Me and two others came here this morning to get blowouts and were very impressed. I had Natalie/Natalee (manager) and she was phenomenal. She was engaged the whole time and asked questions to make sure I was getting what I asked for. She took her time even when her next customer was waiting. At the end she showed what products she used and where to buy them. The stylist who did my mom's and cousins hair were also amazing and did outstanding work. Sat in restaurant next door and decided I would make an appointment for Drybar next door. It was 2:45pm. Next available appointment was at 3:15pm and lots of openings after that according to their website. Rather than book online, I just jumped up and walked next door. I walked in and asked if I could get a blowout at 3:15pm. Receptionist response, "nah". -pause- I said, "May I book online since there seems to be a lot of openings this afternoon on your website?" My friend wanted us to have our hair done for her rehearsal dinner- so we started the day off at the DryBar. I needed my hair washed and was offered a ten minute head massage for an additional price. I normally would have upgraded because #treatyoself but the girl was already hurting my head with the normal wash. She was pretty intense and it was not enjoyable (hence why I'm only giving 4 stars). I was invited back to experience Drybar and round two went much better. I LOVED my stylist, Kaylee H. She was so friendly and bubbly and made me feel pampered throughout the whole experience. Plus she's great at doing hair and my cosmo-tai came out looking fabulous! Going forward, I would definitely book with her specifically. I came in about 15 minutes early all of the stylist who were working with their customers just stared at me then looked back at their chair then back at me and back to the chair. It was an awkward semi-staring contest no hi, hello, or someone will be here in a second. A few minutes later someone came out and introduced me to my stylist. She was nice and very friendly and knowledgeable. We started shampooing my hair and i asked for an additional mask which was an additional $10 on top of the treatment and style I booked for. Everything smelled amazing and our conversation went pretty well. I brought up the champagne and she just said yeah they serve it. It was kind of disappointing since that was the experience i was looking forward to. When she started styling my hair she was doing a different style and I reminded her which one i wanted to go with. She quickly fixed it and said we can straighten it afterwards. I think she styled it well and the softness and smell were great. There were a lot of fly always, the mask didn't make a difference at all, and the style lasted for about a day. Overall I was more excited to give dry bar a chance and was disappointed with the outcome. I would never pay $80 for an experience like this again. Walk in, though, and it's a different world: yellow and white everywhere, rom-coms on television, bridal parties, prepping for the perfect bachelorette...the list goes on. My daughter and I both got our hair done for a Mother's Day treat. My daughter liked that she got to choose the show she watched although she couldn't hear it. I was not very impressed. I got a very rushed wash, my hair was blown dry but no brushes were used to try and add volume so it was really flat. I then got a very quick curl and I was sent on my way. My hair fell out after a few hours and honestly my hair looked like I did it at home. There was nothing special, I could had saved the money. They only way I could see thins being worth it is if you needed an updo or you are the type of person who never does your hair to begin with otherwise, I'll be saving my money next time. The ultimate, girly experience. Drybar is always a super-fun, relaxing experience. Book an appointment ahead of time (on the app), show up, and you'll be asked if you want a mimosa, there will be iconic chick-flicks playing on the TVs, and you'll get sat at a hair bar amongst other people enjoying similar services. It's so fun to watch everyone get styled! I came here with my bridal party to get our hair done. It was the perfect bonding experience to be here with my two sisters and closest friends during a morning of pre-wedding jitters. I'd come a few weeks before to do a trial updo so that Drybar could take notes and know exactly what I wanted when it came to the actual day. The trial went great and I even brought in little baby's breath flowers for them to add to the updo, which was gorgeous. On the day of, it was a different stylist, so I didn't end up loving the hair as much as I had before, just simply because she had a slightly different style. It was still really pretty, but I think it'd be even better if (especially brides) could get the same stylist for both of those appointments. Regardless, we all had a blast and it was so enjoyable to get ready together and enjoy that special morning together. All five of us were sitting next to each other in a row, so we could look in the mirror and see how everyone's styles were coming. The stylists here are super talented and you can even stop by to just get a quick braid done in your hair (like $15/$20) if you don't have time/cash for a full blow-out or updo styling. They can do several different types of updos, and it helps if you bring a picture to show them. They tried several different ones on me during the trial and it was really fun to see all the options. Only other note is that I got confused when trying to call for an appointment and wish you had that option to call and just speak to a local person at that salon instead of downloading an app/trying to book a large party on the website. So for months I have driven by Drybar thinking it is a great concept. I just thought it was a great concept for white women. I never thought they catered to my hair type until today.. I woke up on a Sunday wanting my naturally curly texture hair straight. I started googling and came across Drybar. They were open and said they could fit me in same day. I will say the call center is out of the country, but is appears to work. Anyways, I made an appointment and showed up on time at Drybar. Quickly my stylist, Hailey greeted me and talked to me about different styles. She never seemed scared of my hair. She washed and then styled me. At first I was worried because my hair was caught in the brush. After about 15 mins, Hailey found her way and my hair looked amazing! She blew it out then curled it. My hair was left straight but soft. Polished yet playful! I was so impressed. The cost was only $45 plus tip. My hair looks fanatic! Talk about being pampered! This place is absolutely gorgeous and very welcoming. I'm far from a hair stylist. I cannot curl my own hair to save my life. And the stylist i had (Ashley Lawrence) was understanding and talked me through some of the options. You come in, check In with the front desk and wait (if you're early). A few chairs in the