We tried the La Piñata and the Smokey Old Fashioned, which arrived in a dramatic smoke dome--such a fun presentation. For our first bites, we ordered the Tostadas: handmade corn tostadas served with both red and green avocado sauces. They were fresh, vibrant, and a perfect start to the meal. Our main courses were equally impressive. The Short Rib with Mole Amarillo came with pickled habanero onions, rice, and plantains--rich, tender, and beautifully balanced. We also enjoyed the Arrachera, an outside skirt steak served with sautéed onions, chimichurri, rustic potatoes, and a bouquet salad. Every dish was plated beautifully and tasted exceptional. Our server, Dalia, made the experience even better. She was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive--always appearing at just the right moment, whether to refill our water or guide us through the menu. Overall, it was another amazing visit. We go there often and have never been disappointed.

TLDR: one of my favorite ATL restaurants, lamb tuetano bone marrow tacos are a stand out. Remember…read moreto validate parking immediately. This is my second time here and both times have been so good. We came as a party of 3 and left so happy and full. I love Mexican food holy moly We got the queso and octopus shrimp ceviche as starters. The queso was 3 cheeses: American, cotija, and Oaxacan. They heated it up under a salamander so it was nice and crispy on top, while being gooey all throughout. Also came with a couple of nice salsas. The ceviche was not my favorite because I don't prefer raw(ish) octopus, but the squid ink sauce was very flavorful. For our mains the 3 of us shared the red snapper, tuetano with lamb, and the mixteco poblano pepper. Red snapper had a nice charred smoky flavor from being grilled. Was more meaty than flaky in texture. It was our second time getting the mixteco poblano pepper and it hits. Highly recommend eating with some of the salsa as well if you get queso. The duck carnitas in it wasn't particularly duck-y today, but still very good. Best dish is definitely the tuetano. The bone marrow is so incredibly flavorful with the blue corn tortillas. Add some of the pickled onions and it's hard to go wrong with that flavor combo of salt, fat, and acid. if you're going to order one thing, I'd order this and share with a friend and tbh it's enough to be filling. For dessert we got the volcan de chocolate (basically lava cake). The lava cake and coconut ice cream combo is fantastic. You get bits of coconut flakes as you eat! Fair warning it isn't the brownie texture you may be used to, it's a bit more cakey. Amazing service the whole night! Almost got our cars booted because we forgot to validate until 1.5 hours in but luckily we were fine. The staff let us know they have been booting cars though so be wary!

It was a good sized crowd but we didn't have to wait to be seated and the food came at a reasonable pace. I was very pleased. We had the birria empanadas and the queso for starters. She had the half chicken, I had the branzino and we shares a side of rice and beans. The menu is a la cart and has a family/sharing vibe to it, so perfect for ppl who might want to order a few things and share!

We visited after a graduation celebration and were looking forward to a memorable meal. The experience got off to a rough start with hosts who were not particularly warm or welcoming. Once seated, things only went downhill. Our waiter seemed disorganized from the beginning. We ordered appetizers first, but they arrived at different times, and to make matters worse, the graduate in our party received her main entrée at the same time the rest of us were receiving appetizers. I politely explained that it didn't make sense for one guest to be eating her entrée while everyone else was still eating appetizers and waiting for their meals. His response was confusing and didn't really address the issue, so we let it go. Unfortunately, the graduate's steak was served cold. Rather than preparing a fresh one, the restaurant simply took it back and returned it about two minutes later. It appeared to be the exact same steak based on how we had left it when it was sent back, and while I'm not sure whether restaurants typically reheat food or prepare a new dish altogether, this one was reheated. To make matters worse, the graduate ended up with a stomachache after eating it. As we continued waiting, our entrées never arrived. The waiter was polite but extremely inattentive. We repeatedly had to flag him down because he rarely checked on our table. After a VERY long wait, I asked about the rest of our meals. At that point, he admitted that he had forgotten to place our entree orders altogether. He then had to take all of our orders again and submit them to the kitchen. By the time our food finally arrived, we were no longer hungry and were extremely frustrated, despite remaining patient and courteous throughout the entire experience. The entrées were decent, but nothing exceptional, especially considering the extremely excessive wait and service issues. The waiter did bring a small dessert for the graduate, which was a nice touch, but it felt more like a complimentary gesture because he had forgotten our entrées than a genuine celebration of the occasion, especially given how disastrous the overall experience had been. What should have been a joyful graduation celebration turned into an exhausting and disappointing dining experience. While the waiter was polite, the service was slow, disorganized, and lacking attention to detail. Overall, this was a poor first experience and not one I would be eager to repeat.

We called about reservations and they said they could seat us if we could be there by 5:30 since they were expecting a lot of walk-in business for the holiday weekend. When we got there, the place was practically empty. They assigned two servers to our table who were friendly but couldn't answer hardly any of the questions we had about the menu. They gave us a drink menu but they were out of practically every drink on the menu. Did we ignore these red flags? Yes. Why? Because we were starving and trusted the recommendation. After we got drinks sorted, we started browsing the menu. They have four non-seafood protein dishes on their menu and they were out of three of them. They were also out of spinach, the salsa for the fish tacos, and something else. Long story short, we had very little to choose from. My 280 lb husband ended up ordering a wedge salad and hush puppies for dinner. The hush puppies were severely overcooked and dry, so he didn't even get to eat them. We also ordered crab cakes for an appetizer. When they were brought to the table, I thought someone ordered grilled portobello mushroom caps. I have never seen crab cakes that were paper thin and gray. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. The shrimp and grits (or fried grit cake actually) were decent, but the worst dish was the seafood linguine. There was plenty of seafood, but the sauce was basically pasta water, an alarming amount of thyme (or rosemary), and fresh squeezed lemon. It was so sour that it made your lips pucker and your eyes water. Hands down, this dish was one of the worst plates of food I have ever tasted in my adult life. By the time we left an hour and a half later there was only one other table that sat down. Between the 12 of us, our bill was $500. We paid it and immediately went and ate pizza. As we walked down the street to the pizza parlor, every other restaurant was buzzing with patrons. This is 100% an issue with food quality and taste. Someone lost their passion in that kitchen and it shows.
