The majority of my shoes are purchased at this DSW Canton location. There's always a good selection and I can usually find one in my size. Depending on the brand and type of shoe, it can be pricey. I've been into this DSW about a handful of times. On my very first visit here, after moving to the area, the employee could not produce a receipt. After trying to work through it (I don't recall why she simply couldn't replace the paper) she tried to convince me to just go without a receipt. I also recall a couple leaving because the wait was so long. In the end, I just left without a receipt. The shoes were just some Crocs so I was okay with it but..... c'mon. On this visit, I first noticed the amount of fingerprints and smudges on the front door. It just gave 'dirty' vibes. I barely wanted to touch the door to go in. Then, I walked in, and the employee (who, for some reason, I assumed was the manager) was on speakerphone having a conversation with who knows who. He continued that conversation while walking throughout the store with shoeboxes (working I suppose). He continued that speakerphone conversation the whole time I was there. He did finally ask me if I needed anything. Granted, there were only a handful of us in the store, but still..... Is that what we're doing these days? I do most of my shopping on-line and, I guess things have changed. The store was in good shape though. It was pretty clean and the shoes were organized. It was a weekday and I did finally hear one other employee speak up. They have a nice assortment of shoes and I did find some boots I've been looking for for awhile. read more

I've been going to this DSW since the location opened and I've always had a good shopping experience here. I actually like that the staff leaves you alone. This is the kind of store where you browse and seek out help if you need it. Who cares if they say hi when I walk in the door? Chances are I'll be distracted by a shoe display and would barely respond if someone did greet me. The shoes are arranged in a logical order. Women's shoes take up the majority of the store [rightfully so!] and go from fancy heels, to more work appropriate pumps, then casual shoes to boots, then sneakers. The men's section, register area, and accessories comprise the rest of the store. There's always a shoe in there calling my name. Sometimes the shoe I like isn't in my size, so I find a customer service rep and they continue to be super helpful in finding my size at another store, or having the right size shipped there for pickup later. Not sure what people are expecting when they go to DSW. They must think they're at Nordstrom or Lord & Taylor or Bloomingdale's. You want discount, possibly last season shoes, temper your expectations at DSW. read more

I was in a pinch and needed new gym shoes that we're comfortable, to my liking, and at a reasonable price. DSW was my life savor. Now I can feel better while working out and didn't have to spend an arm and a leg to do so. The warehouse was very clean and the service was phenomenal. My cashier signed me up with an account and saved me 20% on my purchase today! I was extremely happy that they were already at a low price and I got to save even more, just by becoming a member! For starters, this was not a welcoming store. My family and I entered about 30min before closing. We walked past 2 employees and was never greeted. Nevertheless, we went there to find 3 specific shoes for my son's school concert. We quickly found the 3 shoes and tried them on to determine the best fit/style. Shortly afterwards, one employee approached us to let us know that the store was closing in 10min. I informed her that it was disappointing to only have one interaction with staff members. She shrugged it off and walked away. We ended up going to the line just to wait 15min to be seen. The cashier would complete the transaction for one customer then walk them to the door to let them out/lock the door back. We all felt uncomfortable with the energy given off by the staff there. Not to mention, the floor at the cash registers was stained and dirty with visible trash. It simply was not a good experience. The employees should be nicer and welcoming of all guest. Instead, we felt like we were a burden to them. Hopefully they were experiencing a bad day and this is not their normal way of interacting with customers. I like DSW but next time, I would prefer to order online instead of coming into the store. read more

Oh Designer Shoe Warehouse, how I love thee, well in theory at least! I love DSW and everything that it stands for, fabulous shoes for awesome prices. Now what I have learned is that the selection of shoes completely depends on the area, I thought that in Canton I would be successful, NOT SO! I perused the aisle in an effort to find something that brought that spark to my shoe lovers eye, so I can spend my free money (hey they send me awesome coupons DJM) but alas, there was nothing! I passed my coupon on as I sulked away. Maybe I'll try again, who knows, I've never been unsusccesful in a DSW. Back to Bethesda or Wheaton I go....siiiiiigh. read more

If you appreciate shoes, nice shoes, you will enjoy and cherish this DSW. It's new, clean, and freshly stocked. They are still smoothing out some of the edges but it is ready to get you outfitted. As a man, I was disappointed that we only get 3 aisles which is about 15% of the store. Not a huge selection for us guys. It seems like a super big store, but as far as shoes go, I've seen bigger DSW's and competitors. Nonetheless, its way better than anything in the immediate vicinity unless you want to go farther out to Arundel Mills or other suburb shopping complexes. read more

