I got a tattoo from Kevin here at the start of my stay in Dublin. It hurt like hell, but I choose inner arm. He was exceptionally kind and we talked American politics and video games, which was very fun and helped a lot with the pain. I am extremely happy with my tattoo. The studio itself was small and crowded since many great artists work here. I'm not a huge fan of that crowds but it never hindered the tattoo experience and it seemed very sanitary. If I lived in Dublin so would come back! read more

Un. Freaking. Believable. My experience here was absolutely unprecedented. I'm from the States, and I knew when I started booking my vacation to Ireland (my first time ever overseas!) that I wanted a tattoo to commemorate what I expected to be a life-changing experience. I'm so glad I chose Dublin Ink to be a part of that trip!!! I had sent my reference material (which included Irish text) months in advance. Upon my arrival for my appointment, Dani talked to me about the text I'd chosen and let me know that, grammatically, it didn't make sense in the original language. She was so sweet and polite and even wrote out a list of alternatives for me, one of which I fell in love with and ended up using. She handles piercings and was being so kind to her clients, and in between doing her actual job, she was helping me with something she could easily have just ignored. She was so unbelievably sweet and I will always remember the contribution she made to my newest body art. As a note on that fact, I know a lot of people would be pissed or annoyed at that, but that behavior is the sign of a high quality shop. If they tell you your idea needs some revising, it's because they don't want to stick you with poor work. Dani and Wagner wanted me to be informed going into my appointment, and you should ALWAYS be grateful for that sort of honesty and assistance. Would you ever want someone to slap something on you knowing it was wrong, grammatically incorrect, or poorly designed? Wagner was very kind and courteous and I have to say, I am in awe every day since my appointment to have his work under my skin. Amazing linework, smooth shading, vivid color... What more could you ask for? I am fortunate to be able to sport his work for the rest of my days. Dublin Ink, you guys are tops. Recently got my second tattoo in Dublin Ink: I was tattooed by Kevin McNamara. Before reaching the parlour, I had decided on a particular font for my tattoo, and Kevin very quickly informed me that he needed to make some slight alterations in the style of the font, so as to ensure it looked neat. Once the font was tidied up, he applied the stencil. He was very kind and gentle. The tattoo itself was not nearly as sore as my first, and I put it down to his skill with a needle. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking to get their first tattoo. My tattoo was 80.00, and it was absolutely worth it for the service received. The lady on reception is also extremely approachable and automatically makes you feel comfortable with her warmth and genuine smile. She applied my bandage afterward, and I was delighted to note, I didn't need to remove the bandage for 5-6 days, meaning I could carry on as normal and not fret about changing bandages etc in the morning or at night time. As a person who struggled to ensure my first tattoo healed well, this was a complete God send! All in all, a great parlour, and as I said above, would recommend to anyone getting their first tattoo. read more

Not impressed. We searched for a tattoo shop that had the best reviews and this was it. We went to Dublin for our wedding and wanted a small tattoo to remember our big day. Both of us are heavily tattooed but were all covered up due to the weather. We walked in and talked to the girl at the desk about our idea and she treated us like we were just some dumb tourists that got married on whim and wanted our first tattoo. We don't give up body space to crap artists and always do our research. So it was a blessing in disguise that we didn't get any work done here. Thanks for allowing us to save the space for real artists. Maybe you should treat your potential clients with a bit more respect when they walk through your doors. read more

Would have loved to give this place a good review but after being forgotten in their waiting area for over an hour I am sorry to say I'm not impressed. How someone can be forgotten for that long in that small of an area is beyond me. I was only going in for two dermal removals which in the end took 2 minutes... So maybe they don't value their customers who aren't getting a sleeve or major piercing done. I would have given zero stars but the girl Dani was really nice. Word of advice to the staff sitting at the front: Make sure you know what everyone in your shop is there for, especially the people waiting. --- Good to be informed from the owner that the reason for being forgotten was due to the fact that we are all just human and I should have reminded the staff sitting at the front that I had been waiting...must have been wearing my invisable cloak that day! read more

