This was my first experience at the Dry Bar. They greeted me and offered a mimosa. I had the mango flavor yum. Great start to my day and the friendly staff was warm and welcoming. I was there to have my hair done for a wedding with a partial pull up. They have several styles to chose from which are all the name of cocktails - so cute. I ad a wash and blow out. We discussed the options and I showed her pics of what I wanted. They did a great job. I brought hairpins to use and she gave me extra bobby-pins to use if needed. It's a convenient location downtown with meter street parking out front. It looks like they offer monthly packages. This was a treat and will definitely return. read more

Came to this location for a blowout for my sister's reception. The blowout was good, however have to remove a star due to not being offered a beverage. My sister and mom were offered mimosas and my other sister and I were not offered anything. Staff seemed a bit aloof. read more

It took forever!! My appointment was at 3:45PM, and I got shampooed at 4:24, and seated for my blowout at 4:30PM. I wasn't told about a wait when I checked in, but should've know better when there were 5 people sitting in the waiting area. It was totally unacceptable to not discount/comp my services , APOLOGIZE, or just be honest about how late they were running. I would appreciate some type of refund or even an apology at the minimum. And to top it off my blowout was rushed and was just okay. I realize that they were understaffed and busy with multiple events in town over the weekend, but you must be straightforward to clients who are also on a timeline and become late due to your services. read more

I had a very disappointing experience here, and when I provided feedback directly to mgmt - per the follow up email asking for it - their response, which took several days, was basically that I should've told them sooner so they could correct. They clearly weren't listening because they already went way over time and I had to leave. No refund, no comp visit offered. Very bad first experience at this location. Here is what I write: Had a horrible first experience with DryBar on Mas Ave (Indianapolis) today. I have a big gala I'm attending in NYC tomorrow night, and don't arrive early enough to get a blow out there. I checked the website ahead of time to see how long the standard blowout/style would take and it said approx 45 min - so I budgeted an hour. I arrived right on time, and had to leave at the hour mark in order to pick up my 6 year old on time. 55 min had gone by and she wasn't even done blowdrying my hair. When I asked for the ETA she said about 20 more min. I explained it'd already almost been an hour and I had to leave. She hurried up and finished the dry, and about 10 min later had added a few curls and hairspray. None of it is still left - the same night - and I haven't even brushed it out yet. Not only did I miss 90 min of work - and I'm swamped - wasted $70, and was late to pickup my daughter, I could've done a better job myself. Extremely disappointed and now don't have good hair for my big event. The stylist was very kind and apologized - said she was new and was still working on her timing. That said, if you're going to match someone with a new person you should flag in advance to book more than 45 min. In fact, I wish I weren't handed off to someone inexperienced for something that was important to me. read more

I love the concept of DryBar and love the convenient location at Bottleworks. I visited the place multiple times. What I loved the most: +++ Opening hours and weekend times are very convenient to meet all kinda of needs . They are also pretty flexible in accommodating customers' needs, which I really appreciate! +++ The staff was always very welcoming and caring. ++ The place is well curated and the atmosphere very relaxing, perfect place to take care of yourself alone or with a mate! Love that you can relax and enjoy a drink on a well curated atmosphere. In my experience, the main area of improvement is + inconsistency with staff... I had some great blow outs, some fine and some not so great turn-outs (the blow-out I chose did not quite ended up as I wanted and had to do it myself the next day). So the place is great, just need to reduce the variability across the staff - it's still pretty new so hopefully time will help. On a side note, the place is more centered around "the experience", so if you're looking for a "fast and go" blow-out it's not the most affordable place to go. Recommended! read more

I had a wonderful experience at Drybar! My stylist listened to what I wanted to make sure she achieved exactly what I was hoping for. I wish I had a photo of it, but it was a Cosmo-Tai and she didn't use any hairspray because I told her I didn't want it to be crunchy or anything. I wish I knew her name so I could shout her out. As part of the experience, you can choose between coffee, tea, champagne, or a mimosa. They also play classic romantic comedies. I got to catch some of John Tucker Must Die which was a nice blast from the past. You can also opt for several different add-ons to your blowout - different hair masks and treatments. That seems like a great opportunity to try out products before committing to a full bottle - or to just do it once if you know you wouldn't use the whole bottle anyway. read more

I love me a good Drybar experience - from just pampering yourself to preparing for a special event, I appreciate that Drybar's everywhere offer the same experience and quality. My stylist was friendly and didn't seem to mind when I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment. She was excellent to work with. First, she gave me a bit of a longer head massage while doing a clarifying treatment. Then, she completely understood when I said my curls tend to fall, so if she could do it higher and tighter, that way they have loosened up for my event in a few hours. I'm only deducting a star, because I wasn't offered anything to drink upon check-in and had to ask for something mid-service myself. However, even after my service, they let me sit there for a bit to finish my mimosa! read more

