This week I bought pickled onions from the kindest gentleman. And two small loafs of sourdough bread. Oh and I bought a dozen organic eggs from a sweet lady. I never know what I'll find here as some vendors come and go, but I sure appreciate so many showing up each time. The fresh market also has food vendors which is great if you go around lunch time. The event runs from 10-2. It's a perfect opportunity to support small businesses and get the family out to enjoy open air.

We showed up around 11am on an empty stomach and enjoyed a few treats and took home local aged cheddar, peach & habenero jelly, and a rum cake. The chicken & vegetable dumplings from the Thai food stand was our fave. Along with the $1 lumpia. Finally got to try a lobster roll made from Maine lobsters too. Pricey but it was bread stuff with fresh lobster. Highly recommend checking out the cheese lodge tent. She's 3rd generation cheese monger as she calls herself and ages her own cheese and she gave us a sample of a cheddar she had been aging and it was SO GOOD I took home a block. However from what I have heard, this market used to be more exciting and upbeat. It sounds like there is a need for help to keep the market, and the farm running. I mean, not that there's anything wrong with this market, but I would likely not visit it, if it were not for the fact that it's about a 7 minute walk from my front door. These farmers markets have really blown up over the last couple of years, and it's great. Tons of vendors that don't have the ability to own a brick and mortar store front are provided a means for operating their business. They're essentially traveling gypsy's that happen to sell soap, produce, or various pet merchandise that's not needed, but so darn cute. As for North Tampa Market in particular, it comes with all the typical fixins'. I do wish there were more places to sit and eat, as the ratio of food and people : seating is quite skewed. Also, the market is heavy on the dirt and mud, which also brings more bugs when you do finally find a place to sit and indulge. That being said, the market is fun place for us to hang out on the 2nd Saturday of every month from 10-2 :) I especially enjoy the calming melodies of the musician, as I enjoy my grilled cheese sandwich, kombucha, and banana bread.

It's Pasco County & many I've seen at this market are maskless. If you are super worried about Covid, you may want to skip this market. Vegan, organic, keto, & Gluten-free items are available every Saturday. Jewelry, art, facemasks, produce, meat, cheese, crafts, honey, cooked foods, & many other wares can be found here. Each vendor I've met accepts cash, credit, & debit cards. (You can even order full animals: beef, duck, rabbit, lamb, goat, hog, gator, & quail.) They take orders & even offer local delivery for just $5. (Within a few weeks, they will relocate to the Evolove Event Center in Lutz, but hope to continue @ this Saturday market.) And Sheri of SHERI'S BEADS AND BAUBLES offers "handcrafted necklaces, bracelets, earrings, & other semi precious beaded items." Her creations are of excellent quality, her prices are fair, & she will gladly take orders-- See pic. (I'm placing a special order tonight.) This is obviously not a large market, but I've been very satisfied w/ the friendly & talented vendors here on Saturday. Prices are generally BETTER than @ all the markets I've frequented in Florida. The only reason it's not a 5-star market (for me) is because the weekly vendor count is limited.
