DSW has a great selection of shoes of all types. The problem I have with them is my size is average. Since average sizes turn over more quickly than very large for very small shoes, they are often out of my size in the styles I like. I'm disappointed in the selection available in my size. Also, they are generally more expensive than other shoe outlets or Amazon. I hate to admit it, but I've found shoes I like at DSW, but they don't have them in my size. In one case I was able to get the same shoe for 25% less on Amazon with next day delivery. read more

Worst customer service ever. Just came to return a pair of shoes and showed the cashier the two receipts I have, and she said neither of these receipts are for this shoe. Then why the heck did the previous cashier give me the wrong receipts in the first place, and how is that my fault? Can't get my money back without the right receipts, which apparently I wasn't given in the first place, and so now I have $67 of stupid store credit. They need better training for cashiers to make sure they give the correct receipts. They also need better customer service. Taking my store credit to somewhere that isn't Schaumburg DSW. I went to DSW because I got a birthday coupon for $5.00 off any purchase. I'm a sucker for a deal. I specifically came looking for shoe laces. After not finding them the first time, I asked an employee for help. I had to ask two people for help before I found them. I was disappointed at the selection available. I was able to get three pairs of shoe laces for about $7.00. I almost feel forced to recommend them because they are one of the only physical shoe stores around, and I like trying on shoes before I buy them. It's DSW, so obviously the selection is massive! It can be quite overwhelming if you don't know what you're looking for, so it was a good think I had a game plan before arriving. I was in search of a "dressy, stylish, yet comfortable" walking shoe that would match all my outfits for a summer trip. As usual, DWS delivered! The staff here is super nice and helpful, they didn't have my size on the floor and they were able to locate it in the back room. When I went to checkout and told them my hesitancy about buying shoes in Illinois when I was from NY, they were immediately understanding and called the NYC store and helped secure a pair of shoes back home for me! I'm an elite VIP for dsw. Was quite disappointed today. I bought two pairs of sandals on line. One was defective. I went to dsw in Schaumburg. They said I couldn't exchange it because it was bought on line. I told her it was not my fault and I was not asking for refund. So I had to return them but she wouldn't let me exchange. I was disappointed. I buy shoes all the time from DSW I don't think that was right I could not exchange a defective pair. I'm so mad at DSW! Why did you guys send me a "$20 off $49 and up" coupon to my house when I knew I didn't need shoes at all? Certainly the DSW coupon strategies worked because I was at one of their locations outside the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg. Honestly, I can find a million of cute things at most of the DSW locations, yet I need to have self-control and spend my money on the necessities. I guess I can use a pair of black boots since mine has worn out and heels have begun to peel off. I was browsing through the clearance section for a bit. I couldn't commit to purchasing anything today, but it didn't mean that I wouldn't at a later time. Spending some of my pay checks annually at DSW is definitely happening, especially when I knew majority of the shoes I owned came from this little devil warehouse. It's a shoe store. But, it's pretty huge compared to stores you would see in the mall. They carry a wide variety of shoe brands, and, they also carry some other items like purses, bags, and random accessories. Prices are pretty normal, and, they often have sales or deals. I went back to see if they had a 9. I've never worn a 9, and figured they would be too small, but, figured I'd try them on and see. Sadly, they didn't have any 9's available. So, I returned my 9.5's. Easy process, no questions asked. Staff is very friendly. Some staff is walking around the isles, helping people. They aren't over bearing, but, did come up and ask if I needed any help or suggestions. Very friendly and helpful people. Checkout counter employees were also very pleasant to deal with. This is a good DSW location in that it's not located right in the mall but on the outskirts of the mall parking lot. This allows for more parking and it being a little less busy then venturing into the mall. Workers are always helpful and nice here. You can find great shoe bargains! I'm giving this three stars but this is mostly due to the fact that I suck at life when it comes to shoe shopping. I'm at an age when certain shoes and heel heights are no longer acceptable, and in an effort to try and save money I like to be able to wear my shoes at work and at play. On the plus side DSW has a ton of shoes, and there is admittedly something for everyone (except me). I have an uncanny ability to only like shoes that cost north of $300. My husband LOVES that :) I don't know how often they bring in new merchandise because I don't go in there often enough. The store is really neat and tidy considering there are hordes of women in there trying on shoes. Shoes are arranged by style, and it is relatively painless to find the type of shoe you need. Hey are arranged by size and are organized. 30% 40% 50% or 60% off the price on the sticker. My shoes were about $5-$10 cheaper than the store. For those who think they are lying about their prices they are not. DSW is the real thing. Their selection is a little low on brands. My method to success here is this: Walk in, and head straight to the back wall. Find your size area and see if you can uncover some outstanding bargain. That my friends, is the clearance area, and it is good. The rest of the store is organized by style, and then by color. This is like the original DSW (at least in this area)... This is one of the larger ones. Very big. Nice long aisles. They've usually got fairly good stock, and you have to hit-up the clearance racks in back!! They've got little seats, footies if you don't have socks on, and there's usually employees walking around in case you need something. I think this is a great store! It's usually hit or miss with me though: there's days where I end up wanting like 7 pairs of shoes, and days when I can't find even one.
