I met Loggia and she listened to what I wanted, made her suggestions and showed me some pics so we could be on the same page. We made appointment and I love how my hair came out. She was very thorough, patient, and skilled in what she was doing. She took 2 hours to transform, repair and change my color. I will definitely come back. Price was very reasonable. I came in for a haircut and a balayage today and I had the best experience. Julio did my hair cut and Josh did the balayage and both of them did an amazing job. Everyone at this salon, but these two in particular, do an amazing job of putting the client first and making us feel at home. I also checked out the social distancing issue and all wore masks. I was introduced to Miranda and we had a discussion. I liked her description of hoe she was going to highlight my hair and she listened to my concerns. I went back for the appointment and was very happy with the result. Not satisfied with haircuts and highlights here, went twice, second time I was surprised by how careless the hairdresser was. I asked for him to trim my curtain bangs and he proceeded to cut back full blunt bangs across my forehead that took many months to grow out and still are not the same. I am still in shock from the bad service I experienced at this upper east side hair salon today. The attitude of their front desk staff Monica to customers was like an episode of Trump's presidential election campaign- hateful and condescending. The nightmare began when I asked her if I could pay with my credit card for a $6 tax fee after redeeming my groupon. She told me that I had to pay for a $2 service fee to use my credit card for any charge under $10, which was unheard of at any place in Manhattan. I showed my disbelief in her request only to be dismissed by her "Jersey Shore" attitude saying "well this is how we do business whether you like it or not!" just WOW - If this is the way they will continue doing business in Manhattan, I won't see them in the map in three years. On top of that, I witnessed something extremely disturbing that Monica did to one of the employees at the hair salon; she intentionally concealed tips left for a hair dresser by lying that the customer did not leave any tip for one of her services. The hair dresser had to confront her by saying the customer had previously informed her how much she would leave for her. A few minutes later, Monica came back to the hair dresser with $20 saying that it was for her and she had "forgotten" about it. While this episode was playing out, I was sitting at my chair getting my Balayage hair feeling utterly disgusted by the way Monica treated her staff. While getting my hair washed, I overheard conversations between the mistreated hair dresser and another staff that this incident seemed to be a recurring theme at this hair salon. WOW! I loved my hair dresser and how my hair came out today but was seriously disturbed by the sheer horrible personality of this place's front desk representative Monica. I will not recommend my Upper East side friends to ever go there again. read more

I made the mistake of cheaping out and trusting my subtle blond highlights to SuperCuts. Big mistake - my hair was brassy, uneven, and horrible looking. I let it grow out for a few months, and then came to Dueto Salon. Jessica is seriously a miracle worker! She gave me cooler highlights, and corrected the terrible orangey color in my hair. And, she didn't judge me for going to a cheap salon before her! Thank you Jessica!! Ask for Paul..... I was so hesitant to start to color my hair since I am dark haired and I often see women walking around with hair unnaturally black color and no depth. NYC has lots of excellent hair salons, but Dueto is at the top for caring, individualized and outstanding hair services. Julio, the owner, is not only a master colorist, but also gives a great haircut. He rescued me from a bad color job and created beautiful highlights and a glowing sheen to my hair. I always receive compliments. The other colorists and hairstylists do beautiful work as well. The salon features wonderful customer service. Want a cappuccino while you are being styled--no problem. How do you like it? The front desk is manned by Alex and she always efficiently calls and confirms upcoming appointments. Natasha is THE BEST stylist to ever touch my curls! I have VERY stubborn natural curls (South Asian, 3b-ish) that few hair stylists know what to do with, even the ones at pricey salons in NYC that claim to be curl experts. Natasha took one look at me and knew exactly how to treat my hair. She gave me wonderful styling tips and never pressured me to try anything I wasn't comfortable with-- something that most stylists tend to do to me. She was also SO warm and friendly! The haircut was affordable as well-- usually curly hair cuts are bank-breaking! I don't think I'll ever go to another stylist again-- Natasha, thank you for the awesome haircut! There have been many times, that I have tried to step into a salon and do something fun with my hair. But I have always been instantly denied by the look as I walk in. All based on my appearance. I do not wear fancy suits. I'm just a casual t-shirt and jeans kind of guy. Who wears snapbacks and fitted caps on those bad hair hair days. So I had the pleasure of finding this little gem. After doing some searching via Yelp and Google. So I took a chance and said let me just push forward because lord knows I don't know what else to do with my hair lol. This past Tuesday, I was enjoying my day off down by Astor place. It was about 6pm and I said you know what let me call and see if they are available for me to swing by today. I delayed going to Duetto for 2 days now cuz of past experiences with other salons. I called and a man named Julio answers. I asked him if it was possible to be seen by 7 seeing as the salon closes at 8pm. He said it would not be a problem and that he would set me up with Axel. Excited I made my way uptown. The location is super easy to get to by the train. Less than a 10 min walk. I was given a very harsh glare from a woman. She had this puzzled look as if I lost my way and she didn't know what to do. I almost walked back out, but told myself no not this time. I greeted her and said I have an appointment with Axel for 7. Still puzzled she went to the back to and asked for someone else to come to the front. The man greeted me with a smile, said yes we spoke on the phone. Let me take your coat. The shop was small and quaint but I'm a simple guy so to me it was just perfect. My coat was taking by the very nice gentleman. He then offered me coffee or water while I waited. Coffee helps me relax so I had some of that. Next I was taken care of by a nice woman who washed my hair. Nothing amazing by it as she was very quiet but you know it was nice nonetheless. Next was time to sit in the chair. I met Axel, very friendly, greeted me with a smile and was ready to get things started. He asked what I was looking for, I showed him a photo of what I wanted. He looked said smiled and said ok got it. Axel made me feel really comfortable and at ease. I was really nervous because I wanted my hair to look a certain way and wasn't sure if it could be done. The inspiration came from a photo a friend gave me and also anime inspired is what I was going for. He was concerned my hair wasn't long enough for what I wanted. But he went ahead saying he would do his best to achieve my look. Axel walked me through the steps he was taking. Giving me advice on how to take care afterwards and also options on things I can do with my hair in the future. By then I was the only one in the shop being taken care of and the man who greeted me earlier when I arrived. Axel explained to me that Julio so happens to be the owner!!! Wow! Too awesome! Axel made great small talk, we happened to be from neighboring areas back home in Puerto Rico and we live near each other in the Bronx. This day just couldn't get any better. Now as we wrap up my haircut. He shows me how to style and stuff. I'm still not sold on my hair yet. But then the miracle of molding wax and Axel's expert style..all of a sudden BAM!! That moment was the best! I can't remember being so happy I FELL IN LOVE WITH MY HAIR AGAIN!! I swear cuz 5 hours earlier I was ready to chop it off lol my story may have been long for some. But it was necessary because Duetto has changed my mind on salons. The service that Axel provided was beyond fantastic. The owner Julio was so great right up until I left. Thanked me for coming by.