I was vacationing in Dublin with my family this January and my sister and I decided, somewhat impulsively, to get tattoos during our stay. Neither of us had ever been tattooed, so we were a little bit nervous. After checking out several Dublin tattoo parlors based on recommendations from locals, Dublin Ink was the last place I visited. The staff was young, friendly and totally laid back; the atmosphere was inviting and fun; and the place was sterile, well-lit and comfortable. Dublin Ink was able to make us an appointment for the next day, and we got tattooed by Raquel, who was supportive of us newbies, friendly, professional and thorough. Loved these guys the moment I walked in the shop! Professional yet fun. Made me feel welcome in the shop and the country. All love. Set an appointment within 2 days of my arrival. and they hooked it up! When I think of Dublin Ink, I think of perhaps the only truly spontaneous thing I have ever done. It could equally be the most stupid and typically American: I got a tattoo of a four leaf clover during St Pattys. My best friend Bev M was traveling with me and she is Irish, and she added her clover to her full sleeve. I, on the other hand, just wanted to commemorate a trip around Europe with my best friend. So yeah. I did that. The shop itself is immaculate and bright, as a tattoo shop should be. Seeing as I already have a full backpiece, this one was a piece of cake. I came here for my second tattoo and after it was over my mind was already made up for any future tattoo needs. I will be coming back to Dublin Ink and Dublin Ink only! I went in for a back piece and was there for about 3.5 hours, and let me say I work in hospitality and customer service is a huge deal to me, and for those three hours I experienced some of the best customer service from the team I've ever had. Feca was the artist I chose after falling in love with her work, and she nailed it. Her work is out of this world, and I have to go back again soon. Cant say enough great things about her. And to add on to all this, the studio is extremely clean and well lit. They take a clear pride in their art. read more

I always go here to get all of my piercings from Dani and I've never had any problems at all. Dani really knows her stuff and is always ridiculously nice and welcoming. The lads are always a pleasure too, there's never much of a wait to get seen to and the pricing is reasonable. I wish I could give this place more than five stars. My roommate and I were traveling to Dublin from the States and we stumbled upon this place for tattoos. Where to begin...the staff was all really friendly and very funny. Our tattoo artist was PHENOMENAL. Not only did he do a fantastic job on our tattoos, but he kept us laughing the whole time. Got an absolutely beautiful tattoo by Daniel Flower. His work is amazing and I would highly recommend him. The reason I'm not giving a five star review is that my husband and I had contacted them a month prior to traveling to Ireland and we had sent them pics of what we had wanted and didn't hear back from them about setting an appointment and deposit..luckily, we found them on the last day of our trip and they were able to do my tattoo but not his...they did offer to do a smaller tattoo for him, the one he wanted would've taken a long time to do due to how much detail was involved...which was a little upsetting, but I was very happy with mine..Daniel stayed after hours to finish it and it was gorgeous : ) read more

I'm from the states and I am currently on a trip overseas to Ireland for a study abroad program. this trip has truly changed my life and I wanted to get a tattoo to commemorate my time here. it's a small piece that I've wanted for a while, and I was going to wait until I got home to get it. however, we walked past Dublin ink and I felt drawn to it for whatever reason. I went in on a whim and asked for their availability. they had a last minute cancellation that day, which was the only time left open before my departure. I took it immediately and I'm so happy I did. Norbert did such an amazing job and made me feel absolutely confident in the sterility of his work. After spontaneously getting my first tattoo at Connected Ink, which they really screwed me on, I went into Dublin Ink for a 2nd opinion on what the tools at Connected had done. It was a simple shamrock, but they refused to fill it in - leaving me with an outline and some dark green shading. The guys at Dublin Ink really seemed to want to help me out, and they scheduled me to get it fixed up a couple days later. It's still healing, but it looks soooo much better. I just wish I had found Dublin Ink first! read more

I've been meaning to get around to writing a review for Dublin Ink for a while. I got a rook piercing (a cartilage piercing) here about a year ago and I took care of it as I was instructed. I've had quite a few piercings so I'm no stranger to the aftercare part. What can I say? It seemed like there was constantly something wrong with it and it didn't appear to be healed after six months. Eventually I consulted someone with a lot of piercing experience and who had a lot of recommendations. Apparently the piercer in Dublin Ink had cracked my cartilage when they pierced it. And that it would have gone on getting more painful as time went on. So, I can't claim that Dublin Ink did a particularly good job on me. I will avoid here if I want to get any other piercings. read more

