I can't remember the name of my nail tech but i think it started with a T. She was INCREDIBLE!!! I have very detailed requests for my nails and she made sure to pay attention to each request. Even when i told her she didn't need to draw another spiral on my nail because it would be faster to do stars she said "no. spirals will look better". I really appreciated how she put care into each design. I am incredibly happy with the result. Almost a month later and none of my nails have fallen off and I do manual labor with my hands every day for work. Whenever I am in Minneapolis again I will be returning to DS Nails!!! read more

I've been to a few ladies here - Mia, Nina and Ivy. They are all so sweet and do a great job at doing my nails exactly how I want them. They never pressure me to change my design, colors or anything else. Their prices range based on nail tech, design and shape but the most I've paid is $65 for my yellow set & white Christmas set which both took a while so to me price is reasonable. I've also never had an issue with cleanliness at the salon. I recommend DS Nails if you're looking for a new salon! read more

They have been really hit or miss for me. I've had 2 pedicures, 3 or 4 gel manicures and a dip manicure. The hot towels, stones, and neck wraps they use during the pedicures are way too hot. I've had to ask them tell them the towels are too hot because I was about to get burns on my feet. The neck wrap also left a minor burn on my shoulder even though I tried constantly moving it around. The first pedicure I had she also scraped the back of my heel which left a wound. It wasn't bad but I was planning to do some hiking and it made it a bit painful. The last pedicure I got also just doesn't look good. The paint uneven and crinkling up somehow - see pic. I haven't had any real issues with the manicures, they have all looked pretty good. All the employees are nice, some are more friendly / talkative than others. read more

The only thing I dont like about this place is how long it takes to get a pedicure! I know, wah wah. I loved everything about my citrus pedicure. Hot towels and stones were perfect. I read a book during my appointment. Soft classical music was playing, and the women working there all seemed pleasant and quiet. It seems they are friendly with each other, but still quiet. I like the vibe. I also had a manicure done, which I rarely do. It never seems like the best ROI for me, especially compared to pedicures. Best manicure ever. Not even kidding. My nails are perfect, no cuticles cut too short, no edges left without color, no bubbles or peeling even days later. While I was there, a women came in alone and asked if they took children. Then she went back to her car and brought in what appeared to be 3 or 4 year old twins. They were loud. The daughter had a quick kids manicure and was very happy. The son had some small toys with him. They fought. Their mom gave them her cell phone. I'd rather listen to kids fight than loud videos. I honestly cant believe the mom had such intricate nail work done. She snapped at her kids several times. Towards the end she was bribing them. Why am I telling this story? BC the woman working with them did not blink. She remained positive and engaged the kids while doing outstanding work on their mom's nails. After they left, none of the workers expressed any displeasure. I thought that was amazing. I'm sorry to anyone who has received less than stellar service here, but my experience was impressive. read more

I think I've found the place where I will always go to pamper myself!! This place was discovered by my boyfriend when I mentioned that I wanted us to get our first pedicures. I looked at the salon's work online and wow! The attention to detail was what sold me. There is a lot of amazing work on there. We booked our appointments and the first thing I noticed was how clean the workspaces were and how fresh the air was in there. Nail salons, understandably, tend to struggle in this area due to the monomer fragrance and whatnot, but DS Nails has figured it out. Long story short, the pedicures were amazing! The bowls had liners and files/buffers were individually packed and opened in front of you so you know that you were getting clean items. I also watched as the technicians used tools from one basket and when it was used, they placed it in a "Used/Dirty" basket. I had Tanya who was very gentle and conscious of the fact that I am ticklish. I literally only twitched maybe twice during a one hour service. This confirmed that I needed to get my nails redone as seen in the picture. ChiChi did my fill-in, nail reshape and even the design. What sold me for future returns is that not only did she take her time, she asked for feedback along the way and her tools appeared sanitized. She looked at the nail from all angles as she was shaping and even though I found many things wrong in my previous set from a different salon, I can't say that I found anything wrong with this set. She drew my desired image by hand and, well, you see it!! Ok, ok, this review is long enough. Suffice it to say that I love it here and I hope they keep up the good work. First time! Beautiful clean salon, brand new chairs! Mia did my nails, Lyna did my toes. Made an appointment for both. Do that! They prioritize appointments over walk ins when it gets busy. Ho-ly cow! Mia was so thorough, comparing the tip length and shape of every nail to the same nail On the opposite hand, made sure the ombré wasn't too thick (too thick and it looks like those Jordan almonds you have at Easter). Fabulous!!! Lyna did my toes. Opted for the collagen pedicure. Hot towels, collagen booties, warm Neck wrap. I nearly fell asleep I was so comfortable. My legs and feet haven't ever been this soft. Not even when I was a baby were they this soft and silky! I showed her a picture of the nail design I wanted, and she did it PERFECTLY!!!! I will absolutely be back. Boujee nail salon but I was not impressed with my services as DS nails. I called a couple days before to schedule an appointment for my friend and I. When we arrived we were brought to our pedicure chairs and waited 45+ mins for a nail technician to start. Our water became cold and no one had checked in on us. After our pedicures we were seated for our manicures. They were running a bit behind so the lady that originally started my nails could not finish and another woman had to take over. Spent over 2.5 hours there on a Wednesday evening. Nails did not last nearly as long as other places I have been to. Services are a bit pricey as well. read more

