We met friends here on a Sunday at 12:30 with a party of 8, and overall it was a mixed experience…read more The host greeted us quickly and had tables pulled together in the back without much of a wait, which we appreciated. Our server was attentive at the start--she took drink orders as each portion of our group arrived and kept things moving smoothly. As we got closer to closing time (2:00 PM), service shifted a bit. About 15 minutes before closing, as we were wrapping up, our server stopped checking in. This was our first visit, though friends in our group had been once before and described it as "just okay," which felt accurate to us as well. We always like supporting local spots, and this was an easy meeting location, so we were hopeful. It's also worth noting they currently hold a strong 4.5 rating, and it seems like many locals really enjoy this place. That said, the biggest drawback for us was the portion size compared to the pricing. One person in our group ordered a Reuben, and the meat didn't even cover the bottom slice of bread--with not enough to redistribute. The fries portion was very small (more like a kids' serving), and the plate was around $13. That seemed to be the general theme--nothing tasted bad, but nothing stood out, and portions felt light across the board. Atmosphere-wise, it's what you'd expect from a diner--casual, relaxed, and easygoing. We'd consider going back for convenience, but it's not a place we'd go out of our way for. With a few adjustments--especially around portion sizes--this could easily match the reputation it already seems to have with locals.

Shoutout to our local community heroes like Mallory and crew. The venue is like the best feeling of…read morea hometown diner! The atmosphere is just the perfect smell of eggs and bacon, the familiar sounds of coffee brewing and staff hustling, and the warmth of the staff knowing their regulars by name and remembering their orders. Mallory has made every trip to this venue feel like we have known each other forever. She is attentive, personable, and kindhearted. She will make sure that your order is to your liking and if not she is quick to make it right. The staff pretty much moves like a well oiled machine. All the staff that I have met have been so hospitable. The patrons are happy to have good food, good atmosphere, and great service! Taste the Love! My favorite breakfast: over easy eggs, white toast, extra crispy bacon, and extra crispy potatoes. Yummm! Me and two buddies Bob the coin man and John meet up at the same bat time and same bat channel!! Love it!!! It's like Happy Days meets the Breakfast Club!!! I'm hooked!!

I got cornbread and a drink as well and waited for less than 10 minutes. Customer service was good ti myself and others from what I saw. The portions were huge and I had enough for two meals. Candied yams were good and so was the max snd cheese. I'll definitely be back when I'm in town. It's in a strip mall but definitely not the easiest to find.

The pork chop looked good, but it didn't seem seasoned, and there wasn't enough gravy on it to really be considered smothered. My husband's soda also had a strange aftertaste, which wasn't pleasant. On a positive note, the sides were absolutely delicious. The sweet potatoes, butter beans, rice, and cornbread were all flavorful and enjoyable. That's honestly what saved the meal for me. I know every restaurant can have an off day, and because we've had great experiences here in the past, we'll definitely give them another chance. This visit just wasn't up to the standard we've come to expect from Sweet Mama's.
