Absolutely love this salon. Love the environment everyone is so nice and it's its own salon so you don't have to walk around and knock on like 5 wrong doors before you get to the right place. I have gone to Lily a few times now I LOVE her. She always goes out of her way to make conversation with me which is rare in my experience. She is also very transparent about pricing and products as she does the appointment. She also does an amazing job explaining everything and the process of what she is doing to your hair. I've moved further away from this place but will happily drive out of my way to continue going there! 10/10 you will love your experience and your hair by the end of your visit! read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt this was worth sharing. I came in for a color correction and extension service and spent several hours at the salon. Unfortunately, the end result was not what I asked for. My color is still uneven with noticeable patchiness, and my extensions were not reinstalled or blended properly, leaving my hair looking uneven in both length and overall finish. I did express concerns during the appointment, but I was reassured that everything looked fine, which was frustrating given the outcome. Considering the time and cost involved, I expected a much higher level of service and attention to detail. read more

Penelope June is the best salon in the Indy area! The interior is super trendy, they have wonderful hospitality, and I'm always greeted with a smile. The products they use are from Eleven, which is a high end brand that I don't think anyone else around uses. I always leave with my hair feeling super healthy, soft, and smelling incredible! I've been going to Ally for over a decade. I'm not the greatest about keeping up with the latest styles and color trends so every so often I ask what I should get done and leave it up to her to do her thing and am always incredibly pleased with the end result. I've had my hair cut by a couple of the other stylists and they also do an incredible job. Cannot recommend this salon enough! read more

Greenwood had a holiday open house this past weekend. Lots of small businesses took part in it. I saw that Penelope June Salon was offering "dry styles" so I went! It's so pretty inside! They opened in March 2021 and it's located right on Main St. next door to Brick & Mortar - another cute shop and Revery. I love the colors they used for the salon. It's refreshing and has color to it with modern fixtures throughout. The owner - sorry I don't know her name was very nice and asked if I wanted a champagne, wine, or a soft drink. I chose champagne and Lilly offered to do my dry style. She did a great job!!! Her Instagram is @hairxlil. Being out and about after that people commented about my hair! I was like I know she did a great job, but for people to say that she did a terrific job! The products she used made my hair feel so much lighter. You know when you get your hair cut and it just feels lighter and better. That's what my hair felt like. She used a line called "Eleven" from Australia. I purchased a product she used and it smells so good. They also had a raffle for 3 different gift baskets and the money goes to the Refuge Food Pantry. I'm going to recommend this salon as a go to salon! Customer service was nice. Very welcoming and helpful. Thanks Lilly I will be back! :-) read more

I called to make an appointment ASAP with Ally this past Friday. She knew I needed an appointment to fix a really bad color and cut by my previous stylist. Ally stated she charged $75 for a haircut and $165 to foil my hair! She also said she was so popular she was booked all the way through November. But, she just so happened to have an appointment on Monday! We scheduled the Monday appt at 11:15. When I showed up today, Ally told me she was running 15 minutes behind. I had another appt in one hour that was at least 15 minutes away. She said I could wait or reschedule...she just happened to have a cancellation on Wednesday! Hmm. Interesting....... This is where it gets really off. So, she "dry cuts" my hair just to "even it out" for $40. NOT what I asked for! She knew I wanted it cut not trimmed. I showed her pics. So...a shampoo with a cut is $75 and a "TRANSFORMATIONAL" cut is $100.00. WTH? I already have short hair! I have my Cosmetology license and there is no "transformational cut." This stylist is unprofessional. In my opinion, she is dishonest about her schedule and makes up her prices as she goes. I definitely would NOT recomment. read more

I visited Penelope June Salon in December for a haircut and style. I have natural curly hair that can be hard to keep up with. Ruth gave me my very first "curly girl" haircut and I love it! Everyone was extremely knowledgable and helped me feel at ease with getting a new cut. The establishment was beautiful and the atmosphere was extremely welcoming.