I randomly walked in hoping to get a mani. They sat me down right away. I was helped by two techs. One who removed my polish and the other (Chichi) who worked on my nails. Chichi was sooo great! She was kind and helpful. She listened to what I wanted without showing irritation (happens so often other places). She was careful and did really good job. The salon itself is very cute and clean. Was getting my feet done for my appt that I had at 6:00 pm I asked the lady (Mia) that usually does my nails how much a fill was knowing I did not have an appt. I was just simply asking how much a fill was . She told me no I don't have time in a rude way and brushed me off . Mia, Chi Chi and Hannah are all amazing! The salon is clean and beautiful, they make the ambiance peaceful and offer drinks. My panicure is always relaxing and perfect (Chi Chi) gives an amazing leg massage and my toes are always flawless. Mia does my full set (Chi Chi does them as well) both do an amazing job. I am never disappointed. My acrylic last a long time, I love the designs, from glitter, rhinestones and the many different polish or dipping options. This was my first time to this salon and I suspect that some of the employees are friendly and do nice work but I was not fortunate enough to get one of those. I went in for a pedicure - which I was looking forward to since it had been over a year since the last one. The woman who helped me smiled at me in a way that made me think she was fantasizing about murdering me. The pedicure itself was sloppy and crooked and not worth the $40 I paid. If I could give it zero, I would. I brought my daughter in yesterday. Was there for all of 10 minutes. My child is 3. The woman , I believe it was Tanya, had offered to do my daughter's nails. She was trying to do everything possible TO NOT do my daughter's nails. It was my child's first time, she was nervous about the water, the woman stated it won't be a good idea because she's too short, I scoot her up and her feet were in just fine. A woman offered a pillow, Hannah, she told her to take it back, asshole move honestly, then she stated that she "knows kids and knows a child that won't sit still".she wasn't moving around or anything. She was sitting. My daughter and I do Manis regularly at home. So. She just wanted to paint them. Every time my daughter blew her nails to help, she would huff and puff and talk to the lady doing my pedi , whispering to each other and laughing. So. My daughter did a slight cough and I kid you not. This woman fell BACK in her chair.. fell... back.. put her hands on her head and pushed her seat back. My daughter has asthma and her daddy had her inhaler. It was so embarrassing. Then proceeded to talk to her friends in their foreign language and laugh at my us. The audacity of this woman, omg. So I took my feet out the water and packed up my child asap. I offered to pay for the paint and that was it. She offered to continue but why would I even want to do that when she made a scene the way she did. If you're scared of a cough, you should have stayed at home. My child has asthma and it was bs to assume my child was sick in such a way that she felt like she had to fall back in her chair another woman seen the entire thing and left as soon as I did. I wanted to love it. I did. But I had two not great experiences. I got gel nails done on a Tuesday. They were chipping and peeling off on Saturday. I had already made my appointment for a pedicure so I decided to keep it. I went in this morning. Was promised that wifi worked, it didn't. I then was met with a nail tech who didn't talk to me, but just grabbed my foot and turned it how she wanted. Simply not kind. Hoping my pedicure lasts longer than the gel manicure did. I went here on a Thursday evening with my 4 year old. They have little diva on the service list so I figured they would be good with kids.... They are not good with kids, all of my daughters nails feel off that same day. Normally for my 4 year old nails stay on for 2 days because she's a child. The nails didn't even last until that evening. My 4 year old in my opinion was being as still as a 4 year old could be and they were rolling there eyes at me, ignoring everything my daughter asked, and almost didn't paint her hands because the person was upset that the 4 year old wasn't tall enough to sit in there chair... it was $170 for mani and pedi for us both with total not worth my lopsided toe paining, my French tips that aren't even to the length I asked for, and my daughter nails falling off that same day. If you are planning on going with a child don't go. My mani and pedi went from 3:45pm start until 6:05pm! That's way to long and they did not even do a real foot massage. Let alone the attitude for me bring a kid when they have a little diva section was ridiculous. read more
