Chloe did a great job coming up with a haircut plan that suited my lifestyle when I gave her very minimal ideas for what I wanted. This is hands down my favorite haircut ever. My hair looks incredible! The face framing was well done, the extra layers gave my hair much needed volume and movement. My expectations were met and surpassed. I already booked another appointment with her which I don't normally do. Alright, I drank the koolaid and I'm officially on the curly cut wagon. I've already booked my next appointment. I had seen the great reviews for Salon Honey and heard great things from friends- so, after having my first appointment, I can see what all of the fuss is about. The staff was very friendly upon entering and they have a nice waiting area with tea and coffee. The cut process is quite different from any cut that I've heard before- Flipping you head over, moussing before cutting, etc. The actual salon is beautiful with natural light flooding here and several chairs available. I wanted a salon that had technicians who knew how to deal with my type of hair, could cut it/style it well, as well as give me tips I could take home with me afterwards. Salon Honey is the place!! I worked with Tess. She cut my hair dry, then washed and dried it, and finished by styling it with a diffuser- all while explaining exactly what she was doing and what products she was using and why. We had lovely conversation, and I walked away with the mousse she used because now I know how to use it! My hair is curlier than ever and, while I don't think I'll ever be able to make it look like it did when I left that day, that's why it is her job! This place is very large, has an easy online reservation system, and has its own parking lot. It is close to downtown fountain square and easy to find. WoW... WoW is truly the best description I can think of as I am rarely wowed lately. I would think after being shut down for so long due to Covid most people and places would be nothing but excited to see others again, but that has not been our experience recently. I am however completely overwhelmed by the kindness and knowledge of the girls in this salon. My husband and I took our daughter here today for her very first curly cut. Our hairdresser was Legacy who very quickly skyrocketed to the top of our WoW list Beth originally took my called and helped me through the process of choosing a stylist and appt time. I am so glad I finally found a salon in Indy that does dry curly cuts at a reasonable price. I have always felt so disappointed when I go get my hair done and my stylist would finish by blow-drying out my hair and straightening it - because its such an inaccurate representation of how my hair actually is. My curly cut was nothing like this - I left feeling so confident about my curls and my hair the way it actually is! I had an appointment with Dani and she was so great about giving me palatable tips for how to care for my curls and advice for the kinds of products that would work well for me. Unfortunately I was not able to have my hair cut so my review is strictly on the customer service or lack there of. I was scheduled to have a cut and style at 4 pm, I arrived early and sat in my car waiting until my scheduled appointment time. I received a text from the salon that the stylist was running 15 minutes late. I was asked if this would be an issue. I let them know it would as I had plans later that evening. I left the salon because I didn't receive any further communication. I was about 5 minutes away and the salon says the stylist is only running 10 minutes late. I proceeded to let them know I had left but would be willing to turn around. I was expecting a response but heard nothing until they contact me again a half hour later. I am told because I left I will be charged a cancellation fee. I asked how it was my responsibility since the salon never responded as I offered to come back and the stylist was late. I was told this is their policy and it's on the site. It's very fitting that they have nothing on the site to protect customers if a stylist is late. I was instructed to call and speak with a salon manager which I did and no one ever called me back. For me it's the principle that the salon collected a fee when no services were rendered and my appointment time was not honored. read more

After not having a "salon home" for a couple of years, I think I finally found one. I reached out to Salon Honey via text after finding the salon on Instagram searching for curly hair specialists in Indy. I received a response within 24 hours and was able to book with Celaithia within the week. Service here is top tier. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. I was immediately greeted, checked in, and asked if I wanted a beverage. What I loved about Celaithia is how many questions she asked and how much she listened. One thing I highly dislike is when stylists talk AT clients instead of WITH them. Celaithia and her assistant were both wonderful. They took their time and never made me feel like they were annoyed or in a rush to finish my hair and get to the next client. They were both so professional while also being warm and friendly. Let me start by saying, hire Celaithia and Jayci for your wedding hair! You will definitely not regret it. Celaithia is super knowledgable and we talked through what products work and don't work well for my hair. As someone who hadn't worn clip in extensions before, she made process incredibly easy and talked through everything. She also discussed the importance of prepping the day prior to wedding hair as well with the right products. The day of the wedding, Celaithia and Jayci did a great job with everyone, even without much direction on my bridesmaids hair because I wanted to make sure everyone felt comfortable with the styles they picked. We ended up getting done early with time for touchups! Overall, they really made me feel and look my best on my wedding day and my hair stayed the entire night, even into the next day (minus the clipins). I got the best cut with Sydney at Salon Honey a few weeks ago -- and the layers STILL look so clean and fresh! Sydney was great at listening to what I wanted and then applying her expertise to the look. It was a learning experience, too; as Sydney explained each part of the process, I was able to replicate the styled look at home. Next time, I'm definitely going to take her up on buying the hair oil with which she styled my hair - my hair was so shiny and sleek because of it. Salon Honey gets ALL the points for COVID-19 procedures - I felt so comfortable because it was clear that there was a regularly followed plan in place from the moment I entered the door. Let me paint the back story... So I tend to put off going to the salon until I look down and see a pile of crispy ends that are more like tumble weeds than actual hair. Well, this is exactly what happened over the weekend, and I went into a full-blown panic. Unfortunately, my regular stylist is amazing thus can't tailor her schedule to fit my ASAP needs so I went online and found Salon Honey. I obviously stalked their insta and was able to snag an appt. for Tuesday at 7:45pm and booking online was a breeze. For real, I did question the time but thought what the heck I'm 5 minutes away, it's like alternative, youthful, Fountain Square, Gen Z-ers or whatever... probably offer me up delta 8 instead of a PBR. I hoped in my car, pull up my maps (even though I knew exactly where it was at), turned on my radio jazz bc I'm a 35 yr old grandpa, and headed off. I even thought I had accidently called the salon but later I realized the salon was calling me while my car chaos ensued (again, old). I digress, I arrived promptly at 7:45pm and entered a fairly quiet salon with a few ladies standing at the door. Both wearing pastel and maybe a butterfly clip (ugh, 90's esthetic). I walked to reception to check in and that's when my heart sank. The lovely receptionist quickly went back to the stylist for a discussion. Upon return, I was told that I was 15 minutes late and due to this my crunchy hair wouldn't get cut and I would be charged a fee for my tardiness. I quickly pulled up my email and as gracefully as I could made my case (the email confirmation was in fact 7:45pm). I get it. I'm "late" based on the schedule you're referencing, not my fault... and maybe not the stylists either, but it definitely left me sad and irritated, especially since I still had my inspo pic in que. The convo ended with me being promised that I wouldn't be charged. I politely declined to reschedule because like let's be honest there's a salon on every corner downtown and I was hoping to find someone who had availability for the following day. Now I get to the point. I would recommend updating the booking registration as I received a text and email notification that definitely said 7:45pm. It would also be nice to hear from the stylist, especially since I was a new client and tend to fairly loyal (though I hope that my alt. hairstylist never hears about this). I figured she'd want to meet/greet/apologize, but nope she stayed hidden away, definitely ghosting on me. Needless to say, I left empty handed, without being offered a discount on future services (or a PBR) and a semi believable apology from reception all the while thanking God I didn't have a commute cause don't get me started on these highway shutdowns. BEWARE... Do NOT go to this salon if you want good service!!! I was treated horribly my first time ever. I arrived late I admit, I walked in at 4:15 for a 4pm appointment at which time I told the receptionist I was late and she continued to help her guest. I waited 5 minutes and then she came to me and said that since it was past 4:15 I would be charged the full service amount for a no show and I said but I was here at 4:15 tho and have been sitting here, she said no it was 4:16. The owner who I met since I live on the street and who asked me to try the salon came out (45 mins later) and told me she would waive the no show fee and told me not to come back. I literally in all my life have NEVER had such unprofessional immature treatment by staff members. I would never pay to have my hair done there im literally speechless, shocked, hurt that they treated me this way, have no idea how they stay in business treating customers this way!!!