waiting area and the restrooms are to the right down a small hallway. I didn't count but I would say there are about 6-7 stations on each side of the salon and about 5 hair washing sinks. You talk through the options, I showed photos of images I saw via yelp for my inspiration, and then you get your hair washed. I loved getting my hair washed. Came real close to dozing off! Then we went into styling. She blew out my hair with the brushes, put a few pieces in curlers and also used a curling wand and straightener to get all the pieces just right. I had a wedding that evening and I'm glad to report my curls held (through a very rainy day) for the whole evening! I have been dying to try this place and finally did the inside is gorgeous. White and yellow decor everywhere. The restrooms were super clean. Sasha did my hair. She started by having me look in the book of styles. I went w the mai tai. We started w a shampoo. I could get my hair shampooed all day by someone else. After that it was onto be dried. This was relaxing. They have a big tv w romcom playing. Loud music. There are no mirrors so you cannot see what is happening. Which is fine bc I just love having my hair dried. While they put product in your hair they explain the products. The product is displayed up front but no prices so I felt it was expensive and I hate asking prices. I feel if I have to ask and it is too expensive then it is awkward. My reveal was great. Loved the style. I did end up buying 2 products which was more than I have ever spent on any products in my life. But my hair is normally dry and it felt like silk. I walked in on a Wednesday around 2pm without an appointment; however I am sure appointments are needed as word spreads. I waited a short 15 minutes, which gave me the perfect amount of time to check out the style offerings and enjoy a complimentary mimosa. I was seated with my stylist, Dani, who took some time to ask questions, get to know me AND my hair. Once we talked about the style I selected, we headed over to the wash station. One thing I have to mention is that all of their products smell phenomenal. From wash to finish, I wanted to take every single thing home with me. I have a lot of hair; it's long and thick. To be honest, I don't even like blow drying my own hair. So I was incredibly pleased with my Dani's attention to detail and consistency from start to finish. I've tried out the Dry Bar a few times now that it definitely deserves a review. I am so glad that Indianapolis now has a location because its definitely one of my favorite places to go to treat myself. I came in yesterday to get my hair done for my work holiday party, checked in with the friendly ladies at the front desk and in less then 5 minutes was in getting my hair washed and then in chair with my stylist Becka. She was very knowledgeable and super sweet. I ended up choosing The Old Fashioned (all of their styles and products are "cocktail" themed!) I was so happy with it! The style took about 45 minutes total and here is the best part: It lasted all night! I got so many compliments on my do! This place is seriously awesome. Having long hair, I don't get to pamper myself as much as I used to when I needed regular haircuts. I just love having my hair done, so this is a great place to go when you want to be pampered, or get that extra bit of polish on my hairdo for a fun event. I have been to drybar several times and enjoyed the time there. All the stylists are friendly and skilled. I always love my hair. The only difference is sometimes the style has held longer, but I think that had to do with weather. I love the products. I had one hiccup on scheduling when my scheduled stylist was away from the salon, but they made it right by getting another stylist to stand in and offering me a gift of apology. This continues to be my go-to when I just need that better blow out than I can do at home! read more

I had my first full DryBar experience last week in preparation for a gala that I was working. I made my appointment for 7:30 a.m. -- nearly 12 hours before the gala even began -- hoping and praying that they could work their DryBar magic and that my hair would last. Man, did they deliver! My stylist, Heather, was friendly and knowledgeable -- asking me questions about the products that I typically use before making recommendations. I showed her my dress and we decided on a subtle "Old Fashioned". 45 minutes + a mimosa and great conversation later, I was out the door with perfectly coifed hair. Better yet, not only did my hair last until the start of my event but it still looked just as great when I got home at almost 1:30 a.m. I can't recommend the ladies at DryBar enough. I had to force myself to wash it and was so bummed to lose my fantastic curls when I did. They looked good on day 1, but even better on days 2 and 3. Bernice let me flip through a book to choose the style I wanted, and then I was off for a shampoo and scalp scrub. I opted for the Bay Breeze hydrating shot add-on, and I'm so glad I did. My hair--which is colored monthly and heat styled pretty much daily--feels softer than it has in a long, long time. I was offered a glass of wine or champagne while I was having my hair done, making the experience even more fantastic. As a mom and lady boss always juggling I wanted to feel like I had my &*%$ together for a girlfriend gathering and so I booked one. I'm so conflicted. In theory, I love the concept of Drybar. but in reality, I found it a bit disappointing. On a Saturday mid-afternoon, my mom and I walked past Drybar and decided to treat ourselves to a nice blowout before our dinner. Neither of us had been in before, so it was really a special treat. They were able to accommodate us as walk-ins within the hour, so we hung around nearby and popped back in when it was time for our blowouts. For $45 a blowout, I anticipated this to be a really luxurious experience with exemplary customer service. Instead, my stylist seemed annoyed and like she would rather be elsewhere. She didn't offer me a beverage (despite everyone around me having mimosas, wine, etc.) She seemed annoyed when I asked her to repeat a question because I couldn't hear her over the blowdryer in the chair next to me. When we went back to the shampoo bowl, she rushed through my shampoo. While the stylists next to me were asking their clients if the temperature was good, etc., my stylist asked nothing of the like and sprayed water continuously into my ears, without even the slightest attempt to avoid it or keep them dry. I get it, a little bit is natural, but I've never felt anything like this before in a hair cut,etc. Her obvious annoyance with her job made me feel very uncomfortable and really put a damper on my special treat. As far as the end result, I was pretty pleased. My hair looked smooth and loosely curled. I would potentially try again if I were in the area and had a special occasion or wanted a special treat, but I would not want to be with the same stylist.
