The store was similar to the one in Austin but maybe a bit more of a selection. Right away I found alligator boots that are just amazing looking. The person helping us was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the boots. Unlike the other store I first visited, here they also had other clothing and in particular, their jeans. The jeans look nice enough to wear with a jacket for a nice event, but they also have casual jeans. I know these boots are a bit expensive, but they are never going to go out of style and they will last a lifetime. They have so many amazing looks with their boots so I know I will be back for another pair.

The kind staff member was able to look up the same pair and size that my fiancé purchased a year ago and brought them out in no time. He recommended that my fiancé still try them on in case the fit of the boot had been updated in the year since his last purchase to make sure he still liked said boots before purchasing them. Apparently they are all cobbled by shoe elves, on site, and you can even book factory tours. The place looks like an Old Timey Costco-esque General Store. It's quite large! They offer other items besides shoes here as well. Toys, clothing, candles, jams, jellies, syrups and snacks. They have little baskets filled with different candy, that you can then fill up a bucket with, for a set price. There are employees walking around, waiting to assist you. They also have a collection of vintage automobiles scattered about the property that you can admire. My favorite part was the .25 cent fountain Coke, and the .5 cent bag of popcorn, which is seasoned to perfection. It seems a lot of people come for that experience alone. That was my reason for coming, thanks to the countless videos I have seen on TikTok and IG. Overall, this is a pretty cool place to come and experience firsthand. It's definitely a destination place though, because it is a little off the beaten path. We actually drove about 25 minutes from where we live. But, it was a fun experience. I forgot to mention that they also have an ice cream counter inside, but it was closed the day we went. I will definitely come back for the Coke and popcorn though, and hopefully some ice cream.

I've always found their shoes to be comfortable from the very start and don't require any breaking in period. They stand behind their products too - I once bought a pair of shoes on sale, didn't wear them for a year and when I finally pulled them out of the closet to use they had a defect - they still took them back! Also had a sports jacket that after wearing it once I wasn't happy with the fit. I mentioned I was disappointed to a clerk a couple months later and they weren't able to return it for me but they did exchange it with a different size that was still in stock at another location - it was mailed to me at no additional charge. Not a big fan of their socks but if they're on sale I might pick up a few playful designs. Belts are great but never pay full price - it's an item that's pretty much guaranteed to go on sale. I am a passionate Johnston&Murphy Customer and have always had good experiences with them until recently! The pair of shoes I wanted to buy were not available in the store, Lacantera Shopping Mall, San Antonio, Texas! The associate stated, no problem, we can order them for you and mail them to your home no later than September 18th, 2020. Well, September 18, 2020 has passed and no word from Johnston&Murphy! Finally, I called the 800 number today, September 21, and they stated the following: First they said they had some proof of payment issues, well, that's impossible, because I paid for them on my debit card; secondly, they called me back again, after the first Johnston&Murphy Associate hung up on me; and the second associate stated the shoes will be mailed to name in 3-5 business days; 10 minutes later received another call from same Johnston&Murphy Associated stating the shoes are no longer available so we're gonna to credit your debit card account! And, I stated, WOW, it took from Aug 7th to Sep 20 to come up with this conclusion! How incompetent! The sad thing is no one bothered to contact me, at all, to inform me of the status of the backorder of the shoe purchase! Finally, beware of ordering anything from Johnston&Murphy, especially, if not available in store and they indicate we can mail the shoes to your home. The issue with this, Johnston&Murphy never attempted to contact me to give update on backorder; secondly, they gave me 3 different bogus reasons as to why I hadn't received the backorder! I will no longer be ordering anything from Johnston&Murphy moving forward. If the item is not in the store, don't order it, based on this experience! Johnston&Murphy, you need to step up your "Customer Service Orientation" Process and be true to it!