Dublin Ink has great people and does great Ink work. David was my artist, he did a fantastico job (twice). The atmosphere was excellent and right on. They are also very helpful and give advice. Not being a local, I did visit more than one studio, though I felt so comfortable and relaxed there, that was the place for me. I say.... like a good doctor visit, but way better. So if you are near, or looking to follow my advice, drop on in and expierence the Ink, you will have something forever to last. My friend and I wanted to get a tattoo to remember our trip. Someone local recommended Dublin Ink to us when we were asking around. Their website said they closed at 8:00 but when we got there at 7:00 they told us they were closing. Since it was our last night and we had an early flight, we convinced them to do small pieces for us. Kevin wasn't overly excited to stay late, but he was really nice about it and the other guys stayed and hung out with us too. They were all really cool and we are delighted with our inked mementos. I had Dublin Ink in mind for what would be my second tattoo, and if I was to be honest I greatly disliked the attitude given off by the staff. The atmosphere was rather relaxed, and the staff quite friendly, however, I had an idea(no image) of what I wanted done, and where I wanted it done(I will exclude names of the staff I spoke with). This was essentially cast to one side and they brought out a design they had ready made, about 4 times the size I asked for and said, "Right so we'll do this one, and put it here, because there isn't enough room where you want it". I tried to explain that the transfer they had was far too big for what I was looking for, and the centre of the chest really didn't appeal to me(I had initially said I wanted left pec). My input was yet again shot down in patrony. I have no doubt that every artist within the shop is superbly talented, but they seem to be riding off an ego that they are the best, and as such don't need your service so they will do what they want or you can find someone else. Now IMO a tattoo should be the what the 'wearer' asks for, and the artists interpretation, these guys seem to take it as 100% their responsibility. So if you're a first timer who isn't really sure what you want this is the place to go. If you know what you want, I would suggest looking elsewhere, that being said, this was simply the experience I had, and it may differ entirely from another's perspective. read more

I went with my older sister and my aunt to get there tattoos while visiting from New York and I enjoyed the experience. It is very clean and modern and outside there is a sitting area which I'm sure that comes in handy waiting for someone getting a big tattoo done. The artist that did my sister and the artist that did my aunt both where foreign and didn't speak english so it was kind of difficult to talk to them and tell them want you wanted and where. The guy at the register was very cute and charming which was a plus. The only downside was the price. It was 80 euro for my sisters very tiny astrology sign and also 80 euro for the name my aunt got tattooed on her wrist. Back in New York that would be around $40/50. But I guess the price is worth it knowing the place is safe and clean. read more

I walk in off the street today to get some laser done on a different old tattoo I want removed and Kev the guy that tattooed me 3 years ago greets me by name like it was yesterday when we last met. Have to say the lads are all sound. Got laser removal done right then and there by Matt who killed me but "no pain no gain". By the way it's usually appointment only, I got lucky with a cancellation. AND on top of all that I got some savage ideas off Norbi for the cover up. Wouldn't go anywhere else for my tattoo needs. read more

Hey guys don't usually do this but my experience was so bad I need to share! I've a few tattoos on my right arm I've wanted to combine into a sleeve. Today I went in to Dublin Ink as they told me consultations were done on walk in basis. As I walked in a guy and a girl we're sitting at the desk looking at computer screens I approached the desk and eventually the guy looked up and said "yea?". I explained I was looking to chat to someone about starting my sleeve, he couldn't have seemed less interested!! He asked what I wanted and I explained I had some things in mind but was open to what the artist thought. I then said I wanted as much of it done for May as possible, to which he said "oh no that's impossible, we couldn't START a sleeve till July"!!!! I repeated what he said back to him and again he said yea that's right couldn't start a sleeve till July!!!! Dublin Ink must be doing very well that they can refuse work till July and seem so disinterested In potential clients. Complete and utter disgrace!! I also put this review on their Facebook page but it was removed and nobody has contacted me from the company. Says it all really, AVOID!!! read more

