While in town we visited the Spice House off of recommendation from a local friend and 'BY GOLLY'…read morewhen I tell you it was hands down the BEST experience all around!! Lexie, our waitress, was so patient and attentive to our requests. I didn't get the bartenders name, but she concocted my drink request perfectly! The manager, beautiful sweetheart Ruthy's energy and vibe was unmatched!!! From the moment we walked in...though a little uncertain of what to expect....everyone was so quick to great us and seat us! Down to the excellent service and drinks, we demanded to meet the Chef, Junior, to personally thank him for the amazing food....such a kind, humble young man!! We intend to eat here every night until we leave this weekend!! I highly recommend Spice House and I will certainly dine here EVERY time I'm in Atlanta!! Thank you so much Ruthy, Lexie and Junior!! You all are the BEST!! See you again tonight!!!

Considering I already think NYC has thee best food options, I went in open and hopeful to be proven wrong. I arrived excited and ready to vibe, but that excitement quickly faded. The aesthetic, or lack thereof, was disappointing. I expected something vibrant, colorful, or even a chic modern look. Instead, the space felt neglected and unkept. I was also surprised by the absence of music, which immediately threw off the atmosphere, though I tried to keep in mind that this isn't NYC. Once seated, I noticed how mash-up the chairs were. Mine literally had exposed nails. Still, in anticipation of mimosas and Jamaican food for brunch, I shifted slightly to the side and focused on enjoying my best friend's company. Our server was just alright. Very much giving "here for the paycheck," not necessarily service-driven. Unfortunately, that's become common these days, so I adjusted my expectations, and tipped accordingly. The menu itself had promise. I appreciated the Southern fusion options with a Jamaican twist, and the hookah menu was surprisingly comprehensive, though we chose not to order one. We opted for the unlimited mimosas, and to be fair, we definitely got our money's worth. That said, I was disappointed to learn they were pre-mixed. I prefer fresh orange juice with popped brut or sparkling, and once I saw how the drinks were prepared, it made sense for a busy brunch crowd- just not my preference. For food, we ordered the oxtail egg rolls to start, along with the Spice Breakfast and chicken and waffles. Everything was... fine. No real complaints, but no standout moments either. Overall, the brunch was okay. I might give them another try for dinner, but this visit didn't quite live up to the expectations.

I really enjoyed coming to this place. It was recommended to me by a fellow yelper and it was…read moregreat. This place is on the side of an abandoned mall. It is impossible to spot from the street. You need GPS to get here. I was served by the bartender KJ and the service was great. He showed me around and explained the venue. They have comedy shows on Thursday, DJs for Friday & Saturday, and Jazz on Sunday. I ordered the Red Snapper Jerk. It came with plantains, fried potato cakes, carrots, and tomatoes. The Red Snapper was great but loaded with bones. I really enjoyed the greens inside the fish. Potato cakes are pretty bland so get a dipping sauce. I will return for one of their events.

I'm really trying not to take away another star, but... It took a while for us to get our food. How is there just 1 bartender on a Friday night? Maybe there was just 1 cook also tonight. I like the atmosphere and we danced and had a good time. We were celebrating birthdays so I will let the slow service slide this time. My drink finally came while I was writing this review. The lychee martini was all that! Let's work on the service Escovitchez!!! I live here in Tucker and want to spread the word about y'all!!!
