They weren't all in the same area. I almost left without purchasing anything. No assistance was offered by a store employee.On my way out I saw what I was looking for though. Stopped in here just to use my $5.00 birthday reward. It's a nice sized store with plenty of options however, today I only shopped at the front of the store to find something that was in the $5.00 range. I found a cute little pair of socks with wine glasses on it for $5.99. Straight to the checkout I went. Only one person was in front of me. I was next in line to step right up. The process was nice and easy. I only had to pay the difference which was $1.05. Not bad for a cute pair of socks. Cashier was very pleasant. read more

I do not know why this store was moved from the other location. I liked the large space and the ease to browse with ease. This location is smaller, women shoes on the right, men shoes on the left, and children shoes were further up front to the right. With COVID, the arrows are hard to follow while browsing which can make it hard to shop. The clearance rank has a sign advising to limit 1-2 person to browse. The selection was just sort of grim. The quality subpar, the cost way too much. During my time, I was trying to find some decent flats for work. I found a few, but most the fit was off or way over $60. I usually like their Lucky Brand brand, but didn't find any in my size or the right color , nor the right style. I didn't find any Uggs in my size either, so I just left empty-handed. read more

First off, let me start by saying that the address on the receipt reads 1238 Putty Hill. But I'm sure this is the same location. I went in a few days ago with my favorite pair of boots. The sole had split on the left boot and I had (at that point) only had them for about a month. I've been busy. So when I finally went in it had been about 6 weeks. Without my receipt they were still able to pull up the transaction on the computer because I'm a rewards member. After a dumbfounded look on my original associate's face the man (around 50ish- I regret I didn't ask his name. He didn't have a name tag on) who took over the transaction told me he'd give me $10 for the boots, like he was making a deal. I quickly rejected "his offer" as the boots retailed at $99.99. But he told me that I only paid $9.99 in cash. Yes, he was correct. But I also used $90 in rewards that I had built up. Neither one of the associated inspected the boot. No one offered an even exchange or even a clear explanation of the policy. Clearly this was going nowhere. So I asked for the transaction number so I could call customer service. He said that the computer didn't give him the transaction number just the date of the transaction. FALSE! After getting nowhere again with the customer service line, because they only deal with online sales, I went to another location. There the policy was clearly explained to me. The manger was curious and as accommodating as she had the ability to be within the situation. She treated me with respect and was very apologetic over the situation. DSW does not outline their return policies on their receipts or clearly explained anywhere on their website. It says on their return page "DSW will gladly accept returns of most unworn, undamaged or DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE for a refund or exchange." There are even several different pictures showing "returns & exchanges made easy". So not only will the brick and mortar not help with my defective boot but customer service also denied my efforts because they only deal with online purchases. Figure that one out. I've been to this DSW like four times before I ever ventured upstairs and I will tell you that was my first mistake. The first floor houses the majority of the womens shoes so ive always just browsed and kept going, Ive had better luck finding shoes in other DSW locations. Then one day I got on the escalator and ventured upstairs. That day changed my life lol! Their clearance section is HUGE! I wandered for quite awhile and found some great gems! Not only is it huge but it has a great selection. I will say staff is pretty much nonexistent. Which is nice when I want to walk around in the shoes for a bit to see if I would like them in real life but sucks when you have questions. otherwise come here, go to the clearance buy your shoes and go home. read more

This is my favorite DSW of all time. I used to come here a lot more often than I do now, but I still come occasionally. Why do I love this store so much? It's one of the only places that I find UGGS on sale. They don't call it DSW for nothin!!! I love their clearance section, its the best, by far better than any other DSW that I've been to. While this store has a good selection of shoes, heals etc, I just go to the sale. Employees are hit or miss with high turn over, but that's ok, expected for retail. read more

