Fives across the board. Casi Cielo is incredible. The space is warm and beautiful without trying too hard, and the crowd was hip and well dressed. Definitely a place to be seen and eat well. There's a parking garage but it was full when we got there, so we did valet, which was surprisingly affordable. Service was wonderful. Our server was attentive, helpful, and super knowledgeable about the menu. As for the food, we got: Aguachile de Pescado, which was insane. Super fresh, bright, citrusy, ceviche-like with perfect texture. I would go back just for that. The Hamachi was clean and bright. That avocado sauce tied everything together and gave it some depth without overpowering the fish. The Pork Belly Tostadas were crispy and rich with that smooth avocado mousse and sweet mango salsa balancing it out perfectly. Finally, the bone marrow with steak... so good. I had seen pictures of it before I came and it did not disappoint. The steak was incredibly tender. They bring blue corn tortillas and suggest making a taco with the marrow, steak, and avocado. It's great that way. But honestly, the marrow and steak stand perfectly on their own. Whole experience was excellent. Easily one of my favorite spots in the city now. read more

We came here last night to celebrate my sister's birthday with a large group. Unfortunately, the service kicked off on a really sour note. Right when we walked in, the staff complained to us that we hadn't called ahead to have a "smaller, special menu" crafted for a large party. To make matters worse, they loudly announced to the whole table right off rip that they wouldn't split checks separately--only an even split. It felt incredibly rude, lazy, and unwelcoming. The irony is that the large group size wasn't even an issue; we staggered our arrivals and the patio was completely empty. The kicker- my brother in law ended up paying the whole tab at the end anyways! so all of that initial laziness & nastiness for NOTHING! Throughout the night, the service felt incredibly rushed and stressed. While we were still eating our appetizers, the busser was aggressively trying to clear our plates because the mains were coming. Our server was very short with us the entire time, which was confusing because the restaurant didn't even have a stressful vibe. She recommended a main dish to me that I really didn't care for, though I will say the salsa was unique and probably the best part of the meal. Shoutout to the one staff member who was actually friendly, but overall, this is not the kind of place where you leave feeling like you had a nice restaurant experience- at least I personally didn't.. Too bad we didn't just go to C&S next door which we always love. Wanted to love it. The vibes are there, the staff is genuinely lovely, and there's real potential here, we just had a bit of an adventure getting through the meal. We had someone in our party with a gluten allergy, and our sweet server was doing his absolute best, bless. We were steered away from the tostadas as a starter due to gluten concerns, so we pivoted to guac...which then arrived with a gluten-free tostada. So the tostadas would have been totally fine! Then a good while after we'd all ordered, she was told her entrée had gluten and needed to be changed. She reordered, and almost immediately, the rest of the table's food came out. So we were left choosing between eating without her or letting everything go cold. And the plantains she'd reordered around, because she'd been told they couldn't be made gluten-free? Turns out they absolutely can be. Just miss after miss there. The spicy margarita was more of a margarita that once passed a jalapeño on the street. I asked for extra jalapeño juice and they were happy to help, but without the seeds and ribs it just couldn't deliver on the heat. I'd skip the margs next visit. This just wasn't quite the relaxed easy dinner we'd hoped for, and the price point feels like it's a step ahead of where the experience currently lands. We were greeted with live music on a Sunday noon. Our server understood that we were celebrating special occasions and did a wonderful job recommending menu items that we would like. He provided us with an amazing service and even gifted us painted little pots with flowers. The flavored water was refreshing! I will preface this by saying Mexican food is not a favorite of mine so I don't have many other upscale Mexican restaurants to compare my experience to. Parking: they offer valet and there's a nearby parking deck. The parking deck was full so we opted in for street parking just around the corner from the restaurant but valet may be easiest due to the busyness of that area on the weekends. Ambiance: Nice vibe inside. My friend said this was her first time being able to get a reservation so I recommend reservations. Looked great for solo dining, date nights, or friend night outs. Service: Service was great from the time you arrived to the time you left! I'm very big on this and Casi Cielo is a stand out in this department. From the hostesses to our waitress, Alondra?, who was new were all great. I loved that they took such pride in their menu from their in-house cocktail ingredients, their extensive Mezcal selection, or the culture that went into each of their dishes were all shared with us as we decided between the menu. Cocktail: I got the Raicilla Punch. For $17 I was honestly pretty underwhelmed and would skip it next time. It was sweet, but just nothing special to me. Food: For an appetizer, we had Fundido de Queso which was the highlight of the night for me. I'm a cheese lover and loved the nuttiness and smoothness plus the cheesy crust. I was also a big fan of the freshness of their chips and different salad. For my main course, I got the Enchiladas Verdes. Everything was seasoned well and it paired great with what we had left of the queso. My only feedback is I would've appreciated a little bit more if the sauce. My friend also mentioned that when she had the dish previously, it had more sauce. To conclude, my friend ordered the Capirotada which is like a bread pudding. Kind of reminded me of candied bacon. It was a bit too sweet for me but others in my group loved it. Cochinillo tacos - didn't get to try this one but my friend said it was good - her second time ordering it! Quesabirria - not your traditional quesabirria. Filled with delicious lobster. It