I came here for my first tattoo and wouldn't recommend any other places but Dublin Ink! They were very professional and patience with our questions, knowing that my friend and I were inexperienced. I wanted a heartbeat tattoo with texts at the end of the line but they strongly suggested not to as they would look like scribble, which I am super glad that I did listen to them. After my tattoo was done, they applied a super thin film on top of it to ease the healing process. Contrary to what my online researches have shown, I didn't have any itchiness or even redness after a few hours. There wasnt any after care that i needed to worry about. Would definitely go back for my next tattoos in few months! read more

I had my conch piercing done here just a couple of days ago. It was all done in under 5 minutes - filling in the questionnaire and being pierced. It didn't hurt at all and the girl who did the piercing was really friendly as I'm kind of nervous around needles. I hope the piercing will heal as quickly as it was pierced :) I would go there again especially as the price is more than okay: 30 euro for piercing and jewellery and another 10 euro for after care spray! read more

recently tattooed here by a guest artist named Adrian. everyone who worked at the store - down to the guys at reception and even the other artists who weren't involved in my tattoo - were so, so lovely. professional, super friendly and funny, interested and helpful. the tattoo itself is absolutely stunning and everything i could have wanted and more. the colours are absolutely stunning, the design is beautiful and the artist really looked after me during the whole process as it was quite a lengthy session (five and a half hours). the shop is pristine, and all of the artists are incredibly conscious about hygiene which is great. the studio has also been absolutely incredible during the aftercare process, they were so helpful in changing my saniderm when needed and generally just being great and very helpful. definitely the best tattoo studio in dublin with the best staff. totally recommend. read more

I provided Dublin Ink with a 50 euro deposit for a tattoo I wanted done. I made the deposit weeks in advance and was asked by Dublin Ink to send pictures and a description of what type of work I wanted done. I provided all this information the day I made the deposit. They had over three weeks to prepare a rough draft for my approval before work was to begin. I provided the size, shape, color and design details of the tattoo I was looking to get weeks ahead of time. Upon my arrival I was told no rough draft had been drawn up and the art work I was looking for could not be performed. I was offered a simplistic alternative and asked to come back in an hour. I decided against returning after I was insulted and told I appeared to be drunk or hungover, which I was not. By providing Dublin Ink a deposit, I expected at the very least they would read my emails and review the pictures I had sent them for review prior to my arrival. Dublin Ink wasted my time and insulted me.They should be ashamed of the way they conduct business. If you are incapable of creating tattoos requested and are only able to make outlines of pictures found on Google, you probably shouldn't be in the tattoo business. Lastly, if you look around it seems that a majority of the negative reviews are from those vacationing from America. I have a feeling Dublin Ink thinks all American's are plastic paddy's and therefore unworthy of having ink done in their shop. Two thumbs down. read more

I got my rook pierced about a week ago, and it went really well. The piercer was very sweet, but definitely rushed the process which I wasn't expecting. As someone coming into a new shop for the first time, I expected more of a conversation about their methods of sanitization, and explaining some frequently asked questions. I thought it was a little ridiculous that I had to ask what metal the jewelry was before I got pierced, because otherwise she wouldn't have told me what she was putting in my body. The place is very clean, you can tell that from the get-go, but still...But overall she was very good, and answered all of my questions even thought it seemed like she was in a rush. I went in two days because my top ball fell off and she was very helpful and put one back on with no issues, and no extra cost. All in all, very good, just make sure you do your own research and ask all the questions you need to before she starts on you. read more

I booked my tattoo in Dublin ink last week and got it done by Kevin yesterday. It was my first tattoo and I have to say my experience was absolutely brilliant. From the moment I walked in I felt so welcome. The girl behind the desk was very approachable. All the staff seemed extremely friendly too. The artist doing my tattoo completely calmed my nerves , he assured me that I I had any questions or anything that I could ask online or in the shop. It was all very clean and done very efficiently . Had VERY bad experience and will not be returning. Had some writing applied-when I asked for a certain artist I was told that he could not do it and another 'amazing' artist could apply it. Made a total mess of it-when I returned a few weeks later to try to get it fixed in some way the guys laughed and said 'where did you get that done!' I then told them that it had been done there-turns out the chap who did it was a trainee. If it had not had not been fixed I would have taken it further. read more
