I bought a used truck from Austin on Saturday April 4th. When I purchased it had a key issue and Austin gave me an IOU to get it fixed on Tuesday April 7th. We brought it on Tuesday and their key guy said it's an issue with the truck. Duke Chevrolet told me they would bring it over to Toyota to sort out the issues that day. They didn't bring it until the following day Wednesday April 8th. It is now Thursday April 9th and Toyota wasn't able to fix the issue. We bought this Truck because we had a trip out of town on Friday April 10th and we needed the truck. My wife went in to sort out the issue and see what they could do for us. Grace stated the vehicle should have never hit the lot with this issue. Danny their service manager said it had never hit the lot and Austin had pulled it out to sell. My wife went to their Sales Manager Mike with this information to see if they could possibly give us a rental so we could make the trip tomorrow. Austin knew we had a trip out of town when I purchased this vehicle. Mike basically told us their is nothing they could do for us and while my wife was there (I was on speaker phone so I heard all this) he told us that he also has a trip tomorrow so he's got to get moving and when my wife retorted with "yeah but you have a reliable vehicle" he waved his hand at her and said "I'm not going there with you." My wife was not being rude she was just stating a fact. Mike is a horrible Sales Manager and in my opinion should be fired for disrespecting a customer that didn't even raise her voice and waving her off like it's the 16th century. I was unable to be there due to work. When I asked over my wife's speaker phone what the return policy was Mike stated "4 days, 200 miles" which both have probably passed seeing as I got to drive it for a whole 60 miles before turning it back into them on Tuesday and they drove the rest of it. They stated they will fix the issue, but the fact that Mike disrespected my wife, the fact that Grace (I am assuming her position is high up in sales) stated this truck should have never hit the lot, and the fact that Danny stated it should have never been pulled from Service and there is absolutely nothing Duke Automotive can do about the inconvenience of this issue (other than get it fixed whenever they can I guess) has put a bad taste in my mouth for Duke Chevrolet Automotive. Hopefully this gets seen my Eley Duke, because at this point I am screwed out of this trip unless we get a rental on our own dime, because of multiple screw ups from this supposedly good dealership. While I was typing this Mike called me back and told me Eley Duke would pay up to $250 for a rental vehicle. So I guess there's that, but when I asked Mike if he raised his hand and shooed my wife away he stated he did not, however I do not believe him because I heard his statement "I'm not going there with you" right before my wife said "I just got dismissed." For a first time doing business with Duke Chevrolet Automotive, all I have to say is this has not been a pleasant one. Thank you Eley for offering 250 towards a rental, and thank you Danny and Grace for treating my wife with respect. I'd even say Austin was pleasant to work with, but Mike, I heard your tone over the phone and shame on you for shooing away a customer when they are asking for help. Can't wait to drive my new to me Tacoma whenever that will be. read more

Used them recently to address a transmission issue. They promised 3-4 day turnaround and it took almost two weeks. No good reason given. On them plus side, the work seems to have been done well and they provided a loaner vehicle. read more

We have bought 2 vehicles from Duke and tried giving them business for a third in less than 2 years. They lost a couple experienced salesman and then passed us around to 3 people before we even made it in the building. Trade in offer was significantly lower than competitors and online offers from Carvana and Carmax. It felt like I had to play mind games with the sales manager to get a decent offer. I heard multiple attempts from the dealer to trick me into accepting a bad offer. On one visit the sales manager made it clear that he cared more about one of his salesman hitting his numbers for the month than giving us a better experience. Things have changed here in the last couple years which is upsetting. I ended up switching brands altogether because of how poorly they handled us. read more

Had my first service experience with Duke on yesterday. I made my appointment a week or so prior. When I arrived I was told I had no appointment. Puzzled, I explained to the service rep that I did in fact have an appointment and would not just "show up". The service rep honored my appointment date and shortly thereafter my vehicle was taken care of. I appreciate Duke and their staff for their professionalism and accommodation. read more

I bought my 2018 Silverado, brand new at Priority Chevrolet in Chesapeake on Sept 8, 2018. The truck had 18 miles on it when I drove it off the lot and there was excessive vibration at a certain speed and RPM. I left the truck with Priority for an entire week, never recieved a call or e-mail from them. When I went in person to inquire about the vehicle, nobody knew what was going on. The service manager said he couldn't find anything wrong with it. I brought it to Duke and the problem was diagnosed and fixed in less than 24 hrs. Duke is one of the few remaining family owned dealers in the area, they took care of me like I had purchased my truck from them and I'm very greatful. I plan to return the favor by doing my best to promote Duke Chevrolet and have my vehicle serviced there until the time to buy a new one from them. Service here is awesome, albeit you're paying dealer prices for automotive care, but that's the way it goes. The customer service counter is always friendly and accommodating. Rick, the mechanic supervisor is honest, and goes the extra mile, letting you know issues he found, what can wait, needs immediate attention, and addresses all your concerns. The service is usually done quickly (as possible) and the waiting room is clean with workstations, wi-fi, tv, comp soda, water, donuts and coffee. I don't like being at the auto shop but if you have to, it's nice you don't have to lose too much productive time. read more

My truck has a radio problem . Sometimes you hit a bump the volume goes up. sometimes it just quits playing. sometimes it won't change channels. hard to set your phone to the radio. The service I received at Duke was the best I've ever received. My truck was being limited to 55 MPH due to a bad Diesel Exhaust sensor which said I was out of fluid. We needed to return home within the next couple days and it would have been very hard to do with this limitation. They worked my in, diagnosed the problem and replaced the bad parts. While waiting, I enjoyed their customer waiting facilities. It had work centers for using laptops, etc. Every group of chairs had electrical outlets for recharging. There was a large TV. Coffee, tea, bottled water, and donuts were provided. After completing the repair, the technician spoke directly to me and gave a complete explanation of their findings and repairs. They also made some suggested checks to have done before going on our next long trip. I can't thank them enough for everything they did for me. read more

Bought my 2015 GMC 1500 Denali here and so far so good. Deal was great, the truck has been great with excellent gas mileage for a 5.3L V8, and today I had the mirrors changed out to tow mirrors for our travel trailer and boat. They did everything they said they would and the mirrors work as promised...all lights function, heaters work, and automatic mirror adjustments work. We are very happy and only have the best things to say about Duke and their entire organization. read more

I have yet to have a bad experience taking my Truck (2015 Chevy Colorado) into Duke for service or repairs. Although i bought mine at one of the huge dealers in Virginia Beach, and had to take it back to them repeatedly for some persistent nagging issues that they were never able to fix (although they said they did), it took the smaller hometown dealer "Duke" to actually dig deep and fix not only the issues i had, but ensured everything about my vehicle worked to my satisfaction. Duke treats you like a hometown friend not just a number like most do after they have your money. Duke Automotive may not have massage chairs and four wide screen TV's in a grand waiting room, but what they do have is a team that cares and treats you with respect and approaches your vehicles needs knowing it was a huge investment. They have certainly earned my trust and respect and my next purchase will be made right here in my hometown with Duke Automotive. read more

I took my car to Duke for an inspection and they tried to rip me off. I was told that the electrical kit for the light bulbs above my back license plate was missing and I'd have to pay $150 for a new kit. When I asked if it was something my husband could fix (because he's good with cars) I was discouraged from that because apparently it's complicated to fix. My husband wanted to try anyway so I took a rejection sticker. My husband said it wasn't complicated at all to get to the kit and the kit was there! They tried to sell me something I didn't need at all. One of the back light bulbs was out but that cost 30 cents at Autozone and anyone can change a light bulb. How sad that a woman can't go to a dealership alone without getting ripped off. read more