We took my elderly mother there two days ago because we were hoping to find a duplicate pair of shoes she's owned for quite awhile and which are nearly worn out (we'd first gone to Nordstrom's and they were very helpful & patient, but they didn't have what my mother needed and they recommended DSW). Two young sales clerks - Sabraya and Austin - literally spent about *45 minutes* helping my mother try on many pairs of shoes. The problem is that arthritis and various other ailments have caused her feet to now be two different sizes - so all of the shoes she liked and which were really comfortable weren't available in the next half-size (larger or smaller [we were thinking we'd buy two pairs and only save each respective shoe that fit her]). Sabraya and Austin repeatedly searched all over the store in an attempt to help my mother; they were absolutely *magnificent*, and also continually friendly & good-natured. I complimented the manager afterwards and she was also very friendly. Truly great employees! read more

After accidentally selecting ship to store, I drove an hour and a half from Calvert County only to find that they had changed their store hours and now close at 8. I was very disappointed and I'm now making the hour and a half drive home. I guess I'll waste three hours of my life again tomorrow. read more

Selection here wasn't anything special, but the clearance section was HUGE. I didn't find any winners on this particular day, but my mom found a ton of pairs to fit her larger than average-hard to find size. I found plenty of cute pairs to watch - hoping to find them on that beautiful clearance aisle! This place is a perfect example of why brick and mortal retail is failing. One would like to hold online shopping as the sole cause, but a jaunt through these isles may show evidence of another reason. For one, the word "Discount" in their acronym is a misnomer. There's nothing discount about this place except for the clearance area upstairs. Well, that and the discounted quality of the displays and furnishes. The place is a dump, drab and depressing. I was still considering, "oh screw it, I need to rain boots. Maybe I'll just get them here." BUT THEN NATURE CALLED. Having to tinkle, I wandered past the flats and into the bathroom. Which looks like that scene from Transpotting when Ewan McGregor dives into the worst toilet in Scotland. Well, the other end of that portal is in Towson, off Joppa Road in a sad DSW. I mean, there was shit on the walls. I went home, took a shower and ordered a pair of Sperry's on Amazon for $20 less. read more

The staff are friendly and the shoe selection is often good. However, don't bother risking your life during the pandemic to pick up a free gift. I have been a faithful customer for years, and no matter how many times I've gone to pick up the tote or whatever it is that they are offering for free, somehow they never have it. This seems to be a ploy just to get customers in the store. Have fun shoe shopping, but don't expect anything for free. read more

The place is huge. hard to believe that they could fill 2 floors wall to wall with shoes, but they managed to do it. I went after receiving one of their many $10 off coupons and found a nice pair of shoes. That was 7 months ago. At this point those shoes, while still nice are already wearing out and coming apart. These are dress shoes that I only wear these once a week. I'd expect this from Payless, not a higher up store like DSW. read more

This is the worst DSW I have ever shopped at. The employee's are very rude and never helping. The managers are racist and the store is unorganized. Everytime I come in there they never have my size. The lines be long as H*** with one cashier all the time. I have have experienced the worst customer service at this DSW. They don't even care. Save yourself the trouble and go upstairs to the clearance section. I haven't ever been disappointed in the amazing selection of shoes at a seriously discounted price. I was able to score five gorgeous shoes for $112. Yes, I said $112! The cool part is that they have a HUGE selection of 5 and 5.5 shoes. This is a bigger plus for me. read more

Average selection but definitely NOT cheaper than retail. They ARE retail, meaning the same price as shoe stores in the mall or more.

I love this place I bought 3 pairs of shoes. All of them were 80% off. I paid 15 $ for all of them.together . Love a bargain.

I know its a chain, but I really do love DSW. Such a selection and such good prices. Plus its always clean and well organized, unlike most discount places. I walked out with 3 paris of shoes, all originally around $100, for under $100 total. This is not an uncommon occurrence for me at DSW. read more

This is a pretty big store, with a huge selection for women. Most of the 2 floors are dedicated exclusively to women's shoes. There is a solid men's section as well. read more