I did not have a good experience at this DSW location. I received an email on 11/11 stating that my online order was available for pick up and needed to be picked up no later than 11/9 (obviously this is not the fault of this DSW in particular). However, when I received the email, I called the store to see if they could confirm that my order was available. I explained what happened to the employee that answered the phone and without getting any information from me, he said "oh, it'll still be here". I asked if I could give my order number to confirm but basically got the same answer and the call was ended. I arrived at the store that evening and decided to do curbside pick-up. Seemed simple enough... when I called the number listed on the sign in the parking spot, the employee answered, asked for my name and asked for the type/brand of shoe I was picking up. I asked if he wanted the order number and he said no...kind of weird but ok, I gave him the information that he asked for. After being placed on a series of holds, the same employee comes back and asks if I got a confirmation email that my order was ready, then proceeded to ask for my order number. We are now 10 minutes into this call. Back on hold I go. I wait another 8 minutes and decide to go into the store - there is no way this should be taking this long I think. When I get in line at check out, I'm told that they can't find my shoes, while in the same breath the man working the register says "next in line" without any suggestion as to what I'm supposed to do. This is where they earn a 2 star... A sweet sweet woman is working over at the online order pick up. She asks my name and within 60 seconds finds my order among hundreds of other orders. I am entirely unsure why it was so hard to find in the first place and why what could've been a 5 minute process cost me 30 minutes. 0 stars for the gentleman that began the process, 5 for the woman who ended it. The people are ok, but are seriously SLOW. I have never ever had a checkout take less than 10 minutes, even with only one person in front of me!!! And forget about ordering online. If you do that just forget about it.... they don't really know how to do it, and the management is usually hiding in the back trying not to help the cashier... what a mess... read more

Great selection at this location, although I think every DSW is overly overwhelming. Too much to take in and look through. You will usually find something , even if you aren't looking. The staff in this location is great. They greeted us upon arrival and followed up with us after a few minutes to make sure we were finding everything we needed. Which I like because customer service is definitely lacking in most places nowadays. It may be because of the location, either way I like it! Plenty to chose from, like most shoe warehouses. Take your time. The checkout process was easy. I like the fact that if you forget your coupon they can locate your account and verify if you have any on file, most stores don't have a system like that. It's always a good day when you can find cute, comfy shoes in your size and get a discount. They have other knick knacks, purses, leggings, glasses and other accessories. You can get distracted with all they have to offer. Stay focused!! read more

We went here after running some errands, and truth be told I did not even check in!! I was so enamored with the HUGE store, well lit and very neat. SO many shoes!!!!! I was trying things on in no time. The staff was very helpful, but not annoying. A nice lady brought Robin a big shoe bag over since I was told "we are not leaving here with just ONE pair of shoes" I ended up with three, and she ended up with one pair, and they are perfect, and were reasonably priced. No, they do not sell 600 dollar shoes, but they sell higher end shoes , made well............ names that are recognized as good quality shoes. Unlike other places that sell discount shoes, these shoes will last, and are SO comfortable. Dress up an outfit quite nicely. read more

I did not enjoy my experience here. First of all the parking is terrible. I had to wait ten minutes just to get a park at this location. The line is sooooooo long. It seemed as if everybody was doing an exchange and that took 2 minutes per customer. The Customer service was not the best. No one greeted me upon arrival or asked if I needed anything. This is the place where my family buys most of their shoes because the savings are incredible - particularly if you buy the stuff on sale and are a member of their loyalty club. Their online set-up is pretty good though you have to watch it as somethings are cheaper at the brick-and-mortar store. Returns are easy, service is friendly. Store is nice and big but they don't have a really good selection on shoes. I think it can be a little better. Other then that this place looks clean minus having boxes of shoes all over the damn place. Some of the spots had a lot of boxes. DSW = drop some wads. I find the store overrated and offering products at a price, well over market value (specifically for women's shoes). Men's shoes are actually really reasonable, so I am not sure where the large gap in price differentiation comes from? To each their own though, because the store is always flocking with individuals dropping some wads. read more

I ordered a shoe online, but it took a week and two days to arrived. By the time it arrived it was the wrong shoe size. Even the shoes I ordered after it came faster than this one. They made me anticipate for those wrong shoes. If it was the right shoe size I wouldn't mind, but no it was a whole different size. Now I have to wait another week for the shoes. I would have gotten them two weeks ago, but they packed the wrong shoe and made me wait a week and two days. I'm disappointed. read more

It's no wonder I never shop at this place. They do have a wide selection for men, women and children, just not my style of shoes. The styles of women's shoes that they did have I thought were pretty pricey. As a matter of fact I didn't see anything in there regularly priced less than 59.99. Anyway I had a DSW gift card from Christmas that I needed to use so I figured why not just see what's in here. Truth be told I didn't want to spend any of my own money on all white shoes that I was only going to wear to school. And to my surprise I was able to find a pair of white easy spirits for 49.99 (on sale) with another 40% off. Long story short I was able to find exactly what I was looking for and didn't have to come out of my pocket with much. However, I probably wouldn't return to shop at DSW. It's just not my style. The customer service was wonderful but given the location (Canton) I wouldn't expect anything less. Also note that this location did carry a decent selection of athletic/workout tennis shoes. But again, given the location and next door to a merit athletic club I wouldn't expect anything less. read more
