hour" with two free alcoholic drinks and light dinner fare. Anyone that has stayed at a Drury will know what they are walking into. They do allow pets so pet allergies beware. The lobby is very cool with the glass elevator and chandelier. The rooms are pretty standard. The staff is also very friendly. This location is very popular with older travelers (snow birds, quilt museum goers) which does make it a awkward at night being in my twenties. Overall I would recommend staying here. read more

We had a great experience on a busy Friday night and Saturday. This hotel is very close to I57 and surrounded by numerous restaurants and stores. They serve a complementary breakfast and dinner (including alcohol). Paige (the manager?) is a superstar making everyone feel welcome. She accommodated our changing requirements without hesitation. Unfortunately there are not paved sidewalks to the surrounding establishments, and the roadways are a bit confusing. read more

5 stars for the Drury Inn! As shocking as that sentence may be, I had the most incredible experience during my recent stay in southern Illinois. The accommodations themselves are not anything spectacular, but the customer service is out of this world! For the very cheap rates that staying in southern Illinois will get you, I was blown away with everything your stay includes. Not only does the price include your accommodations, but it includes breakfast AND a snack bar with a complimentary alcoholic beverage! They say that a way to a man's heart is food; well the way to an awesome yelp review for this woman is by free food and drinks! The spread at the snack bar is enough to fill you for dinner combined with the drink you wanted for happy hour. The food is not half bad either! The manager is at every meal, greeting guests and making sure everyone's stay is satisfactory. I have to say that many hotels in and around Chicago could learn a few things from this hotel in rural southern Illinois! read more

You know what I love? A hotel that thinks of everything. Little things, you know. Like, a small power strip mounted on the nightstand for your chargers. A single-cup-serving coffee maker in your room, complete with Starbucks coffee. A popcorn maker in the lobby with free popcorn. A nice hot breakfast. The Drury rocks for these things. I have stayed here a few times, and the only downside I could think of was slightly outdated rooms. Well wouldn't you know. They've remodeled. The rooms are now very modern, clean, and very comfortable. Then there's the breakfast and happy hour buffets. Stop in and get 3 free drinks in the afternoon, and enjoy food like pastas, jumbo hot dogs, nachos, and more. Breakfast is eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, and good selections of cereals. So you get all these extras, and a great price to boot. The weekday and weekend rates are very affordable. Love the Drury. Could you start building more please? read more

This is a great hotel with polite compassionate people. They adjusted their routine to allow social distancing and still provided an evening meal but bagged it for eating in the room, so I didn't need to go out and find a restaurant. The baked potato was perfect! Guests appeared to be spread out over the 5-6 floors. I did not hear anyone else on the fifth floor while I was there. Everything was exceptionally clean. The room was very comfortable. Druzy Inn is my "go to" place whenever I travel. I will go out of my way to stay with them. read more

Great place to stay! Even though it was undergoing some remodeling, I wouldn't have known it except from a few things in the lobby. We were greeted pleasantly, given a little treat bag, and our room was ready. It was quite clean, modern furnishings, and I loved all the little things: soap and shampoo dispensers rather than tiny bottles, free wifi, plenty of places to plug in electronics; power strip on nightstand, and one on the desk, too. Room was nice and modern with a hidden mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave in the dresser. It was very spacious. Rooms towards the front of the hotel with the atrium are a smidge smaller, so if you need floor space, ask for rooms towards the back. The free dinner and cocktails at night and hot breakfast in the morning were very welcomed. Popcorn and soda in the evening is a nice touch, too. Parking was free, the hotel was quiet, and we enjoyed our stay. Everyone was so nice, too! Only negative: our room was on the 5th floor overlooking the back of the Bob Evans parking lot and their garbage truck arrives about 3 a.m.. Certainly nothing the Drury folks could change. We didn't use the pool or other amenities, so I cannot comment. Best value for the money without compromising on amenities and cleanliness! Wow, we were impressed with the quality of the hotel! The staff was top notch in customer service and we got quite a kick out of being ask not to streak down the halls. It wasn't on our agenda for the night anyway (guess it is on someone's though) ha! The appearance of lobby, common areas, and room was clean and up to date. Night lady that checked me in was excellent! The room was on the 5th floor, but it was very clean and well kept. The water pressure in the shower was outstanding. I tried the hot tub in the morning before leaving and it was great. It opens at 9:00 AM. Breakfast was okay, but the staff need attitude adjustments! The breakfast staff are very rude and started taking the breakfast down BEFORE the closing time of 9:30 AM during the week. Also I was never asked if I was finished or needed anything else, so this needs improvement!!! read more

We arrived at 11pm. I had made a reservation online through a 3rd party, but my reservation had been cancelled by the 3rd party by the time I had arrived due to an issue with the credit card. The young woman at the check in desk let me know what had happened and then assured me they could make a new reservation. It ended up being a lower rate! She was very professional and helpful. The next morning at breakfast, every staff person we encountered was very friendly and helpful. I would make a point of staying here again when my travels bring me through this area! Location is near a shopping center with several restaurants nearby, but why spend the money? 5:30 to 7pm there are three free drinks per person and hot food in the lobby. The food selection is limited, but good. Tortilla chips with salsa. Baked potatoes. Hot dogs. Refried beans. Beer, wine and mixed drinks. Familiies were there feeding four and five kids for free. Free breakfast too. Room with king bed was smaller than some hotels I've stayed in on this trip, but not uncomfortably so. There was room for a full sized lounge chair, desk, fridge and microwave. Large flat screen TV.. Clean. Plenty of parking. Incredably fast checkin at the desk, even for a walk-in like me. Real high-speed Internet, not the feeble speeds I've found at many of the other places I've stayed. This is my first stay at a Drury Inn, if they're all like this one, I may become a regular. read more

I came to Marion for a Half Marathon, so the place I stayed was not that much of a choice for me. But with my wife along, it had to meet a certain standard (She will not stay anywhere with a number in the name). With that said, I am pleasantly surprised with Drury, and this property in particular. When you add the amenities, you actually get value for your money. Drury promotes that nothing is extra (there is even a card in the room with the amenities listed with $0.00 by each). The price is more than I would expect at this level, but as I stated, the amenities added the required value. The WiFi is phenomenal. I was able to get consistent 3Mb/sec download and upload. This is not the usual for included WiFi. The evening meal, also included, consisted of a nacho bar, baked potatoes, hot dogs, salad and beverages (including alcoholic). While the quality of the food was cafeteria, this was a nice touch. The breakfast was of the same quality as the previous evening's dinner. Nothing fancy, but good enough. The room itself was enough size for two, and the bed had a decent comfort level. The only negative was a small section of disrepair on the wall behind the chair. All staff was pleasant, friendly, and willing. I recommend this property if you are staying in Marion. read more

This was a great experience staying at this hotel. The staff was polite and helpful. The room was clean and smelled fresh (not musty like other hotels). One of the best amenities is the free food in the evening and breakfast. They don't just put out a pan of lousy bar food either, it was very good and a lot of it! The rate was well worth it considering the savings incurred with not having to eat out twice. If you choose to, there are a lot of great choices very close. I would definitely look to stay here again when passing thru the area. read more
