Being woken up by police to be evacuated from our rv due to a police incident in the trailer behind us

Honestly this is the worst experience I've ever had at a campground. The staff was rude, unprofessional, unorganized, and fairly useless in their roles. The sites that they advertise on their website are only for short term stays, and if you stay for more than a week or two they put you in a spot so small that we could not put out our awning. The neighbors sewer hookup is in front of your door less than 3 feet from the end of your steps. They sprayed for bugs with a truck at 930 at night while everyone was sitting around their fires. In the three weeks we stayed here we were also evacuated from our camper due to a police incident in the middle of the night. There is also very little cell service at the campground , the paid wifi they offer is marginal at best as well. On the weekends the drunks from the seasonal side ride their golf carts around and almost hit my truck several times. They advertise a dog run , which is just a golf cart path that runs along the driveway, there is no off leash area. Also we found out that the three long term campers that were staying at this park were all paying different amounts as well for the same site. Campers beware of this place

    Bayshore Campground - So cool!

Here's the deal... I usually don't like to write reviews about campgrounds I enjoy, because I don't…read morewant them to become too popular (got to keep a few secrets to myself!) That being said, we really love this campground, and I wanted to give them a well-deserved shout-out. We first visited in early November and liked it so much that we went back two weeks later. I was honestly surprised by some reviews claiming the owners are money-hungry or rip people off, because that was the complete opposite of our experience. We were originally supposed to stay there in October, but we had an accident that damaged our truck on the day of arrival. I called the resort to cancel and even told them I'd understand if they still needed to charge me due to the short notice. Instead, they gave us a credit for our next stay, which was wonderful and much appreciated. If you're looking for a campground loaded with frills, this isn't it. What you do get are beautiful sites, including the pull-throughs we stayed in that offer direct views of the Chesapeake Bay and some amazing sunsets. Sites include electric and water but no sewer; however, they provide septic carts and several dump stations, similar to many state parks. They also have fire rings and picnic tables, which should be standard everywhere in my opinion. Other than that, it's simply a quiet, relaxed, and scenic campground. My only wish is that WiFi were free, since it is at many other campgrounds. We found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. The camp store has a solid selection of necessities, and the prices were not unreasonable. Given its proximity to Rock Hall (which is an amazing little town), Chestertown, and the Bay, this is definitely going to be one of our regular camping spots. We're already planning several trips for next year.

This would be a 5 star review for sure if the WiFi coverage was better, if there was sewer at the sites, if the bathrooms were open. They made it clear that these things were not included, so it was not a surprise and they do have portable restrooms around. One more portable in the middle of the B-site area would be good. Overall this place is great and we will be returning. Already booked as a matter of fact :)

Thomas Point Park in Annapolis is a county park that offers beautiful views of the Thomas Point Lighthouse, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and the bay in general. There is a pavilion that can be rented and a day camping area but I believe what makes this park so popular in the summer months is that its a good fishing spot. As the name implies, the park is on a point of land that jets out into the bay offering great views of the water year round. From November through March visitors can drive into the park without paying a fee. But if you are wanting to drive into the park April though October then you need to obtain a permit and I think they can be a bit tricky to come by. Permits are sold at Quiet Waters Park and sold on a limited first come, first served basis. A limited number of daily permits are sold each morning and a total of 75 monthly permits are sold each month on the last Thursday of the prior month. So yeah, a little tricky but its understandable that admission to this small park, which is accessible through a residential neighborhood, needs to be limited.
