I was over in the area visiting my parents for Sunday brunch and had a really great shopping experience here. I first stopped at the local 12 Oaks Mall and the majority of the shoes that they have there are Nike brand. Not just one store but Foot Locker, Finish Line, Macys all Nike and a few other brands mixed in. I was looking for running shoes and Nikes running shoes are not for me. I stopped in and was greeted by the lovely Jess who went out of her way to check on me and talk to me several times before I made my purchase. She even offered to check online inventory if their was something I had an eye out for but didn't see it in stock. I was particularly impressed with her ability to explain what the soles on the bottom of the shoe are for and the difference between different running and terrain running shoes. In the end I went with a pair of Brooks running shoes and was very happy with the purchase and the price. It was the same price as Amazon so I was pleased with my purchase and Ashley at the register told us that there was a triple points coupon online that we wouldn't have known about otherwise to use on this purchase to get our rewards faster. read more

is so poorly managed. It's ridiculous. The line is 15 people deep. They have one cashier and then a half dozen other staff members aimlessly wandering around the floor. This is a good location! They typically have a nice variety of shoes and accessories. I like the stock they select on a regular basis. Now, for the holidays, they have a really adorable selection. They have a good stock of Ugg and Koolabura boots, some new ones I have never seen. They have ample Doc Marten boots and other similar products. They have the most adorable cozy slipper socks with popular characters like Spongbob and Baby Yoda. It was very hard not to overbuy since this season has so many great finds. My only disappointment on this trip was the lack of variety of Hunter boot products. I often find some fun colors and varieties, but since I shop DSW on a regular basis, I never know what will be in stock next time. read more

I had a very bad experience with one particular cashier the rest of the staff was a joy. The lady ringing me up was rude, disrespectful to her other staff especially to the managers, and kept asking them all for help. She made me feel stupid for asking questions about sales, I hope someone does something about this situation because I don't think I wanna come back to this store because of one employee. Guess I haven't reviewed this place yet. I prefer it a bit to the Troy location closer to me (not sure why ... I just do) and usually haven't had issues. I have a wide foot so it's really hard for me to find shoes. I love DSW though because I'm on its mailing list and always get $10 off coupons in the mail :). I couldn't find any shoes this time but ended up getting a pill box for $10 (final cost = free, for me). read more

Amazing! Its a girl's paradise! Soooo many shoes. If only i had more money and more closet space. I don't think my fiance would want me to add another shoe rack to a third door though. Found my shoes for my wedding and work shoes. Together they were under 80! The two sales girls who waited on me were very sweet and helpful too. They have brands such as Stride Rite and Chinese Laundry. Make sure you sign up for the discounts. The only pair in my size for my bridal shoes had a little bit of discoloration, so they are shipping another pair to my house with free shipping! A must shop here! read more

Having just purchased a custom tuxedo I've been looking everywhere for the right shoe for my wedding. I was never a fan of patent leather so I wanted something sleek with a sheen but handsomely simple. I looked all over the internet from Jonathon Lobb (Whoa! Expensive!) to Zappos and finally I found a couple designs that I liked. They had some Cole Haan plain toes for well over $100 less than even Zappos was offering them. I'm geeked. My only gripe is their line moves really slow at this store but beyond that the floor salespeople were helpful and offered me help more than once. read more

Sales staff is always friendly and helpful. I find the perfect pair of running shoes, but while I was hunting the young man stocking nearby checked on me and offered to order anything that wasn't in my size. Next visit, I brought two dresses I needed shoes for and was having a hard time. I found nude pumps with a sight blush hue and asked the sales woman for advice. I was concerned the shoes might be too tall for a country club brunch on mother's day. (I need this kind of help!) She asked me to hold the dress up and said she didn't think so, but to be aware of where the dress fell on my legs as the heels would lengthen them. Picked up pantyhose while I was here and had the perfect look. Bonus was I found one pair of shoes to go with both dresses! Also, I love their clearance jewelry. read more

Manager named Robert was "suppose" to be holding a pair of shoes. I gave him the correct upc number over the phone. He assured me they were the right ones. Said he was holding them. When I went to pick them up, they were the WRONG shoes! Then, I asked another employee where they were on the floor and she said "oh, let me just check the inventory, because you're not going to want to go over there, it's a mess of boxes, no we don't have any in our inventory." So I said, pls tell me where they are so I can go check for myself. BINGO! Went over to check for myself and there they were in my size very first box. To rely on 2 employees to do their job correctly was a huge mistake! Had to trust my own instincts and look for myself. Found the shoes that 2 employees couldn't!!! Horribly run store by manager Robert and employees. Such a disaster. Will not be shopping at this location again. Beware!!!! Very poor customer service. read more

I really like this store for buying shoes and hand bags. Like Kevin has said, the customer service isn't the absolute best but it really is kind of a "help yourself" kind of store. Whenever I'm in need of some shoes I come here and am always able to find exactly what I'm looking for, and I think everything is organized well also. The clearance that they have there is also pretty large, and you are almost guaranteed to always get a good deal. read more

So disappointed with the service, I was asking the cashier if she could check a couple of sizes for me and I can see how irritated she is. She did help me but the whole time I felt like I was asking her such a huge favor and continuously sigh in front of me. I left embarrassed for asking help. I bought the 2 items but the whole time I was standing in front of her I just wanna leave. Don't waste your time, management and customer service here is rookie at best. My background includes 10 years of retail management, 8 years of sercuity and crowd control, and a 4 year degree in business management. I am not anaware of retail issues. My mistake is that I somehow beleived that a national shoe chain hires anything for running it's stores that would approach professional. I am a 50 year old male that somehow expected reasonable equal treatment in this bastion of unequal treatment. I decided to shop for a new pair of work shoes while my wife shopped next door at a childrens party supply shop. I selected a pair of shoes and entered the cashier line following a woman into line. She was second in line making me third in line at a particular register. The "manager"Cheyrl then approached me to please enter another line that several women had created, bear in mind there is no sign, turn style or numbered ticket to receive service. I mistakenly complied thinking that there was an official posted system. My second mistake. The other customer that i followed into line was not asked to enter this unofficial line, just me. I guess being the only male in the store makes you automatically encroaching on the female territory. The first thing that any business law class teaches you is that you must treat all customers fairly and equally. Not only is this good business practice, it's the law. If you ask me to do something, you must apply the decision to all. If the customers complain about "violating" their self imposed rule and you decide to enforce it, you must enforce it across the board Obviously, I as a male had invaded their domain. The second in line customer who was both female and minority was not even approached. I can see where the store's priorities lie. Men avoid this store like the plaque, women I would recommend this to you as well, it's a slippery slope, allow businesses to discriminate and we all eventually become victims of restrictive and arbitrary policies. It is not worth the $5 or $6 dollars in savings to patronize a business that mistreats certain customers based on whims. Boycott this unprofessionally run store and patronize retailers that follow the rules. read more
