Eye doctors used to be that for me, but after my experience with Grove Eye Care, I feel much more confident and relaxed. I had my first visit back in 2023. I was looking to start wearing contacts and to get a new glasses prescription. Booking an appointment was easy. My first visit is a bit of a blur since it's been over a year, but I did have main takeaways. Whoever it was that guided me in how to put on contacts was the kindest and most encouraging person I've met. In my experience, a lot of eye doctor visits have involved inpatient people (I can understand because I would feel inpatient hearing the same six letters over and over again). I did not feel this way with my contact teacher. She was there to support me and made me feel welcome. I highly recommend getting contacts here. The contact experience involves getting the right prescription for you with a doctor, learning how to put them on, getting trials for a week, then returning to see if you'd like to order them. I have VSP which helped with the cost and have enjoyed the Bausch and Lomb Infuse 1-Day contacts. As for eye exams themselves, on an annual check-up this week, I did have a more impatient examiner, who didn't really explain all the machines to me which I didn't mind as much because I felt more confident, but had wished she told me when bright lights were flashing. They have a machine you can pay extra for so you don't need to get your eyes dilated which is nice. My first examiner in 2023 did explain everything. I think you just need to ask. My doctor is Dr. Schwartz. She helped me with my contact journey as well as treating headaches and dry eyes. She's very direct and to the point and can answer any questions you may have. I've enjoyed having her as my doctor. During my visit this week, I explored possibly purchasing new glasses/lenses at the shop section. It was a bit out of my price range, but do know you can get your prescription for free and if you need the distance of your eyes it's a $10 charge. If you're feeling uneasy about eye doctors, this is a great place to feel more confident and comfortable with them. The parking is easy here with a lot out front. It's near Carytown. And there is a gender neutral single stall for bathrooms. I highly recommend.

The glasses were ready a week later. Only thing I'd do differently is go in network the next time. They weren't part of my eye insurance plan, and my provider only partially reimbursed me for the purchase when I could've gotten the glasses for free elsewhere. I'd say visit this location if you're looking for quality and personal care -- and you're nearby. It's not the most cost-effective option for me, so I probably won't be back -- but it's a nice place nonetheless. It's located on the ground floor of the West Tower, to the left past the BB&T branch and behind the parking garage elevators.

She looked at glasses I currently wore and confirmed that I wanted bifocals again. When I went to pick frames the one I chose the employee stated with my new RX it woukd make lenses very thick and heavy so i chose another pair. When i recieved my glasses they were had only rx for nearsightedness with no bifocal. I inquired and was told thats what i requested. I spoke to office personal on 2 occasions with no help. The RX clearly states Multi-focal. Why woukd i change up my choice knowing i needed bifocals. I am now stuck with a pair of glasses that are worthless to me. Insurance paid $413.00 for them to sit in drawer usless. I believe when the employee assisted me getting a more suitable pair she got sidetracked. I will never return to MyEyeDr as i feel that should have redone them as RX stated multi-focal and was confirmed with Dr. Very disappointed waste time, money and gas getting glasses i cannot use. I would have continued to be a customer but because of this i will seek my eye care elsewhere.

THCA is a natural cannabinoid found in hemp and cannabis plants that turns into THC when it's heated. So it's not Delta-8 or lab-made -- it's simply unheated hemp flower that's legally compliant because it tests under 0.3% Delta-9 THC before it's smoked. Once heated, it behaves like regular cannabis. Everyone had a really great time picking their colors and doing the glass blowing. The pumpkins came out really great and the pickup process was super easy! My one complaint would be that we were such a large group (we had 2 groups back to back) and I was in the 2nd group- you could tell the staff got tired (very understandable since they had to make 20+ pumpkins) and they didn't do a great job explaining the process ahead of time. On the upside, they were great about talking you through it in the moment. It was pretty dummy proof since the staff did most of the process for you, I don't think I can say I actually did "glass blowing" which I think is fine. Overall, would recommend this for events (but maybe smaller groups) and the staff is really skilled. They have a shop up front which I would recommend checking out!