was cooked perfectly with tender meat, stretchy cheese, crispy tortilla but juicy on the inside. The lobster bisque was rich and tasty. Lime and guac was refreshing. One of their newest additions go the menu! Entraña - husband didn't expect much from skirt steak but he said this was perfectly tender and flavored. Cooked to perfection! The salad was refreshing and potatoes tasty with cheese. Volcan de chocolate - mexican twist on a chocolate lava cake. Great for dark chocolate lovers as it is not too sweet and has a little kick from chile powder. Topped with a delicious coconut gelato. De verano - a soursop cream our birthday girl got. Great for those who like acidic desserts like lime or lemon flavored things. Tostada francesa - this was literally the highlight of our night and a wonderful way to end the meal. Hands down best french toast we've ever had!! Definitely more of a dessert than a breakfast item. The toast is sooo soft and custardy on the inside and the refreshing cream and fruit on top is the perfect pair. A must try and favorite of the staff too. Can't wait to come back just for this. Had heard this was a great upscale Mexican spot in Sandy springs. Great location , ample parking in the adjacent parking garage and nice selection of options to choose. We sat at the bar and had 2 great bar tenders who knew the menu, made great recommendations and the food was delish. I had the fried fish tacos and my accompaniment had the chicken tacos . Both had a great flavor profile that was delish. We had 2 cocktails- pineapple margarita with a hint of spice and tahin on the rim. The guac owed fresh and flavorful and we had a blue chip appetizer as well. I would definitely return but is a bit pricey. This is an upscale Mexican restaurant where you will NOT find your traditional options like fajitas, flautas, quesadillas, etc. This restaurant has ana amazing flavor and it is for the foodies out there. We ended up getting seated before our reservation time so it worked out. We started with red wine and quite a few apertivos: the fundido de queso, aguilachile de pescado, croquetas de platano. All were tasty, although the queso was a little watery for my taste. The aguachile was a beautiful presentation and good for sharing. The croquetas de platano are solid (almost literally) - and fill you up while you're waiting for your entree! I decided to split the pate con mole negro - the duck was beautiful and the mole paired great. The duck was cooked perfectly. It's a pretty big portion so it's perfect for sharing, especially with the rice and beans. We ended the meal with the bread pudding and it was warm and meaty and delicious. As we finished the meal, the server was super accommodating and helped us split the check easily - including the shared appetizers per person - it was awesome. Fantastic ambience, we'd never tried the covered patio, was a great area without feeling crowded. Service was on point, our waiter was very attentive and descriptive with drinks and food. Even with a reservation we had a 20 minute wait. The restaurant was packed, and obviously good since people were coming in a willing to wait without a reservation for up to two hours. We decided on the tasting menu to sample multiple bites, as this was our first visit. There was so much food that we could not finish everything and had to take our last two courses home and opted out of dessert. Be prepared to be there for a few hours if you select a tasting menu. The food does not disappoint. Very eclectic. We had the croquetas de platano (fried plantains deep fried with machego cheese served on a mole sauce), pulpo al carbon (grilled octopus 30th roasted potatoes), ensalada cesar al josper (charred romaine leaves with anchovies, manchego and house made dressing), color al josper (roasted cauliflower with pumpkin seeds, chile powder and oil), tuetano ( roasted bone marrow with lamb chimichurri and hand made tortillas) and pao con mole negro ( duck carnitas). When I say everything was a delight, from the service to each bite, there's no exaggeration. The salad and cauliflower were awesome. So simple and basic, but elevated. I was quickly seated in a booth and greeted by my waitress was very attentive, making sure I understood the menu. I ordered the Croquetas de platanos appetizer - a plantain croquette with an amazing mole. I definitely recommend if you enjoy sweet plantain. For my main, I got the Oaxffle de milpa- a corn waffle with duck confit as the waitress said this was her personal favorite. It did not disappoint. Both the appetizer and main came out very quickly which I was appreciative of. It was absolutely delicious. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the drinks was equally impressive. I ordered the Paloma Negra. I loved how the chef made a point of greeting patrons, which added a personal, welcoming touch to the experience. No thanks. Now I don't want to be unfair. Both steak dishes we ordered were excellent. The ambiance was pleasant and the service very attentive. I am giving this four stars for the service and experience! I was seated upon arrival with my reservation and my waitress was super kind. What I found unique about this place was the option to have fruit infused water, it was super refreshing and delicious. The mixture I had was orange, strawberry, and mint. It paired nicely with my food. I do wish that there was some form of complimentary bread. It would've been nice to have something to snack on. I ordered the Chilaquiles and they were okay. The chicken didn't taste how I expected it to, it sort of seemed like generic grilled chicken. Other than that, it was tasty. On to the food...we started off with the Queso dip which came with salsa, guacamole and chips. The queso was tasty, salsa and guacamole were ok. We also had the croquets and pork belly tostada. Both were delicious. The croquets came in a quantity of 2 and each were big enough to share. The pork belly was tender..the mango added an extra touch of flavor. For our entrees, I had the 16oz ribeye which was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. My friend had the snapper which came as 2 filets and had a grilled taste that was delicious. We also had the chicken which had the same yummy grilled taste and the bone marrow which consisted of lamb and was also good. Potato's and black beans came with my steaks and were also good.
