I'm honestly really frustrated with my experience. My appointment was at 5pm and I arrived a little early in case I could get in sooner. They were running behind, which was totally fine, so I waited. This was my first time coming here and I was excited to try it. When I got to the chair around 5:10, I clearly asked for a blowout with big volume, pin-up curls using a round brush and rollers. I only ended up with about three rollers in my hair, nothing was pinned up, and my hair kept getting stuck in the round brush. My hair ended up very flat, which was the opposite of what I asked for. She then started curling random pieces with an iron, which confused me because I specifically asked for a blowout style. The whole time it felt like there was confusion about what service I wanted, even though I explained it clearly. I left feeling disappointed and like I didn't receive the service I asked for, especially for my first visit. I wish I could of got a complete refund because It was nothing I had asked for and honestly I could of done a better job myself with just a blow dryer and brush bc it looked like no one touched my hair. read more

Drybar is NEVER on time anymore. Not sure why they even bother to book an appointment time. I typically wait at least 20 minutes past the scheduled time. If I can be on time with a busy schedule why can't they? read more

I love going and getting my hair taken care of at the dry bar! The staff is always fun and I feel so pampered! A hair wash with a nice deep massage always gets me started off feeling so relaxed- it's good to help promote hair growth as well! I was so excited that Drybar was opening a new location so close to home for me! I took advantage of the pre-opening Barfly membership so I stopped by for my first appointment a couple days after opening. This location is a lot bigger than their original in Frontenac it was nice not having people walk right behind you all the time when you're getting your hair done. The girl at the front desk was friendly and helpful during check in/check out. My stylist was fantastic I've had her before at their original location. She listened to exactly what I wanted and DELIVERED! My bombshell curls were amazing. They also have their own parking lot across the street on Forsyth which is awesome not having to fight for Clayton street parking. Definitely recommend this new Drybar!!! read more

You would think they would have their A team on for Friday night. Maybe the worst blowout ever. First the hair wash was a slight tickle with a splash of water. Then I asked for the southern comfort with LOTS of volume. I knew it would be bad from the start. Blow drying hair downward with no upstrokes or trying to lift the hair off the root to give it a hint of volume she at least added two small Velcro rollers in the front that left me with a weird little kink/wave and a head full of flat hair. Not feeling super confident for a dinner out. I want to go home and just redo it myself. read more

BIG fan of Drybar but this was the Worst. Blowout. Ever. Stylist was thoughtless from start to finish. Left me sitting in my chair, I had to get up to find a mirror only to find my hair extremely disappointing. Before I could say anything to her she was walking out the front door. I called and made an appointment for 8 AM for photo shoot I had for head shots. At the time I asked if I would be finished by nine and they said no problem. When I arrived, they told me they were running behind because the appointment before me had been booked incorrectly or she had extensions or something, and wouldn't be able to start me until 820 or 830. I asked if I'd still be able to leave by nine and they said they actually didn't think so. The staff was really friendly, but it was very poor service. They offered me a dry style, which I decided to go with so I wouldn't be late. they said my hair would still look great. I didn't feel that it came out very well for the photos. It was not the same as a blowout, and it wasn't happy with my hair and the photos. there were lots of flyaways and frizzies that you just don't get when you do a proper blowout. Also at the end, I asked if I could get half off or a discount for my next blowout and they gave me a free add-on for my next blow out. Which I really didn't care about. I think the issue was they onlyschedule 45 minutes for their blowouts. The other place I go in St. Louis schedules an hour so I haven't had this problem there. But I've had this happened several times with this company in a different location where I go in at a specific time and they can't get me started for 20 or 30 minutes.. Again the staff was great, but I was very disappointed and I won't go back because of their appointment structure. read more

My lady was clearly inexperienced, didn't deliver what she said she will and worst part, she freaking wiped her snot on her nose with her hand and then touched my hair YUCK!!!!! This review is for my girls with thick textured hair like myself. I am a mixed race woman with thick curly hair. It can be difficult to find a stylist who can straighten my hair without excessive heat, resulting in a strong smell of being "burnt". I was very specific about my hair type when I called to make this appointment and I was assured that they had Stylist who knew how to work on textured hair. When I arrived for my appointment, I met Alli and after a conversation I felt comfortable that she could handle my hair and give me what I was looking for making me feel very comfortable. The shop itself is bright and clean and the splashes of yellow from the styling tools just made it feel refreshing. I was surprised by the fact so many hairdryers were being used, but it wasn't a smoky air. I took a photo as a reference of what I was looking for as the end result, and Alli did asked me to leave the photo open so she could reference it as she styled my hair and she did not disappoint. After a shampoo and a gloss treatment, my hair felt and smelled amazing. Her blow dry skills were excellent leaving me with the light and fluffy hair that I was looking for. She then took the curler and gave me a head full of curls, giving me the bouncy flowy head of hair I so desired. I was amazed at the outcome, completely satisfied with the style, service and the price. The entire experience was wonderful, and I highly recommend Alli and the Drybar in Clayton. I failed to take a photo as I was in a rush to get home, but trust and believe I will definitely be back. read more

