How long is the prep portion of it? I understand we have two hours to take the exam, but at what time does that begin?

So far other doctors treatment recommendations seem to be cookie cutter and difficult to connect with the office for appointments. Coworker of mine had an evaluation here and spoke highly of his assessment and treatment. I decided to give it a shot and have been very happy with the services here. It helps to know that the doctors here are actual experts in their field and teach other doctors about ADHD and how to treat it. They are authors of books and research articles which helped me feel like I would be in good hands given their reputations. They take their time and easy to communicate with, so I've been happy to be a patient here for several years. Getting the right healthcare is an investment so getting the best care from a private practice was one of the best things I did for myself and my family. And the front office manager is a real gem so communicating with the office has been a game changer compared to other places.

She has been a critical component to my son's academic progress and self-confidence. Her knowledge and experience has also helped us to finesse IEP goals to better suit his challenges. Although she has relocated, we have been able to continue sessions through Skype that are still equally effective. I can tell Chloe really cares about my son and goes the extra mile to best serve his needs. Expertise and compassion make Chloe an incredible asset to my son's team. I highly recommend her!

Chloe was always responsive and really pushed for the evaluation to be reviewed in its entirety. During my son's IEP meeting, Chloe stood-up for my son in a way that brought tears to my eyes. It is rare to find people who are as dedicated to their profession, but that also genuinely care about the population that they serve. Because of her dedication and support during the IEP process, I decided to have my son attend speech therapy with Language and Literacy Group--even though we live far away, and our insurance does not cover these services. In the 3.5 months that my son has been attending therapy with Chloe and Molly, he has made noticeable progress in the way he expresses himself and his desire to communicate more with peers and his family. I will forever be grateful for their support and for being a part of my son's development and growth.

I found Surf Blessons at a local beach event, and he totally seemed like a good guy. I soon followed him on social media, where I was intrigue and entertained- sometimes laughing at his posts. He's very animated and very knowledgeable of the ocean's movements. I was a little bit uneasy at first. I have always wanted to learn how to surf, but didn't feel too cool about being unable to head into the water to learn. Kawika brushed it all aside, and made me feel like a duckling as he led me into the waves. Before long, I was just like a baby duck, happily splashing and learning to ride the waves safely to the shore. My body is asymmetrical, so my balance isn't like a normal person's. With his long time of experiences, he was able to tailor me accordingly to my astonishment. I've had multiple lessons with this fellow now, and I've learned something new each time we go out into the ocean. Which is perfect, because the conditions change almost always.

My son of course is new to the sport, I was a bit nervous, but he made everything feel easy and fun from the start. His teaching style is laid-back but very professional, and he gave clear, step-by-step instructions that were easy for my son to follow. He was patient and encouraging, which helped my son build confidence easily. The conditions were perfect, and Kawika knew exactly how to guide him through the waves, making sure he was safe while having a blast. By the end of the lesson, he was able to stand up and catch a few waves almost on his own. I highly recommend booking a lesson with Kawika (Surf Blessons) Darnell J.

Most just aren't given clear guidance on what to ask for or what their child is actually entitled to. What stands out to me about Rise is how parents are supported in really understanding what's happening and how to advocate in a way that feels realistic and manageable. Having a clear plan and next steps takes a process that can feel chaotic and makes it more actionable. Another strength working with Rise is that April has firsthand experience working within the school system, meaning she understands how things actually function behind the scenes and can guide families in a way that's well-informed and practical. If you're feeling stuck or unsure where to begin with the IEP and 504 process, Rise provides the kind of support that can help you feel more confident and less alone in navigating it.

But after years of navigating IEPs and constantly feeling like my concerns were never fully heard and being minimized, I was worn down. Over time, I started speaking up less. Even when I knew the legalities of IEP's fairly well, the constant pushback from school made me quieter, exhausted, and more willing to accept decisions. I was tired of fighting for nothing and eventually gave in. But this year, when a simple request to help my child turned into something far bigger than it ever needed to be, I finally realized I needed support. April was incredibly knowledgeable about IEPs and helped identify additional testing my child needed, what was missing from the current IEP, and what should be added moving forward. But beyond her knowledge, what mattered most to me was that she truly listened. She took the time to get to know both me and my child so we could walk into the meeting aligned and prepared as a team. You'll read plenty of reviews about her expertise, which are true. But for me, the most valuable part was having someone who genuinely heard and believed me. April took the time to listen because she knew where I was coming from and genuinely cared. Just having her next to me during our meetings made me trust my own voice again as well. Because she was more than just an advocate, April felt like a true teammate, and that made all the difference.