I ended up choosing to go to Drybar before a wedding to get my hair done. I loved how quick the service was and that they offered me a drink when I came in for my appointment. My hair actually stayed the whole night too! The only thing I wish is that the staff was more friendly and personable during your appointment. I noticed none of them really talked to the customers. I am forever grateful that Drybar exists. I made an appointment to get my hair done just because. When you check in, the front desk will offer you a drink, including champagne! Your stylist will then take you to the chair and have you choose a style. They have a lot of different styles to choose from depending on the occasion. I did the The Manhattan which is a sleek and straight style. I love that they have a ton of different add ons like a charcoal scrub or a sleek treatment. It gives a little added fun to your hair. Let me tell you, have someone wash your hair is the best feeling. I always leave here looking amazing and having freshly clean hair is the best! read more

My only complaint was that they were running 15-20 minutes behind, which stressed me out as I had very specifically planned my schedule that day to get ready for an event that night. And finally someone came out and said, "I'll go ahead and get you started," which made me think she was just stepping in until one of the other stylists was done but she ended up doing my whole blow-out. But she acted like she wasn't planning on it? As in she didn't really talk to me the whole time. It's frankly unacceptable that I just received and 'I'm sorry' and 'hope you'll give us another shot' response. A couple additional thoughts in response to your email: - I DID let her know the moment she failed to exceed expectations. Per the feedback initially provided, at the 1 hour mark my hair wasn't even blown dry so I asked how much longer and she said another 20 min. I shared I was unhappy with that, and had budgeted 1 hr [per the website's marketing of approx 45 min for a full blowout service.] She apologized, and rushed the rest of the service, leaving my hair half done and lackluster when I left the salon shortly after 5pm. (I didn't brush out the curls until bed, but they were already almost totally gone. I had to completed re-do/curl and style my own hair once I got to New York.) I had zero time for her to do "same day touchups" given the problem was that she has taken too long in the first place; I have a young child and couldn't come back in later. I was flying to NYC in the morning and booked it at that time intentionally. - It's not about getting senior v. newer stylists, it's about only putting professionals on the floor that can do the job your customers are paying for. I should be able to go to any stylist and get the same level of service and outcome from each. - I don't know how knowing what products/tools I typically use is relevant here; this scenario had nothing to do with the products or tools used, but the competency of the stylist. I never once had an issue when I visited the Drybars in Los Angeles, i.e. I was assigned to different people when I came in and walked out w/excellent results every time. read more

I decided to pamper myself with a blow out for the first time in almost 2 years. My stylist was absolutely adorable, personable and very energetic. I enjoyed our conversation. The shampoo bowl was the best part of the experience. It was their 1 yr Birthday Anniversary and I was told I'd get to spend the wheel & win a prize at the end of my appointment. That didn't happen. I went to the dry bar for the first time and was not impressed at all. I was getting ready to attend a formal event downtown and thought it would be fun to have someone else do my hair for a change. Not to mention it was a birthday gift for me. The girl that did my hair did not seem to like her job at all. When I booked it, all I wanted was my hair curled and a small braid in front to keep my bangs out of my face. My hair was already washed and blow dryed. When I mentioned the braid she said "I don't know if we'll have time for that, you only booked for a dry style " (I don't remember her exact wording) . I specifically put in my booking for a braid and knew it cost a little more. Not to mention nobody else was in the salon except the other person that came with me! We also had appointments. In the end, it was 85.00 for both of our styles and we both ended up going back to our hotel room and redoing our hair. At least the person that did my friends hair was nice and personable, the girl that did my hair acted like I was interrupting her day. read more

It started off great. Front desk and stylist were very personable. But unfortunately at 3pm (my appt was at 12:15) the curl in my hair is completely gone. I booked the Cosmo style and after talking with my stylist and wanting the curls to last as long as possible (2 days fingers crossed) she thought more volume and tight curls would be best. I have been indoors the entire time and only about 10% of curls are left. I have a huge event that starts at 4pm and my hair looks terrible. This was my first time at Drybar and I wish I had just curled my own hair. $55 wasted not including my Lyft rides to and from the hotel. read more

My first time at a drybar and i'm so sold. Tay did my hair and he absolutely killed it. I have very long and thick hair so it's no easy task, but he gave me exactly what i wanted and it seems to be holding pretty well! I think he gave me a mai tai/cosmo hybrid. I also added a 10 minute scalp massage and it was so nice but I don't know if I'd add it again. Overall, I would definitely visit drybar (especially Tay) again when in the area. read more

This was my first visit to a Dry Bar, which I mentioned in the notes section when I made my appointment. My appointment was before an afternoon wedding and I was looking forward to it. Whoever did the scheduling put me with a girl who was completely inexperienced and obviously hadn't been well trained. After 10 minutes I almost walked out but ended up speaking with the manager. The manager had another stylist step in and she did 90% of the rest of the work while the girl I had the appointment with basically stood and watched. The second stylist was very experienced but rushed. The style ended up being just ok. When I checked out I told the manager how disappointed I was that as a first time client I was scheduled with someone who really didn't know what they were doing (you can't make a second first impression!). She said previous clients had no complaints. The stylist was shy and polite, and seemed like a sweet girl. The salon is doing her a disservice by not thoroughly training her. read more