I love Drybar Frontenac and their Clayton location is just as amazing! All of the staff is so talented, and I always leave extremely satisfied. They are always busy (and occasionally run into backup on the weekends) because they are just ensuring each client is having the best experience and leaving happy! If you have longer hair or a tight schedule-- just plan ahead, let them know, and I promise they will make it work for you! Drybar has helped me many, many times in a bind. The employees are so sweet and considerate. There is no better pampering experience than a Drybar blowout! My blowouts last for days, smell so good, and guarantee compliments. My absolute fav blowout bar in STL! I used to go to Blown Away, but I prefer the Drybar experience, ambiance, and services by far!!!!!!! My son's wedding was this past weekend. I called 3 months ago to book the day and what I wanted (an updo). Told them I would be booking a trial with same stylist a few weeks before as a test run. Booked that with the stylist they said they had as my stylist for wedding. She did a wonderful job. We talked about what she would tweak the actual day. We took pictures (thank goodness). I show up for wedding day appointment to find out that my stylist is on vacation! They said it was no where in reservation notes. I showed pictures to stylist they gave me. She DID NOT do the same thing. I was stressed the whole time I was in the chair. When finished I did not have time for her to redo. Unfortunately a family member paid for mine before my session was complete. I let them know how unhappy I was and I wanted a refund for my family member. They apologized profusely but said they did not have authority to do refund but PROMISED that someone from their "management team" would reach out. Not so far...NOT the experience you want for such a special event. Especially aggravating since I had paid for a trial to get it all right!! read more

I have been to Drybar before at another location and had a great experience. I wanted to try this new location because it was closer to home. I made an appointment a week ago by calling in. I told the girl on the phone to book me for 130 or 2. She said both were open so I told her 2. I showed up today to only find out my appointment was actually booked at 230. I told the girls at the counter that there was a mistake and my appointment is booked at 2. They told me they couldn't get me in until at least 230. I told them that wouldn't work because I have to be back in time for makeup and I have a family photoshoot tonight. One of the girls was sympathetic while the other one, I believe maybe a manager, told me it must be an IT issue which didn't make sense to me because I called in to make the appointment. I did not book it online or on the app. She said if I can prove that the appointment was supposed to be at 2, that she would make it work. I couldn't, because I didn't have a confirmation nor did I remember the girl that I talked to. I wish I did. She then offers dry styling but that wouldn't work either because I haven't washed my hair in a bit because I knew I had my appointment today. I just thought it was unfair that they were quick to blame it on me even though I know I scheduled it for 2 because I plan everything out. I just wish I would've called back to confirm it myself before the actual appointment or if the salon set some sort of call before service to confirm them self. I told one of the girls that I will need to cancel the appointment and rush home to do my hair myself now. She said I can download the app and book next time, but I should be able to call and not have to worry about this issue. Due to this incident, I will not be back. read more

Unfortunately, this was NOT a good experience. This was my first time at Dry Bar. While I was 10 minutes early, I didn't get called until 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment. The girl doing my hair was nice, and asked if I was ok with using product to which I responded yes. She washed my hair and after that proceeded to comb it out for what felt like 45 minutes, barely using any product. It was as if she had never picked up a brush before. At this point, I could tell we were running very behind and at no point did she seem like she knew what she was doing. As she dried my hair, continuing to not use any product, the whole process was slow - at this point it had taken an hour and a half....to brush and dry my hair!!! I had to ask her if we could just leave my hair at that, not doing any curl, thinking the blow-out would be enough. The process and final result was nothing like I expected. My hair was very frizzy, and while she did do an actual blow-out, nothing held. In my opinion, she did not do a good job, even with just the blow-out, maybe she was new, I don't know, but definitely not worth the money spent. Do NOT recommend this place at all! read more
