My PCP (primary care physician) referred me to this facility and I am glad that they did. The facility is very nice, however parking is at the bottom of a hill (unless you are unable to walk, the handicap parking is around the circle near the facility). After parking and coming up the hill, you are able to walk under a covered walk way that will lead you to the main entrance. Upon entering the entrance, going through 2 double doors (both have handicap buttons to open the doors automatically), you come into a very clean waiting room with 4 (maybe 5) front desk check in areas. The staff are very nice and quick to handling your information. The room is very organized, and well laid out. After all the paperwork is completed, you sit down in the waiting room, awaiting for your 'nurse' or PA to come to retrieve you to bring you to the back. The Orthopedic area in the back is very nicely laid out, and all the rooms are very personable. (compared to going to other Physician offices), as they do not have any big computers in the room. They feel that it allows them to be more personable with the patient, rather than charting on the computer in the room. The Doctors that are there are great. I actually had a great experience with Scott Gibson, PA (who is the PA Who works with Dr. Dean Taylor). I believe that Scott Gibson a great physician and has such a great demeanor, that I look forward to working with him in the future. (more so than the actual physician, as he spent more time with me, explaining everything to me, rather than your typical doctor who comes in, reads the paperwork, and leaves). read more

Dr. Charles R. Woodard, is an Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor, a Facial Plastic Surgeon and a Head and Neck Surgeon who sees patients at Duke Aesthetic Center. He is a wonderful doctor and a great surgeon. He was recommended to me by a friend. I decided get his opinion on my deviated septum and breathing problem. He is a very busy doctor and only sees patients on Wednesdays but I was able to get an appointment fairly quickly. After my first appointment he ordered a CT scan to better understand what was going on before taking the surgery route. I really appreciated that! I ended up needing surgery and that was also booked very quickly and easily. Dr. Woodard and his team make it thing very easy for the patient. Surgery went well and I'm so happy I decided to go see him. He changed my life, I didn't know what it meant to be able to breathe like this. My brother ended up going to him and he will be having his nose that has been broken a few times fixed over Christmas break. read more

This is for the clinic portion on Medicine Circle off Trent. This area is much easier to manage…read morethan the main hospital. It's color coded and there's plenty of parking. You do have to walk across the indoor bridge to get there unless you valet park. They charge $2 an hour for parking. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Everything is done with an arm bracelet for things such as lab or testing. I had an appointment with neuromuscular department. The physicians and therapists are excellent. They're very thorough and up to date on current medicines and trials. The EMG center is in the same clinic so it's super convenient. Being part of the Duke portal is convenient for Atrium Wake Forest and Cone Health because all testing is visible and they can also see visit notes from the doctors. It makes it possible to see providers from different networks and not having to bring in or sign for your records to be shared. The facility is massive and the color system makes it easy to find your way. There are several labs so you don't have to walk a mile to get to one. Most walk in tests can accommodate with minimal waiting. It's about a quarter mile walk from the parking garage to the clinics so wear comfy shoes or walking device. You will have a lot of walking to do and there's limited seating in the main corridors.

The parking can be difficult because there are so many people using disabled spots that don't have placards or plates. And there's a long walk from the lot to the clinic area. Add about 10-15 minutes extra to park and walk to and from the clinic. Everything is color coded so it's easy to remember where you're going and coming from.

They have TVs, comfortable furniture, gender neutral bathrooms, vending machines and a free coffee bar espresso station. It's as comfortable as possible in the surgery waiting area as a hospital can provide and the receptionist was very friendly. There was even a kind volunteer that walked around and introduced herself to us and let us know she was there if we needed anything. Overall, positive experience.

Not only huge, but there are three separate radiology areas and of course, we went to the wrong one. A lot of walking, hard to find a parking spot and overall confusion were the drawbacks. However, regarding the cars received and the help of a few kind strangers, we got to the appropriate location. Side note - gift shop was so cute and a great place to grab a water and a protein bar while you sit in the waiting areas.

I really USE Yelp reviews and read them carefully because I really want to know WHY you like a doctor (it is just cuz you think he has "dreamy blue eyes" or is it more?) SO...HERE'S WHY I LIKE DR HILL: 1. I'm 67, fit, active -- walker, runner (not "serious" -- walk/run 2-3 miles 4-6x a week -- swimmer in summer and Fuel Fitness). I have hard plastic orthotics that I've worn for THIRTY YEARS. I assumed, when I first visited Dr. Hill, that my feet have changed over the past 30 (!) years and the orthotics would need to be replaced (not cheap, totally necessary). In other words, 30-yr old orthotics were an engraved invitation to "sell me" new orthotics. Dr. Hill held them to the bottom of my feet and said "well, these still look fine..." I'm not an untrusting person -- but THAT inspired trust! 2. She is a real "problem solver." She doesn't just reach up to her mental shelf and pull off a pre-formulated answer. She really listens and THINKS. And she's very clear, plain-spoken and practical. I have spent $2500 out of pocket (after insurance payments) trying to find out what is causing pain in my right ankle and base of my toes on right foot. 3 x-rays. 3 visits to EmergeOrtho (I could write an essay -- but let me just say I will NEVER EVER return to them -- waste of money. One doctor would contradict the next!) Visited Duke Sports -- and 3 Physical Therapy visits, who said it was tendonitis and only PT exercises would help, over a long time. Exercises DID seem to help -- but still definitely "something not right" and I've been scared to run and scared to do a lot of walking for fear I might cause some kind of real damage. 3. Dr. Hill heard my tale...took xrays. Said "I think what's going on here is complex." Said legs are likely aching due to: 1. my venous insufficiency (wear those compressions socks!). 2. Looks like I don't put the normal amount of pressure on my big toe -- causing the 2 next to it to be bearing more -- getting sore. 3. The two toes next to my big toe slant a bit towards the bit toe. Narrows the gap between the bones on both those toes, possibly somewhat pinching all the things that run between those bones. Said the hard plastic orthotics can sometimes cause an issue -- so go to a store and buy some insoles with heel cups (those were $10 -- so NOT a huge expense). Said to be better about wearing compression sock. When I said "so...why does the middle toe on my right foot stick up like that when I try to curl my toes? Still doing that after a year -- what's causing it?" She said "I have no idea. See? No b.s. -- Just one more reason why I like her. :-)

Dr Hill permanently ruined my toenails with a simple ingrown toenail procedure. When I went to a…read moredifferent podiatrist to have him fix what she had done, he said she used a technique from the fifties on my toes. On top of that, she did the procedure to both toenails, even though only one needed the work. Why? Perhaps because she is a sadist. That was the vibe I was getting. Incredibly rude, dedicated to my pain. She shouldn't be a doctor.
